Sorual 607 Posted October 13, 2012 the only reason i can think of is becouse of ven's heart. but that means when ven awakes he wil have to give the keyblade back, so thats out of the question. so how and why the Kingdom Key?

HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted October 13, 2012 Benji we already answered this for you before ? Sora wields his own keyblade and DUAL WIELDS because of Vens heart .... but that doesent mean he can just weild one. he has to touch a keyblade in order to get one right? Sorual 607 Posted October 13, 2012 (edited) Yen sid transferred his powers to sora in kh1. He sensed that he had a strong heart. but you don't see yen sid untill AFTER he gets his keyblade. I dont even remember seeing him in KH1. all though that is a good answer and probably is true but in what game do you find that out? Ruran 481 Posted October 13, 2012 It's a combination of Disney magic, protagonist powers, and Sora being Jesus. There are more ways than just the ceremony to gain a Keyblade. Sora held on to the thing for what must have been weeks before it switcher to him permanently. If after all that time and after everything Sora did he still wasn't worthy of being a wielder then damn. Talk about finicky. 2 luka and theultimatesorafan reacted to this

deathrebirthsenshi 279 Posted October 13, 2012 Please. Getting keyblades the legit way is for the weak hearted. Even though Riku became a master first I mean, you pretty much see it for sure in KH1; the keyblade that was supposed to be Riku's chose Sora because of his strength of heart. That Kingdom Key, which was once destined to Riku, is now Sora's own keyblade; its a brand new one of his own that doesn't belong to anyone else. Only Sora's second keyblade doesn't belong to him. And I don't think you can lose the ability to wield a keyblade unless you give it up or give your heart over to darkness, as was the case with Riku and Xehanort. WakelessDream 2,279 Posted October 13, 2012 but that doesent mean he can just weild one. he has to touch a keyblade in order to get one right? He has a strong heart and that's why he's able to wield one. Touching a keyblade, I'm assuming you're talking about the inheritance ceremony, that's not a requirement but I guess you could think of it as giving one a higher chance of acquiring a keyblade, but it doesn't have to happen to wield one. 1 Kishira reacted to this

WakelessDream 2,279 Posted October 13, 2012 Really? So anyone with a strong heart can get a keyblade? Thats generally how it goes. Well I mean, strength of heart probably plays a big factor, but I'm sure its not the only thing.
Gambler'sApprentice 131 Posted October 16, 2012 I would assume that Ven gave him the original Keybalde wielding ability, but since he had the strength to wield it he has the ability to do so. It can't be entirely contingent on the ceremony though, otherwise we couldn't have a first wielder.

Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted October 17, 2012 Why the Kingdom Key though? Because it symbolizes Sora's roll as "the key that connects everything" hence, why it's appearance is more key-like than any other Keyblade we've seen. (Besides the Kingdom Key D, of course it being a palate swap and all) I mean I know Fenrir is supposed to be a pin-tumbler lock key (the modern keys we use today as opposed to the skeleton key that most Keybades are based on) but it just looks like a broken chainsaw to me.Not actually confirmed but it just makes good sense. LordOfTheCastle 92 Posted October 17, 2012 Why the Kingdom Key though? The Kingdom Key is the keyblade that's given to the guardian of the Realm of Light. As you know, it looks like this: It originally chose Riku to guard the realm of light, but Riku embraced the darkness, so it abandoned him and went to Sora. There's also a keyblade for guarding the Realm of Darkness, called the Kingdom Key D It's wielded by King Mickey, and he protects the Realm of Darkness, just like he did at the end of Kingdom Hearts 1. The Kingdom Key is a keyblade that chooses its wielder, it's not one that requires a ceremony. The Kingdom Key of Light chose Sora as its wielder, that's one keyblade, then Ventus's heart allows him to hold a second keyblade.
xoblivionx13 1,133 Posted October 17, 2012 The Keyblade moved to the next person with a strong heart which is Sora (KH1). However, in BbS Ven loses his heart and joins with Sora's. By doing so, Sora obtains the ability to weild Keyblade....he probably didn't know about it or have access to it until Riku went darkness crazy and the Keyblade realized he was to corrupted, therefore granting the power to Sora. In KH2, we are introduced to Roxas who is half of Sora, providing him Keyblade power as well. Then there's the whole Xion thing....her being half of Roxas as well as Sora which gave her a Keyblade leading her to merging with Sora's memories. I think Roxas could use 2 Keyblades because of Sora/Xion and Ven....which allowed Sora to wield 2 Keyblades as well....derp....that's a mess of confusion O____O....which I'm actually not entirely sure about. Basically Ven started it, Riku enforced the decision, and Roxas/Xion provided a 2nd weapon. All you have to do is either merge with Sora or split from him and you have a Keyblade! With the Kingdom Key, it actually resembles a skeleton key which can typically open any old lock on a door. Maybe it shows Sora's power to unlock/lock the light. deathrebirthsenshi 279 Posted October 18, 2012 But Xehanort wielded a Keyblade even after giving in to darkness...as evidenced when he fought with Eraques. So makes me wonder why Riku couldn't as well. Well, it has to do with the extent that you give yourself to darkness. Riku actually could wield the keyblade temporarily. I think its more because Sora's keyblade was a keyblade from the realm of light, and so naturally avoided Riku's heart full of darkness originally. Xehanort's keyblade is probably from the realm of darkness, not to mention that he's a keyblade master and has had his keyblade for a long time. He has control over his darkness, something Riku sort of lacks in the first game. Riku still uses darkness, but hasn't given in to the darkness, allowing him to still have a keyblade presently; this is sort of the case with Xehanort too. But note that its implied that once he became a heartless (ie gave in fully to darkness), neither of his halves Ansem or Xemnas were eligible to wield the keyblade. 1 tysonrss reacted to this
Caity 3,946 Posted October 18, 2012 The Keyblade was meant to go to Riku, but it sensed a darkness in him and went for the nearest light (strongest heart) which so happened to be Sora (hence why Riku could take the blade of him later on in KH1). I suppose he proved he was worthy of the keyblade and protecting people that he officially became able to wield it (without people being able to just take it off him, e.g. Jack Sparrow KH2) so he's able to use it without having to have had an actual keyblade ceremony. If every wielder needed a keyblade ceremony how would the first ever keyblade wielder have got it in the first place. 2 Handsome_the_Wise and tysonrss reacted to this
