For me - when people call most of the games side games. Things like Roxas/Namine, Roxas/Xion, Terra/Aqua, etc. can be taken as plain old strong friendship instead of something romantic, but fans insist on shipping them anyway because I guess they care more about seeing characters make out than anything else.
