Responsibility.

Recommended Posts

There are times when we ask ourselves, what is responsibility?  To some, it's a word that symbolizes commitment.  To others, it means to be true to one self and take care of anything that needs taken care of.  To me, responsibility is like an oath that one makes to oneself.  Life comes by with many happy moments, and with many good things for us, but in order for us to be able to enjoy the many joys of life, we must be responsible.  Let's call it equivalent exchange.  In other words, when you put your mind to something, make sure that you have all necessary preparations, and remember that everything you do depends on your action, and the responsibility you have in each consequence or benefit the actions you do have.  But it doesn't just apply to yourself, it also applies to your friends, and family, and loved ones.  To friends, responsibility is making sure that you're there for each other when the going gets rough, and have the guts to stick up to a fellow friend in need.  To family, it's the responsibility to make sure that everything is kept in order and that you do the best you can to make your life the best of all.  To your loved ones, it's a responsibility to be loyal, to be truthful, and to face adversity in the eye and overcome it with mind, body, heart and soul.  Responsibility is a term that is universal.  It's like Uncle Ben said: "With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility."  The power you have is to make change in this slowly decaying world, and the responsibility you have is to yourself and all those around you.

responsibility to me is simple: be aware and take ownership of your actions and the consequences - every action having a reaction. i.e. take blame and praise where appropriate, and never dismiss something that you are a part of.

My main question here is why make this very charismatic speech? Did something happen?

No offense intended, but did you make this entirely to get likes? There's nothing revolutionary in what you said at all. It doesn't correct, ask, or answer a problem. It really has nothing to do with anything. We all know what responsibility is and why we have responsibilities. It looks to me like you just wrote up a post you thought sounded fancy and philosophical and thought people would like it. :/

Nope, nothing has happened. It's just that I like writing speeches.  It's my way of writing. :)

Nope, I didn't write it to get likes.  I wrote it because I wanted to express how I feel about Responsibility.  Is there a problem with that? (By the way, I'm not saying it in a disrespectful way.)  I wrote it simply because I felt like writing it. :)

Well then don't you think it probably belongs in writing? Because when you write about responsibility in Personal, everyone's going to think you're talking about some sort of respect issue that you're having IRL. When it ends up being some sort of speech that rephrases the exact same stuff we heard as little kids, then it seems like a plea for likes. TBH this entire thing just sounds like "RESPONSIBILITY IS GOOD AND WE HAVE IT". Was there supposed to be some other message about it in there than I'm missing? Because this seems kind of pointless and more like a dictionary entry. (again why it looks like a thread started only for likes)

He does pose a very good point. In this particular category it could come across as self-righteous posturing. It is clear now that that is certainly not the case, but maybe for the future you should bare that in mind. Still, I would keep writing these as the feeling takes you as they are well written and well developed sentiments that send a positive message to others. It's a time and place thing I guess! ^^,
