Tails 6,692 Posted January 23, 2013 I'm sorry if this pisses some people off but It just feels like that the whole "Let's bring out one KH game a year" thing just gives me a bit of a bad feeling that the series might become a little...how should i say...stale. Now, i love the KH series as much as any other person does but I just don't like where that might take the series. It just feels like that the only reason why Square has decides to make KH games every year because all other games franchises like Assassin's Creed, and Call of Duty are doing it. I just don't like the feeling of that because now it makes me feel like Square will rush through the development time of their KH games and make a lot of people get a little bit sick of KH because they keep coming out too often heck, it might make some people feel that Square is milking the franchise. But hey, there might be other people who would like to see KH games come out every year. Or not. Only the future can tell us. Again, sorry if this pisses a few people off. I just don't think that Square should rush out a new game every year. I think it's just better if they take more time making the games good. But to put this topic in short: I feel like the KH series might become the next CoD franchise 5 Mirr0rVS13, Terranort9406, Rayo_Rojo and 2 others reacted to this

Rob 5,571 Posted January 23, 2013 Rob is pissed. One pack of humans cant wait for the next KH game to come out, so they complain about that how long the game is taking. Another pack of humans complain about one KH game a year........ Result: Humans cannot be satisfied. 8 Keyblader, Sonic, Lexa Infinite and 5 others reacted to this

Always 309 Posted January 23, 2013 Erm...I don't know how I feel about it. On one hand, I totally dig not having to wait two or three years just to get my hands on the next installment...on the other hand, the fact that we are guaranteed a new KH game once each year kind of cheapens the experience, you know? There's something so rewarding about finally getting something you've been waiting so long for, which happened when we got KH2 and Re:CoM in the States. Now it's just kind of like, "Oh, another KH game, cool..." instead of "FINALLY IT'S HERE, I'VE AWAITED THIS FOR TWO+ YEARS!!!!" Haha IDK if I'm making any sense here. But yeah. There you go. Rayo_Rojo 253 Posted January 23, 2013 I have a similar worry.... If you havent seen "How to bring back The old Disney in a new way", go see that. In the video he makes a point of saying that Disney isnt taking enough interest, (that's the only word I can think of right now) In the KH series. Especially with that new Disney game coming out- I forget the name, Disney Universe or something- Disney is trying too hard. KH is so obviously the best option. Im just afraid that KH will never get the praise it deserves... 1 griann reacted to this

Rodo 55 Posted January 23, 2013 As long as Normua-san is directing the KH series i don't think it will become stale. Maybe after KH3, but not right now. The games have never been rushed out. Multiple teams have worked on the KH series overseen by Normua-san, including Jupiter (CoM), h.a.n.d (days & coded), former Osaka team (BBS & 3D) while the main team (KH & KH2) have been busy with the XIII saga/versus. Normua-san has said before he's testing different ideas out on the portable title, so he can make KH3 the way he wants. A game every year not to mention on a different system most times does still take it toll on the series. Square is milking the franchise with games like KH for PC browsers. I think if they release the HD remakes then KH3 the series will be solid.
Oishii 3,987 Posted January 23, 2013 But my game cases have always tasted kind of stale. I don't think a fresh one each year will change that
Dio Brando 5,810 Posted January 23, 2013 Could've said the same thing about Sonic games nowadays especially the modern ones get stale really fast(Sonic Generations was good but lacks challenge),but anyway I'll save that for another day. For me KH never got stale for me since I have alot of games to play until the next entry in the series, the only thing that got stale for me is the overabundance of Keyblade Wielders. However if there is a franchise that is truly got stale it has to be Final Fantasy 1 Ajexmi reacted to this

Sonic has been stale for a while, but they haven't given up on him and even made a very good racing game with Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. For me KH never got stale for me since I have alot of games to play until the next entry in the series, the only thing that got stale for me is the overabundance of Keyblade Wielders. Just wait till square makes a KH MMO then there will be an "overabundance" of Keyblade Wielders. However if there is a franchise that is truly got stale it has to be Final Fantasy Very true, FF All The Bravest
Axtwyt 500 Posted January 23, 2013 Kingdom Hearts is already becoming stale. Several games are just repeats of the first with minor exceptions to the story, while the newest installment is just lacking in most departments, the most notable being story. However if there is a franchise that is truly got stale it has to be Final Fantasy ^ this! sum up my feelings lol although the key difference between KH and Sonic is that KH follows (pretty much) one story, whereas the plot in Sonic games are inconsistent and therefore don't need to match up from game to game. If KH started doing this, I may just drop the franchise myself! Edited January 23, 2013 by Ajexmi

Caity 3,946 Posted January 23, 2013 I think it's fine with side games as long as they put full effort into them, but the main games on home consoles shouldn't be rushed. 1 Indecypher reacted to this

Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted January 24, 2013 I understand where you're coming from, and I've partly wondered that myself. Sometimes holding back and producing only three installments in a series is better than throwing out ten (alright, KH hasn't done that yet--but you know what I mean). I just think that if Kingdom Hearts becomes too available there'll be less people anxious for new games to come out. It'll seem too ordinary, not to mention commercial and mass-produced. I loved the first few installments to the series, but the last two... Well, let's just say I highly questioned them. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the series; I'm just concerned about its future if it keeps going at this rate.
