TwiliLord 232 Posted January 9, 2013 I'm a junior. Last year I took AP Euro, this year I'm taking AP U.S. history, AP Econ., and AP Language. What classes are you guys taking? If anyone is taking any of these classes, ask me for help if you're ever stuck an anything. Chat me or something.

Weiss 8,279 Posted January 9, 2013 I remember being in one of those back in 5th grade. I haven't been in anything like that since.
darkchaser 788 Posted January 9, 2013 What's the difference? I've heard of them but I have no idea what makes them different from AP classes. i think just in the classes a person will take, anyway i think the end goal is the same for both

ktbpiano 3 Posted January 9, 2013 I go to a college prep school so all of my classes are AP
TwiliLord 232 Posted January 9, 2013 What? Isn't AP just advanced placement? Like anything better than the current grade? o.o Yeah, it is. But I thought it was meant for high school students only, for college credit. I don't see the point of taking an AP class in elementary school, it would be too hard, and taking the AP test is impossible then.
Samantha Dominis 25 Posted January 9, 2013 I'm taking a dual credit Advanced English Composition course through my community college. It counts for both a high school and college credit. It is just a regular college course; it is only called advanced comp, because I am taking it in high school.
AJTREY 70 Posted January 9, 2013 Yeah, it is. But I thought it was meant for high school students only, for college credit. I don't see the point of taking an AP class in elementary school, it would be too hard, and taking the AP test is impossible then. AP Classes are generally offered only in High School. I took AP US History (Got a 5), AP US Government and Politics (Got a 3, still enough for credit).
VanitasisKirby 1,227 Posted January 9, 2013 Well, I took AP U.S. History last year...I'm taking AP Language this year, and a few other AP classes I'd rather not talk about. 1 TwiliLord reacted to this

Indecypher 495 Posted January 9, 2013 I took pre-ap when I was a freshman. Lolwhut? You took a college-level class in 5th grade? Damn bro! Not that strange, in 3rd grade I had the reading level of an 11th grader.
Protoman 1,974 Posted January 9, 2013 Not that strange, in 3rd grade I had the reading level of an 11th grader. nah man that reading level shit is total BS because I had stuff like that too it was like some sort of challenge to see if i could get a high level book and read it even if i didn't remember it a month later classic And anyway, I'm probably going to be taking some APs next year, likely for AP Euro and some high level maths, though it really depends on how I do in my math class for next semester
Roxas Illini 49 Posted January 9, 2013 Technically, I did not take AP classes in high school. My calculus class was structured like an AP class, because my teacher had teached AP calculus classes in the past. I also took the AP Chemistry test. I got a 5 on the Calculus AB AP test and a 4 on the Chemistry test.
Caity 3,946 Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) What is AP? Edit: Different continent, we have a different schooling system. Edited January 9, 2013 by Caity Raindrop
Jilly Shears 2,144 Posted January 9, 2013 What is AP? Edit: Different continent, we have a different schooling system. It's basically an advanced placement course you can take in high school so that you could knock out some college classes. (e.g. if you took "AP Calculus" and passed the standardized test at the end of a year with at least a 3 out of 5, you'd get college credit hours for it.)Anyway, I didn't take any AP classes until senior year - AP Calculus and Music Theory. I barely passed the Calculus one, but I got a 4 on the Music Theory one, which I kind of feel proud of since I was the only one in our class who passed it (keeping in mind that both our band teacher was terrible at teaching it and that there was only 3 other people with me lol). Ahh Well we don't offer those in my school but I am doing a course in collaboration with a University, I attend Uni every Friday and get extra UCAS points towards the end
Dracozombie 4,554 Posted January 9, 2013 I was never smart enough for AP classes, or interested in them. I guess you folks are smarter than when I was in high school, though considering how I was, it's not much to brag about.
Amon 4,279 Posted January 9, 2013 Currently in AP US History, AP Music Theory, Chamber Orchestra (count's as an AP class), AP English, and AP Physics. I would of gone into AP Spanish but then I realized I hated Spanish so I dropped it before the year started. 1 TwiliLord reacted to this
