As previously mentioned it's dangerous to show your face online due to stalkers and such types of people. People are generally complete assholes on the internet because it doesn't connect to them in real life, when you use your actual face you don't have that option and thus your opinions are associated with your face. Plus there's always trolls who criticize every minor flaw if you put up a picture of yourself and so it takes self-confidence or a thick skin to go through with it despite the risks.
