Dream Eating Seeker 2 Posted January 1, 2013 I need help beating Julius, the secret boss in Traverse Town. He's located next to the Fountain after you beat the game. I have beaten him with Riku, but I use Riku a different way than I do Sora. I have the ability Second Chance but not Once More. Also, I noticed that you can't use Dream Eaters in the battle, so don't tell me I need a Ryu Dragon and such. I'm currently lvl 41 and I'm using the Balloon Spells. 1x Balloon, 1x Balloonga, 2x (I forgot it's name, but it's the final version of Balloon) Thank you for replying! advfox 698 Posted January 1, 2013 He was a handful for me, especially on Critical Mode. When he uses his fist combo, I like to keep a fair distance before blocking, and then counter. When he is stunned, I use one of my balloon spells. I repeat this until he goes until lighting mode, and then I block the lighting bolts, and then flowmotion around the stage until he goes back to normal. Then, block, counter, balloon again, and the process repeats. Yea, I saw that he can make your spells take a long time to load with his fists. Also, If he uses body slam, won't I get hit? What Keyblade should I use? He actually locks the commands for a period of time. To dodge the body slam, your dodge/slide roll needs to be timed, but it isn't too hard. If you mean the attack when he jumps down on you from the highest building, that is extremely hard to dodge. Since Balloon spells will be your main source of damage here, a Keyblade high in magic would be preferable.

Robbie the Wise 5,050 Posted January 1, 2013 Julius is actually quite simple once you know what you're doing. While it is true that Balloon commands are the easiest way to take him down they aren't completely necessary. Now Sora contrary to believe is a lot more effective in this battle then Riku. Here are two sets of deck commands that I suggest. The first is the Balloon deck this for those who are uncomfortable with close combat. Balloonga, Balloon, Firaga Burst, Balloonra, Curaga, Curaga, Curaga The second deck command set is for those who are famillar with his moves and are comfortable with close combat. Circle Raid, Ars Arcanum, Sonic Blade, Faith(Aura Lion Command Board), Curaga Note: This deck in this battle is for the more skilled players although hope my step by step will help you get there. Now this battle is a lot easier if you have the all your reload abilities maxed out, you also need the ability Once More(Tyranto Rex Command Board). You don't absolutely need these but they help the battle go smoother and make it go faster. I recommend maxing out Frootz Cat I believe the site has working AR scans. You also need Block (Sliding Block if you're skilled), Counter Rush, Payback Raid, equipped. Now it should noted that Julius has four primary weaknesses. His first weakness is that it is easy to stun him if you break his combos. His second weakness is his punch combo is easy to counter if you (to be blunt) stand by his crouch area . His third weakness is his flying elbow attack after which he'll collapse for a short time. His final weakness is also his greatest strengh, during his desperation mode he'll jump on top of the building to pounce you. If he hits you with this move whatever command you set will be taken away and it's reload time will be slowed down. If you can break his combo before he lands he will be momentarily stunned. Now right of the bat dodge roll close to him(near his crouch area if you can). If you are using the second deck then prepare to block. If he uses his strong punch immediately use Counter Rush, if he uses his combo punches wait until he reaches the peak of his combo then execute Counter Rush(Note: If you're using Sliding Block back away a little further or else your block will miss). You can use the method to take down a sizable chunk of his health if done enough. If you're using the balloon based deck dodge out of harms way use Balloonga. The moment Balloonga hits back away again, and set up Balloon. Once Balloon is active roll outside of the ring and wait for Julius to come out to you. If the balloons to stun him quickly activate Firaga Burst, if he doesn't then prepare to block. Now when Julius goes for his diving elbow this is a prime time to get some decent damage. If you're using the Balloon based deck then dodge the attack, and use Firaga Burst. If you're using the second deck there are two options, you can use Faith to try, and break the attack which will stun him followed by Ars Arcanum. You can also dodge the attack, and use Sonic Blade this option is easier to execute as the previous one requires timing. If Julius knocks you into the air use Air Slide to escape, if he hits you counter with Payback Raid. Don't let him grab or he'll give a negative status change. After a while he'll go into desperation mode he'll summon lightning charges just dodge these. Once he's done with that roll in close, and use Ars Arcanum. Should he go rooftop there are three options you can utilize. Target Julius and use Sonic Blade you follow him up there (This one is a hit or miss as you could break his attack or lose Sonic Blade). Second option try, and use Faith to hit him and break the attack (has to be timed). Your third option is probably best option quickly go to the center of the stage as he comes toward roll out of the as fast as you can. Repeat these steps, and the battle should be yours. Indecypher 495 Posted January 2, 2013 I remember using Sonic Blade and being too quick for him. Of course there's always the Kh Wiki way. In order to provide for adequate defense, both Sora and Riku should equip Leaf Bracer, Once More, Second Chance, Poison Block, and Confuse Block. Their decks should both have at least two Curaga or Elixir commands. Increasing the Max HP of both characters is important, so make sure to clear both characters' Secret Portals. Although the character's Spirits will not be able to assist them directly, all active abilities will remain enabled during the battle. Side: SoraSora should be equipped with every evasive ability he has; Slide Roll and Double Impact are especially important. The End of Pain is the best Keyblade to equip, though both the Divewing and Unbound Keyblades will work as well. Sora's deck should have two or three Balloon-type commands, as well as either Sonic Blade or Ars Arcanum. Sliding Block is recommended for your block command. When Riku drops, purchase the highest Attack Gain, Magic Gain, Defense Gain, and Drop Decelerator bonuses that are affordable to prepare for the fight. Immediately dodge away from Julius when the battle begins. Once his first combo is over, cast a Balloon-type spell, and then return to dodging. Repeat this technique, and rather than risking it all to fight while at low HP, make sure to immediately find a safe spot and use Curaga or an Elixir. Whenever Julius appears vulnerable, such as after a body slam, use either Sonic Blade or Ars Arcanum to deal large amounts of damage to him. These commands leave Sora open for damage afterward, however, so make sure to dodge out of the way as soon as the attack ends. If Julius jumps up to the tallest building and jumps off of it, watch the map on the bottom screen to avoid the attack. If it lands, it will do great damage to Sora. A good way to dodge this attack is by using Superglide to fly around the arena. When Julius begins to summon lightning from the sky, make sure that Sora's health is more than half full. Julius will now have a lot more range to his attacks, so be sure to keep a distance and dodge away from any thunder that comes in Sora's direction. If Julius does his jump attack while charged, getting hit will cause the current selected command on the deck to enter a super-slow recharge time, making it even more important that the player uses Superglide to dodge this attack! Make sure that a healing command is not selected when Julius begins this attack, as losing them often leads to the end of the battle. Continue dodging Julius' combos and attack when possible, and eventually he will be defeated, unlocking the Ultima Weapon.
