SoraBlade 832 Posted December 31, 2012 What is the best way to beat him? I almost beat him with hardly any trouble with Sora, but the drop halted me from winning. It's the Riku Fight that kills me in 40 seconds. What is the best Dual Link? I use tons of potions, still gets me killed,
Robbie the Wise 5,050 Posted December 31, 2012 Is this the Secret Portal version of Wargoyle?
SoraBlade 832 Posted December 31, 2012 No. I should have added that. It's the normal one. On standard mode. I spend days trying to beat him. I can survive around maybe three minutes on Sora's, but I just phail on Riku.
KeyOfVentus 90 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) *Don't even bother quoting me on this, wrong information, sorry 'bout that* What level are you? you should be at least around level 7 to 10, and I just used Meow Wow's link and the dual link for riku, dual link it for some descent damage and spam flowmotion...and don't srop in the middle of it, he regains health... I was also on proud for my first playthrough, but still... Edited December 31, 2012 by KeyOfVentus
MikeHill005 0 Posted December 31, 2012 Odd, usually people have much more trouble with Sora's version of the boss. Just button mash and attack him while he's not doing anything. Fire works well, too. If you're REALLY having trouble, you could always spam freeflow off of the Cathedral.
SoraBlade 832 Posted December 31, 2012 Riku is lv. 13, Sora
KeyOfVentus 90 Posted December 31, 2012 Oh shit wargoyle! I had the completely wrong boss. Okay you're gonna want to have cura for it, one or two, as long as you can get to it quickly, and if you have one, have a cure or potion one or two spots away, so you rotate attack command with heal command also, lock on as much as possible... when he does the spinning attack for sora, dogde roll when it gets close enough to dodge it, then he'll get dizzy and it's possible to whack him a few times. When he starts to flail around and smash his hands at Sora, dogde roll or air slide to either side to whack him a few times before he turns, once or twice, don't overdo it. for riku, close distance at first byair sliding followed by sliding crescent attacks, dogde his close-range attacks with y. when it looks like he's covered in purple energy or flames, airslide in the opposite direction to make it easier to avoid. when it becomes tired, rush up and use reality shift on it. for both you're definitely gonna want to level grind quite a bit. for both my trick is to go from the square to the cathedral but you can't do that where you are, so go in and out and around of the town, go everywhere, don't leave a spot untouched, and find a route that saves as much time as possible with the drop gauge, don't waste your drop me nots, drop when it runs out, it'll maximize the given time, I'd say 5 to 7 more levels for both, and I'd try to keep their levels relatively easy, cause throughout the game there's a dramatic difficulty change along the way, so be on top of that. take the world level, add ten levels to it, you will never have a problem...although that's a bit dramatic, and don't forget to work the link boards in the spirit menu, it'll give you the most awesome stuff, but don't be paranoid with completing it, find the commands you need and move on, and don't forget you have mini games to help with those boards,
President Yoshi 313 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) he was probably the easiest boss i've ever faced (for both sora's and riku's sides) just have some cures, i stocked on fire on that fight, i also had dark firaga(for riku), and i never used riku's links (watever they're called) mainly because i feel like im more easier to ko during his combos. so yea jsut do that btw i was like lv 9 or 10 at that time on proud, so like usually hit and run in my first try against wargoyle Edited December 31, 2012 by Janaghan Jehatheesan
Robbie the Wise 5,050 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Sora is a lot simpler then Riku is and having access to the AR dream eaters makes it easier. It helps if you build your deck to work as a combo (meaning the next move compliments the previous one). For Sora I recommend using Quick Blitz, Blizzard Edge, Spark Dive, and Cure. Now with Sora Dodge Roll is a blessing with this fighting avoid his fireballs at all cost the take a lot of health and leave you wide open for attack. Once you find an opening(note: sometimes breaking his combo will stun Wargoyle) execute your deck command combo if he break up your combo dodge out of the way and heal. At certain intervals Wargoyle will execute his spinning chain attack, when he does this avoid it but stay close by him. When he finishes his attack he'll collapse, at this point go in use your regular X attack combo, and finish with Spark Dive. If your uncomfortable with close combo substitute Strike Raid instead of Quick Blitz. Repeat these steps, and you should good. For Riku it's a little trickier because it more of an aerial battle, and is trickier to maneuver. It should be noted this battle will be constant, meaning Wargoyle will not relent after certain attacks like Sora's Wargoyle. However Riku has a lot more room to dodge in the aerial part of the field. For Riku's deck I recommend Dark Firaga, Blizzard's Edge, Spark Dive, and Cure. Note if you have Poison Dive or Drain Dive substitute one for Blizzard's Edge as those have a better chance of hitting him without being stopped. Now as tempting as it is to stay on church platform it's actually a lot harder to fight there. Fighting in the air is you best bet. Riku's Wargoyle uses a series of blasts there easy enough to avoid just make sure you do once you find your opening go in and do your deck command combo. Heal if necessary, if your having trouble with close combat back off and spam Dark Firaga. Note:To avoid dropping make sure you drop before you enter both boss battles. SoraBlade 832 Posted December 31, 2012 Actually I did it without reading those. Thanks guys! I was extremely close to dropping in Sora's fight, but won both. I won Sora's first. And both Riku and Sora in the Grid.
