I can honestly say that I had no idea of what the true purpose of Organization 13 was before KH3D. It was kind of like a slap in the face to learn that the nobodies actually had hearts all along.

Maybe....But i don't think so.Braig only knew about Xehanort's plan in "vesseling" Terra so that's why he knew he was him when Terranort appeared in Radiant Garden...What's more his whole memory was erased when Xehanort (presented with the name of Ansem) took his heart out on his rage  at the library. In the period of Kingdom Hearts II and 358 2 days all organization members knew one purpose:claiming a heart from Kingdom Hearts ....

I had no idea.  I took their motives at face value, so I didn't think there was more to the group but GET KINGDUM HARTS 4 POWUH! or something along those lines.  I was fishy about their claims about not having a heart, at least when it came to Roxas, Axel, and Xion, but that's only because if it was unambiguously true, the games wouldn't have made the question a question at all.  It'd be like, "No, we don't have hearts," and "I wonder if we really have hearts..." and then it's like, "lol nope we were pulling your leg, they don't have hearts!"  Which would have made raising the issue a waste of time, and would be a dick move on Nomura's part.
