dusk 910 Posted December 13, 2012 I actually got this last month . Can you tell me little bit about your experiences with this? Is it as good as trailers look? How much time this consumes? Is it worth the money?

I would say it's worth the money, all of the tools are good too. The only thing missing that I would like to use is the ability to use your own sprites. However the developers did make this a quality program. Edited December 13, 2012 by prowerpower 1 dusk reacted to this
Jilly Shears 2,144 Posted December 13, 2012 you might as well just get RPG Maker 2003 if you want something free...well, *find* it because, well, yeah. :VOr you could get - especially since I've heard mixed things about VX. 2 dusk and hatok reacted to this
PillowHead 569 Posted December 13, 2012 I have VX Ace now, pretty fun. Takes patience to make what you want to though. It's pretty straight forward.
Silvia Kuroi 1,480 Posted December 13, 2012 I've had VX Ace for awhile now, and I like it. It's simple enough to understand, and it's easy enough to find 'scripts' that edit, add, or change the engine itself to make it far more diverse.

DragonMaster 1,166 Posted December 13, 2012 (edited) This looks pretty good, actually. It seems there is a "Lite" version on the Steam Store, so maybe you could try that? I'm actually pretty tempted to download the trial myself, as this looks pretty good. I don't have it, but it looks like its pretty fully featured. I've actually delved into RPG making myself, though I used this program called Engine001. The free version lets you make RPGs, and has a good deal of pre-made art assets for characters and environments. The means of "coding" it were very simple as well. It wasn't nearly as featured as this looks though. So, I guess I'd say try that "Lite" version, and see if its something you'd be willing to pay that hefty price for. EDIT: Okay, I caved and downloaded the trial. I actually like it. Map making was really easy, and the character creator looks like its pretty simple (though, you can't actually create a character in the trial). There is a bunch of pre-made content (sprites, tiles, etc.). I tried to get a battle set up, but I couldn't figure it out. I can't tell how limited the trial is, but I definitely hope to mess around with it some more. Edited December 14, 2012 by DragonMaster
