Col.Random 3,683 Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) So yeah this just happened right now and i got out of bed to narrate the experience before i'd forget x3And yes this really just happened.Almost half an hour ago i went to sleep. As usual, i made sure the room was dark because i prefer to sleep that way except for the little bit of red light that came from the mosquito repellant-thing. Kinda gives me a feeling of nostalgia. So i laid down on my bed, covered myself up in my blanket with the fan on at it's lowest speed (which is still pretty fast though)As i tried to sleep i began to hear a strange noise, some sort of cracking noise. It was light at first but then i heard a loud one and it freaked me out a bit, then there was a pause.I tried to sleep again (i was pretty sleepy) and there it was again, louder than before. Then again, the same as the previous. Now i was alert(For the record, there's a good number of paranormal incidents that have happened in my house and at least one or two i've experienced myself. Also i'll admit, paranormal stuff scares me, a lot, yet, somehow, i managed to pull through tonight)The noise had stopped for a while and i decided that if paranormal things exist then so would God and blah-blah-blah i'd be safe. I also tried to reach the conclusion that the cause of the noise was a rat outside or some thing like that. I was wrong.I recited a few verses just to be safe. Like i said, paranormal stuff scares me.Then, i heard it again. Not very loud this time, but soon it was. It started to sound more like something was being dragged across the glass desk in the room. Now it was more frequent, and i heard the noise more often. I also felt colder on one side of my face, but i dismissed that to be caused by the fan.I decided to ignore it and try to sleep. For a while the noise stopped, then it came at a low volume, but i ignored it.Then suddenly i heard it again and this time it was at it's loudest, scaring the living firetruck out of me. I couldn't take it anymore and decided i should leave the room immediately. As i got up and walked to the switch i decided running wasn't the option and whatever would happen, would happen. I turned on the switch in what, although looked like anger, was more like a bit of fear. I switched on the lights and all was clearI walked towards the curtains where i suspected the noise came from. Half expecting to encounter the most horrific thing i had ever encountered, yet mostly hoping it would be a rat. I pulled the curtains and nothing was there. There was just silence.I then heard the noise again and this time it was right by the door and i saw it. Imagine how stupid i felt when i realized that it was a plastic cheese wrapper that was causing the noise when the fan blew it across the floor. Oishii 3,987 Posted December 11, 2012 I'm sorry to break this to you, but your cheese wrapper is most likely haunted. You should hire a priest to get it exorcised. 5 Keyblader, Azzurro, OathkeeperRoxas and 2 others reacted to this

Azzurro 36 Posted December 12, 2012 That actually sounds terrifying, of course I'm personally not fond of plastic cheese wrappers.
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted December 12, 2012 Ahhhh, I've done something very similar before! Only it was a plastic bag instead of a cheese wrapper. It's crazy how much noise plastic makes, eh? Glad it didn't end up being an intruder or worse a rat, though.
Chronic Tumor 149 Posted December 13, 2012 Let me psychoanalyze your ordeal So yeah this just happened right now and i got out of bed to narrate the experience before i'd forget x3And yes this really just happened.Almost half an hour ago i went to sleep. As usual, i made sure the room was dark because i prefer to sleep that way except for the little bit of red light that came from the mosquito repellant-thing. Kinda gives me a feeling of nostalgia.Obviously you are in Africa because what house in the civilized world needs one of these. You must be very rich because you have your own room and are able to actively combat malaria in a way that does not involve awkward mosquito net beds. So i laid down on my bed, covered myself up in my blanket with the fan on at it's lowest speed (which is still pretty fast though)As i tried to sleep i began to hear a strange noise, some sort of cracking noise. It was light at first but then i heard a loud one and it freaked me out a bit, then there was a pause. Even in Africa the winters are cold, and since there are different seasons in different hemispheres (Aaron and DC can back me up on this. It is snowing in the US and summer in Australia). You must be a crazy, rich African because you have electricity and a fan, but the real clue was blankets. The noise must be a leopard who is hot because it is hot outside your room and you are able to cool your room with your many dollars, which is attractive to night animals. I tried to sleep again (i was pretty sleepy) and there it was again, louder than before. Then again, the same as the previous. Now i was alert More proof you are being hunted(For the record, there's a good number of paranormal incidents that have happened in my house and at least one or two i've experienced myself. Also i'll admit, paranormal stuff scares me, a lot, yet, somehow, i managed to pull through tonight) House nothing. Your father is not a warlord dictator. You live in an elaborate hut with ROOMS! And don't go on and on about this parablather. It is obviously bats and crocodiles. The noise had stopped for a while and i decided that if paranormal things exist then so would God and blah-blah-blah i'd be safe. I also tried to reach the conclusion that the cause of the noise was a rat outside or some thing like that. I was wrong. Or gazelles I recited a few verses just to be safe. Like i said, paranormal stuff scares me. Precautions are goodThen, i heard it again. Not very loud this time, but soon it was. It started to sound more like something was being dragged across the glass desk in the room. Once again, you are in Africa and you are not the child of an oil empire executive, so it is really just a cheap plastic, or wood that you paid some up and coming African artist to look transparent, when in reality he just painted the dirt floor on your desk. Good job on supporting local artistsNow it was more frequent, and i heard the noise more often. I also felt colder on one side of my face, but i dismissed that to be caused by the fan. I decided to ignore it and try to sleep. For a while the noise stopped, then it came at a low volume, but i ignored it. Perhaps small gazelles? Then suddenly i heard it again and this time it was at it's loudest, scaring the living firetruck out of me. I couldn't take it anymore and decided i should leave the room immediately. And go where? Whichever it is (leopard or lion) can just jump through the walls because despite your ability to afford electricity your walls are made of cardboard and dreams. As i got up and walked to the switch i decided running wasn't the option and whatever would happen, would happen. I turned on the switch in what, although looked like anger, was more like a bit of fear. I switched on the lights and all was clear Actually, your underpants were quite soiled, which is extra embarrassing because anyone under constant threat of lions would have gotten over it by now I walked towards the curtains where i suspected the noise came from. Half expecting to encounter the most horrific thing i had ever encountered, yet mostly hoping it would be a rat. Your "curtains" are really the skins of rats, aren't they?I pulled the curtains and nothing was there. There was just silence.I then heard the noise again and this time it was right by the door and i saw it. Imagine how stupid i felt when i realized that it was a plastic cheese wrapper that was causing the noise when the fan blew it across the floor. ( --_______________--)" Well, if you would stop stealing from American tourists you wouldn't have this problem. (Note: Europeans have the class to slice their own cheese and do not need individually wrapped slices)

Think Pink 1,967 Posted December 13, 2012 I was starting to look over at my room and think ohmygod I'll never sleep again, until I read the ending. The paranormal scares me more than anything else could. If I were you I would've run outside screaming after the first sound.
