It was surprise that Jack attacked someone during a fight combined with the shock that she almost lost one of the last things that maintained the connection between her and her father. She stuck it into her bag and kept watching the fight, now concerned that Jack was going to get into trouble and that Joshua was going to get injured pretty badly. Seriously, Jack!
