hatok 6,413 Posted November 21, 2012 Looking over their fairly recent history... so many games have been forcibly regressed by Shigeru Moyamoto. A recent example is his attack on Paper Mario, forbidding them from using any original characters, and essentially destroying the great plots of previous Paper Mario games. He did something similar with Donkey Kong Country Returns, forbidding the use of classic enemies, while simultaneously forbidding the use of any original music. There are many interviews talking about him flipping the proverbial table when people suggest changing the formula of Zelda or Mario, which leads to the bland, soul-less creations we see nowadays. The man is actively working to keep story out of video games, keep game design philosophy in the 80's, and just overall stop anybody but him from trying something new. but it's not just Shigeru. Nintendo as a whole just makes some mind boggling stupid choices, as evidenced by the Wii U which, while technically superior in some ways, has many parts that are drastically inferior to its competition from six years ago. Nintendo constantly professes that it 'has no competition' showing a huge ego and given them a free ticket to make no attempt to keep up with competition. Also as far as they're concerned, there is no room to improve on what they have (As they don't need to worry about competition, as they have none) so they simply stagnate, selling the same well designed, but functionally identical, game on a yearly basis. This is the thing that Call of Duty gets flak for all of the time, yet Nintendo has brazenly been doing this with multiple franchises for years. So, my words of advice, don't give Nintendo a free ticket. Don't support something jsut ebcause it's Nintendo. They need to learn that they have to keep stepping up their game like they used to, rather than resting on its laurels 8 Snow, Ultima Weapon, axele and 5 others reacted to this

Hei 3,233 Posted November 21, 2012 I miss the days of the Super Nintendo and the N64. Nintendo did everything right back then. 2 darklunatic and axele reacted to this

dusk 910 Posted November 21, 2012 Angry nintendo fans are coming. This is true, I just don't get how Nintendo is the god and savior of the video game industry which never fails its' fans and always succeeds at anything at it does. They never try to milk money out from their series and respect their fans. Really? Nintendo isn't all that great and Wii U isn't any powerhouse. Fun fact: nintendo fans are usually the people who tell the others to stop being fanboys when they are the ones who don't see the flaws of their 'gods'. 1 axele reacted to this

Snow 1,800 Posted November 21, 2012 Yeah, I agree with you. Nintendo made a good game once back in the 80's, and they keep revamping and remaking it, but I guess they don't feel like making original ideas anymore. Same goes with the other games. Man,gotta love claims with no proof while I agree that Nintendo of the past is better, that doesn't mean you can compare a high quality title like Zelda to Call of Duty???????? are you serious???? comparing this to Call of Duty of all games is just the usual anti-nintendo comments that filled the internet just because Bayonetta went to the Wii U Edited November 21, 2012 by Metal Snake 3 Isaix, Mirr0rVS13 and Tails reacted to this

This pretty much shows nintendo fan's blindness, they are always the victims even though they seem to be ones who have been going around spreading the word about Wii U and how awesome it will be. Snow 1,800 Posted November 21, 2012 And Sony is not the God or the savior Fun Fact: Sony fans are the ones who comes and say F^&^* Wii U and when you do the same for their console they accuse you of being a fanboy The Wii-U was made with really cheap parts, and isn't really a good all around system, so it can't be just Sony fans.Sony isn't God or The Savior either, they do make their internet capabilities free and video services if you have the subscription, even though their security is shitty. So Sony is your man if you don't ever plan on using credit cards to get games from PSN.

Hei 3,233 Posted November 21, 2012 He did something similar with Donkey Kong Country Returns, forbidding the use of classic enemies, while simultaneously forbidding the use of any original music. They had to do that since Rare was the company who made the Donkey Kong Country series, not Nintendo. Rare is with Microsoft now (Microsoft screwed the company) and many of those ideas can't be used since they own them.
Dio Brando 5,810 Posted November 21, 2012 I never said Wii U is good or bad because I hadn't bought it yet. You can't judge the Wii U in just his first month of release. and I have to say a lot about the entire Anti-Nintendo things that started with Bayonetta 2.But I'll save that for later. but I'm gonna say: Will you be happy if I done THIS: Sony sucks and anyone who opposes me is a fanboy.
