PS3 Imitating the Wii U

Recommended Posts

Competition between the big 3 is nothing new, but it looks like Sony is trying to compete with Nintendo without rushing to release the PS4. The Sep 17th update to the PS Vita introduced the "Cross-Controller" feature that enables the PS Vita to act as a 2-in-1 Controller/2nd screen for the PS3 much Like the Wii U GamePad. So, you guys think KH3, Last Guardian or FFvsXIII (If they releases during the PS3s lifetime) will be Cross-Controller compatible? And what other games/series could take advantage of this.

I like Sony (PS for life) but I don't think they've ever beaten Nintendo to a technological advancement (except the move from cartridge to disk) the Wii had Motion Controllers at launch where as the PS Move was an update. The Cross-Controller function only came out after it was announced that the WII U GamePad would have a built-in screen (but before the actual release). I'm not saying they're copy cats. If that were the case it would have taken them much longer to create the tech, but they do always seem to be a step behind. Edited by Sora_Kuno

Umm, Sony isn't alone. Microsoft is doing the same thing by turning any smart device into a second screen. I think Microsoft has the smartest idea because they are using devices many people already own. We'll just see how they do on execution.

Final Fantasy XIII Versus has been development for the PlayStation 3 since 2007. The PlayStation 3's life span will end late 2016 at the earliest. I reckon it'll last to 2019 though.

Sony don't need to release the PlayStation 4 yet. Nintendo had to release the Wii U while Microsoft have to release the Xbox 720 in 2013.

And what makes you so sure that 2016 is when the PS3's lifespan will end? You can't just assume when a console's lifespan will end.

What? Okay no offence but this post kinda doesn't make any sense. For one, they only made one "smart device" which is the new Smart Glass that's supposed to "become better than the Wii U". Second, Sony has also been making devices that people have already own.

If you read my post correctly I wouldn't need to respond to you right now.

I think you may be confused. Smart Glass is an application. To my knowledge, there is no actual tablet type device called a "Smart Glass". http://www.xbox.com/en-US/smartglass -- Official site. Says "Xbox SmartGlass turns your mobile phone or tablet into a second screen that intelligently interacts with your Xbox 360 to elevate your entertainment experience." A quick google search seems to be telling me that the application is compatible on non-Microsoft devices as well. Of course, I may be misinterpreting your post. Edited by DragonMaster

I hope you know they have done this before the Wii U

Not really, you could use the PSP as a controller and you could display the PSP game on you're TV, but it didn't act as a Dual-Screen like the Wii U GamePad or

PS Vita.

Yeah yeah, we know it. Sony and Microsoft are evil people who just want to make money and always copy other developers and they don't care about their games and Nintendo is savior that never fails its' fans and it always comes up with original ideas and they always do everything right.

Well at least Sony is more original with most of their IPs unlike Nintendo...*cough*New Super Mario Bros,New Super Mario Bros. Wii and New Super Mario Bros Wii U*cough*

Yes. Nintendo is well known for their unoriginal IPs

Like |Kid Icarus.

Metroid

zelda

Kirby

steel Diver

Dillon's Rolling Western

Pushmo

Nintendo Land

Pikmin

Find Mii

The 3DS

The Wii U

Severe lack ofcreatvity, with no unique or trend setting ideas so eve... oh wait

(Conversely, we have what? inFAMOUs 2 with more of the same. Little Bog Planet 2 with more of the same. A Smahs Bros rip off. A wii knock off...)
