Vanitas

I began pouring as much energy as I could stand into Lexa. I felt myself fall, as if I were going to the Awakening. I felt something brush my arm as I fell into the black abyss and I grabbed it.

I sighed in relief. "How's it going?" Rixec said. "I found her." I said. "I really need to concentrate, so try to remain silent."

I saw something take form, but as it did, my heart gave a shudder, starting to give in. "Rixec, I need a little help here!" I said, quickly. "Right!" He said and I felt his hand cover mine. I winced slightly at the Light that course through my hand, but ignored it.

"Well?!" Sephirix asked. As he said this, I began to see Lexa's Awakening, dim and dark, return. "Good so far. It's a good thing she wears her heart on her sleeve." I said. "We're getting there, but is it enough?" Rixec said. "No..." I said, analyzing the situation. "One of you, I don't care who, get over here!" I added swiftly as I felt my heart weaken again. "I'm on it." I heard Xoncron say. "Hurry..not sure...how much more-" Rixec began to say as a huge energy surge flowed through a third hand.

"By Kingdom Hearts, how strong is she?!" I said. Even after that, her heart demanded more energy, making me wince. "Sephirix!" I said. "Of course!" He said, placing his hand on top. "Dang, I don't think with four of us it's enough!" Rixec said. "Don't worry. It's not four." Sephirix said. I felt a even larger surge of energy enter and the Awakening began to glow brighter. "Hmm?" Rixec said.

I heard a voice as the four began to speak. "Leave me....I deserve this....I have committed the ultimate crime and must pay the ultimate price....""What are you talking about?" Xoncron at the same time as I said, "Did you hear that?!!"

I felt a jolt of energy again. "I'm using the energy Replicanitas gave me! The energy he died for!" Sephirix said. "Whoa..." Rixec said.

I heard the voice again. "Let me fade....It'd be better for everyone if I just...went away..."

"Did you hear that?" Rixec said. "It's her..."Sephirix said. "Yes." Xoncron agreed. "Yeah, I think it's Lexa!" I said, joyously. "Lexa, you can't give in, not now! I need you!" "Do not do this to me!" Sephirix call out. "We all need her." Xoncron said. "We all need you! So come out before we drag you out ourselves!" Rixec said.

"It'd be better if I was just...a ghost...a nothing...It is all I am.." I felt a wave of emotion: sorrow, anger, betrayal, jealousy, yes, jealousy, hate, such, deep, deep sorrow.

"I DESTROYED THE ONE I CALLED FRIEND WITH MY FIRE!" I felt anger rising over the sorrow, then fall again. "I-I-I....can't do that again....."

"Sephirix is alright!" Xoncron called. "LEXA, STOP BEING MELODRAMATIC AND GET THE HELL OVER IT!" I yelled at her. Sephirix yelled much louder. "GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE RIGHT NOW! YOU OWE ME, DAMMIT! YOU'VE PUT ME THROUGH HELL SINCE YOU REVIVED ME! YOU'RE NOT GETTING OFF THAT EASY!" "Hurry! Before Sephirix deafens us!" Rixec said.

"If I hadn't done what I did....you'd be dead...I wished you all would just....let go...It hurts so much..." I felt a wave of emotional pain emanate from the the voice. "Our group is falling apart without you." Xoncron said. "So, our answer to pain is to run like a coward?" Rixec replied to her. "COME OUT!" Sephirix yelled again. I had to do something, something that would rekindle Lexa's inner-fire.

"YOU PROMISED ME LEXA! YOU WERE ALWAYS GOING TO BE THERE FOR ME! I-" I was struck by inspiration and I found the right words to say. "I'M GOING STRAIGHT BACK TO XEHANORT IF YOU GIVE UP!""NO!" The voice yelled. "I'm pretty sure he's serious." Xoncron said. "BECAUSE IT'S SO PLAINLY OBVIOUS ALL YOU SAID ABOUT THE HEART WAS A LIE, LEXA! STOP ACTING LIKE XERO AND COME OUT!" I roared at her. "Maybe he should! After all, why would he stay with a coward that won't face her demons!"

Thank you, Rixec; You really know how to piss her off.

"I AM NOT A COWARD! I AM NOT XERO! SHUT UP!" The voice screamed. "PROVE IT TO US!" Sephirix challenged. "I'LL SHOW YOU!" The voice roared, infuriated. "DAMN RIGHT, YOU WILL!" Sephirix yelled back. "I DON'T CARE IF IT KILLS ME-" The voice yelled again. "Lexa?!" Rixec said. "KICK YOUR ASS!"

The voice didn't sound so disembodied now; this was full-fledged, beautiful, pissed as hell, Lexa. "Ha, ha! There we go!" Rixec said, triumphantly. "There's the Lexa we know and love." Xoncron replied. Unfortunately, or fortunately, if you look at it from a different angle, Lexa was still spitting mad and was now in a ranting mood.

"CALL ME A COWARD, WILL YOU, YOU SONS OF BITCHES!?" Lexa roared. "OH, COME ON, IS THAT THE BEST YOU GOT?!" I replied. "KISS MY ASS, XEHANORT SPAWN!" .......Ouch. "PRINCESS!" I retaliated. "HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT, JERK!" Lexa yelled. "HOW ABOUT DAMSEL?!" Sephirix replied. "In distress?" Rixec said. "OF COURSE!" Sephirix yelled again. Looks like he was fired up as well. Good; that jackass knew how to get her fired up as well. "I AM NO ONE'S DAMNED PRINCESS,  NOT EVEN YOURS, VANITAS!" She yelled again. "OH, DAMSEL, OH-HO-HO, NOW YOU'VE DONE IT!" "I don't see you doing anything about it!" Rixec challenged. "AT LEAST I'M NOT A MESS-UP VERSION OF KADAJ, SEPHIRIX!"

".....Ouch. I don't think she meant that" I winced at the insult. That had to hurt. "BURN!" Xoncron said, but Lexa had gone into full-force rant mode against us.

"AT LEAST I CAN STAND FOR MYSELF!""IS THAT ALL YOU GOT?!" Sephirix said. "PATHETIC!""Say it to his face, woman! Get out here!" Rixec said."I AM THE QUEEN OF HEARTS! AND I WILL NOT GIVE IN TO THIS, YOU TRAITOROUS-"

Lexa suddenly appeared on the Station of Awakening and it glowed brightly as she did. Her face was red, full of fury, as she yanked her wrist from my grip, walked to Sephirix and backhanded him so hard that he hit the ground. "HOW DARE YOU CALL ME ALL THAT AFTER YOU DID THAT TO ME, YOU-" Sephirix stood up and smirked. "You're welcome." He said and hugged her. "GET THE HELL OFF OF ME,YOU  PERVERTED-" "Excuse me, Sephirix." I pulled Lexa out of his arms and into mine, and I kissed her before she could say another word out. "You okay, Seph?" I heard Rixec say in the background. "Yep!" He answered.

Lexa pushed me away."Vanitas, WHAT THE HELL?!" She said. She scanned the four of us. "Right now, I'm not in the mood to be talking to any of you asshats." She said. "Lexa, calm down for a ^%&*ing moment." Rixec said.

Lexa might have been infuriated with us all right now, but I didn't care. I had her back and I wasn't going to let her go again.

Lexa

I stood, tapping my feet. Vanitas put his hand on my shoulder. "Lexa, you seriously need to take Sephirix's advice and chill out. Let us explain, okay?" He said. I looked up at him for a moment then sighed. "....Fine, but I'm still not happy."

"Well, we are." Rixec said. "Damn right we are." Sephirix said, grinning triumphantly. "Understandable." Xoncron added. "Why's that?" I said, tilting my head a bit. "Hmm, I wonder why - oh, yeah, you've been in a coma!" Rixec stated. "I have?" I said, bewildered, quickly turning alarmed. "How long?! What-" "It's a long story." Sephirix said. "With heartache." Xoncron added. "What did the four of you do?" I deadpanned, knowing they had most likely been up to something while I was away. "The group fell apart." Xoncron said. "You didn't do anything stupid, like go psycho and kidnap someone, did you?" I said. Every head turned toward Sephirix, who then proceeded to whistle rather innocently. "Not me. Recently." He said. I shook my head. "'Recently', Sephirix?" I said. "You know what, it doesn't matter."

"Rixec was framed for murder." Xoncron piped in.  "Xero?" I guessed. "No." Rixec said. "Replicron." Xoncron said with a scowl on his face. "A Replica?!" I said, alarmed. "And he wasn't the only one." Sephirix said. I raised an eyebrow. "You've missed a lot. Where should we start?" Rixec said. "We can start by figuring out how the hell we get out of here." Vanitas said. "I think I have a way." I said. "Give me a minute; I just need to find the door." I closed my eyes for a moment and felt power rising. "Oh!" I opened my eyes and saw a simple white door appear. "There it is!" I said. "You sure?" Rixec asked. "Positive." I answered. "Can't be any more dangerous than your plan for trying to save Lexa from Xero." Sephirix said. "You'll have to teach me that trick." Xoncron mused, impressed. I laughed. "C'mon."

I opened the door and marveled at the sight of a huge, grand hall. The ceilings vaulted higher and higher, arching, curving sharply, the walls made of white marble, the floor the same, but of a slightly darker grey, red tapestries hanging from the walls, lined with gold, giving the room a hearty look. The windows were stained, frosty glass, but sunlight shone through them, adding a warm light to the room. Fireplaces dotted the room, along with a few tables with ancient books and spare paper. "Whoa...." I said. "Where are we?" Vanitas said, just as amazed. "I think this is my heart." I said, looking around just the same as everyone else.

"Nice dress." Vanitas commented. I looked down. I was in a red and black dress that went just below my knees. I noticed that the boys were all in tuxedos, old fashioned ones with tailcoats. "Our clothes changed." I said, amazed. "Dang." Rixec said, noticing his attire. "At least I look good." Sephirix said, straightening his tuxedo a bit. "You look dashing, V." I said to Vanitas, smiling. "You have a fancy mind, Lexa." I smiled warmly, appreciating the compliment from Rixec. "So, what now?" Xoncron said. I thought for a moment.

"That door." I pointed at it. "I've never tried it before." We had a brief discussion about who would go in first, which resulted in me being chosen, rather reluctantly, I must admit. I opened the door to the room, but quickly shut it, my face flushed. "Oh, my God." I said, turning back. "Um...no, I really don't want you all in there." Vanitas looked at me, confused. "What's in there?" "Nothing." I replied quickly. "Now we have to go in." Rixec said. "Let's go, then." Sephirix said, walking behind him. "I feel we should respect Lexa's privacy." Xoncron said, taking my side. "Come on, I REALLY, REALLY, really don't want you all to see...Fine, but don't judge me." I said, conceding defeat. "I think we're the last ones to judge you, Lexa." Rixec said, reassuringly. "Agreed; we're a messed up group after all." Sephirix added.

I slowly opened the door and lead them in. More stained glass shed violet light upon the armory-like room. Violet colored tapestries covered this one, a few of the same colored feathers hanging in the corners and rafters. The center piece of the room was a stained glass window of Xoncron and I standing back to back, our Keyblades parallel to each other, ready to fight at any moment, my small frame dwarfed by his larger one. "...Why wouldn't you want us to see this, Lexa?" Vanitas asked. "Because it shows Xoncron in a good light." Sephirix said. I looked at him and bopped him in the back of the head. "Good to have you back." Sephirix said, grinning.

"...This path leads and shows what I truly feel for all of you. In other words, when this is over..I'll have no secrets." I explained. "Shall we go on?" Rixec said. I nodded. "Let's find the next door."
