Lulcielid 159 Posted November 7, 2016 (edited) Comments on Episode 3: Animation on characters model has definetely come along way, can feel the improvements. Dissapointed with Sun´s absent of abs  Yang has not reach the edgy horizon yet, still depressed about her. Sun and Blake is V4 OTP. Sun tailed Blake for 6 months without being noticed, best junior detective ever, send him to spy on Salem. Won't lie, Blake's new outfit looks pretty awesome in action. Interesting how Ironwood, the Tin Man, the character who is supposed to have no heart, is one of the kindest and most compassionate people out of everyone in the series. Gotta say, that slipped my mind about Sun watching over Blake for six months. Or maybe trying to track her down for six months. Back in the day, he took care of her for two days. #RWBYOTP Shipped Blake and Sun on a ship so you can ship them while they ship them on a ship. 1 Yessie Maltese reacted to this

Clouded Sun 1,232 Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) Sun Wukong is a character with snark, style, wit, and a hairstyle that needs more polygons than all of Ruby Rose. He's almost as frequently appeared in RWBY as Team JNPR has. But, he's a pretty split character between the fanbase since he's made an appearance in almost every arc since his first appearance in Volume 1; some people find him completely awesome while others find him annoying. Yet, there is one consensus about him; with all the appearances he's had, Sun needs character development. The same can arguably be said for Ren and Nora of team JNPR. The two have obviously had a long history that's unknown to the fanbase (which is gonna be shown this volume if I'm not mistaken), but they have generally been the same characters as when we've seen them in Volume 1. Ren is cool and mysterious (but ironically gets beat up a lot) and Nora is the "fun" factor of JNPR. They're both extremely cool characters from the looks of it... But what more can we know? What are your thoughts on character development? Should these characters be fleshed out, or is their appeal to the story enough to keep them relevant? Are there any other recurring characters that deserve some development? Edited November 12, 2016 by Clouded Sun 1 Arya Stark reacted to this
AwesomeKHfan 1,250 Posted November 12, 2016 (edited) I didn't really feel it with this Episode. It was a good one and the fight scenes were good (except I don't like the style of the fight scenes in this volume yet but I probably get used to it) For someone here with a form of depression and has some kind of trauma (no I haven't expierenced getting disarmed people or got stabbed anything like that) seeing Yang being like that gave me bad feelings and flashbacks and also with Blake kinda. I am not gonna post stuff like this everytime I just want to discuss the Episode, there a lot of Final Fantasy scenes in this Why was Sun wearing a cloak? TheKeyofRose 282 Posted November 16, 2016 (edited) Eh most people know I'm not that big of a fan of Sun (He's cool and all but he really came off as a creepy stalker he should of revealed himself once Blake saw him and all...)Yang's depression and not looking at the robot arm is spot on thank you RT for not going with the trope of she'll put it on instantly and be all better. Cinder thinks she killed Ozpin and I'm like. Liked the new WoR still really feel like they should put them right before the volume or after the volume but I'll live. The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted November 16, 2016 THIS IS A SPOILER TAG! SPOILERS, HUMANS! BEWARE OF THE SPOILS THAT SPOIL SPOILINGLY! Well humans, I think it's safe to say that Volume 4 of this story is turning out to be quite the hoot! I've experienced quite the dark stories in my time, but seeing how these people are facing adversities and danger around every turn, it makes me happy! To me, the highlights of this volume so far have been: When Renny seems to be all angsty and more serious than usual in that burnt down town! And the look that Nora gave him when they saw a certain symbol on the ground indicates to this eye of mine that some more backstory between them will be revealed, maybe? Weiss. She seems to be very shy and out of place in her home! Well, being with a group such as Ruby's can change people, so it seems Weiss is having a little trouble adjusting, and it looks like her dad's as stiff as ever! Also, SHE'S GONNA SING! SOMETHING I THOUGHT I'D NEVER SEE! And Klyne seems like a kindhearted butler, with multiple personalities! I like him! That scene with Jauny-boy training in the middle of the night while listening to a recording of Pyrrha. Now, I'll admit, even though I'm a destructive being, seeing that scene gave me goosebumps, and a tear came out of my eye! It was definitely an impacting and powerful scene! Yang is all messed up, as I expected! How she'll recover will be interesting to see! Blake is on her own, with Sun in tow! This should be fun! Well, hey, I'm here for the rest of the month, so I figure that I should watch the shows you humans watch to entertain myself when I'm not destroying universes! Can't wait to see what else happens! 1 Clouded Sun reacted to this

I guess any actual justification points to the fact that Blake would just run away again, or that Sun tried to wait for a macho moment to reveal himself to Blake for points. The way he was revealed was what I expected, but hoped wouldn't happen.
OmegaForte 1,674 Posted November 16, 2016 (edited) It's ironic that Sun would be the type of person who I would dislike, but I have yet to do so. I like how he's trying to comfort Blake, even if people think he's a stalker. If anything, it's his partner in crime I don't like much, probably because of how cowardly he is towards water, yet tries to be cool. lol Edited November 16, 2016 by OmegaForte
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted November 17, 2016 Is anyone else thinking that Ozpin might be hiding around some little corner of the world, planning an attack against pale skinned evil lady? Because he's a powerful human, and I doubt that Cinder would've killed him that easily! Hmm...

Emrys 3,192 Posted November 19, 2016 (edited) RAVEN! Raven and her clan attacked the village team RNJR went to. Holy crap. That might complicate things. Qrow apparently left that clan due to his dislike of how they do things. Speaking of Qrow, hes been killing Grimm that were following RNJR without them noticing like a boss. I think Yangs gonna get back in the fight after talk with Port and Oobleck. She put the arm on and everything. The scene with the farmer boy ( apparently named Oscar) confuses me. I dont know what he saw in the mirror that gave him pause or why he heard Ozpins voice. Maybe I missed a detail. Emrys 3,192 Posted November 19, 2016 WAIT A GODDAMN SECOND. The farmer boys name is Oscar? In wizard of Oz the wizards name is ' Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Noman Henkel Emmanuel Ambroise Digg' Coincidence? Idk maybe, but likely not. He heard Ozpins voice and his names Oscar so im just going to assume they are related somehow.
Arya Stark 1,337 Posted November 20, 2016 I can't see Sun as a stalker... He's just trying to help. He knows she's trying to distance herself from other people, and he knows that that behavior is very unsafe right now. The best case scenario for him would be to tag along but y'know, out of the way, so that she doesn't lose him too. Do his best to keep her safe but also not get in the way of what she feels she needs to do. And, exactly as he said in the episode, he assumed she needed a partner for a badass attack on the White Fang, opposed to just going home. Being a stalker implies some malicious or creepy intent I think, when Sun's intentions were/are wholly good. Just wants to make sure she's safe. 3 The Transcendent Key, Clouded Sun and Yessie Maltese reacted to this
Clouded Sun 1,232 Posted November 20, 2016 (edited) Nice episode! I'm surprised with the reluctance Yang had that she put on the arm so early, but honestly I don't mind the buildup of these events. All it really took was "If you wanna be an adult, grow a pair of tits and act like it!" The PTSD will still be bigger than her new Atlas arm, but that's totally fine. She will grow without the arm, she'll grow with it. Might make somebody upset, but hey, I think it's just fine. Raven, though... she's someone I unfortunately expected her to be. She doesn't protect Yang 'cause she wants to; she does it 'cause she has to. And I saw this coming. So Raven didn't surprise me as her finding herself to be the person who has to take down Salem. She didn't care about Beacon or what that had to do with her daughter. But whatevs, I wasn't interested in much but her character design. She looks a lot like Yang. We all knew Qrow was following Ruby & Co. thanks to the opening, but it's good to see him get some screentime. Qrow is always a joy. And last but not least... HE'S ALIVE! Of course the Wiz wasn't going down for ships. Can't wait to see him in action again. I'm still confused as to what role Oscar plays (and I hope he gets a major outfit overhaul). First impressions aren't so great, as the only thing I really see is that he looks to be as old as Ruby. I JUST REALIZED PROFESSOR PORT OPENED HIS EYES! Again, I can't help but appreciate the technology that has been implemented this Volume. Looking at the pure lighting as Yang moves her robotic arm and the way Oscar moves in the darkness of the shed just make it look so good. It doesn't need to look realistic to look beautiful, but this looks amazing compared to almost all cel-shaded animations I've seen, games or movies. The lighting, if anything, is the best yet. Who does that waitress sound like? And why does she look like Penny's Jiminy Cricket chick? Edited November 20, 2016 by Clouded Sun
Arya Stark 1,337 Posted November 22, 2016 I like Oscar. idk seems genuine and kind of lowkey. A good break from the extremes and trauma of everything else. Personally I think Ozpin either A. lives in a mirror realm or B. ended up getting his aura/mind stuck into poor Oscar.
Clouded Sun 1,232 Posted November 27, 2016 (edited) World of Remnant today for the Holiday Break. For those of you who didn't happen to see the blog, Happy Thanksgiving, Ruby Rose, it states that the reason for the WoR was because the animation team will get a well-needed break for the holidays. It also confirms next episode that we'll be getting our first glance at MANAGERIE! HYPE! Anyway, I'm glad that Blake and Sun are getting an episode to themselves and are finally meeting Blake's family! I hope this episode triggers some well-needed character development in Sun. Here go some screenshots for the next episode from the blog. I'm really excited to see Sun's humorous take on Menagerie, and I hope to see something else, whatever it may be from Blake and Sun in character. I suspect they'll walk right into Adam who comes to Menagerie after recon or recruitment. Edited November 27, 2016 by Clouded Sun

Then that jealous, crazy as heck yandere is gonna slice Sun's tail with the umbrella he's laying under This ain't no Beauty and the Beast bedtime story, kids. OH GOD I JUST REALIZED? What if Oscar IS OZPIN?! Alright, alright, I know some people were thinking this already and are like "Yeah, so what?" so let me explain. In the four maidens story, Summer, Spring, Fall, and Winter all possessed powers other than Semblance. Like magic. Their powers are passed down to women unless forcibly removed (thanks, Cinder), given to them. But there was one more person in the story. Hell yeah. The farmer who didn't give a _______ about life. "But we don't even know if the farmer passes down any powers." True. Which is why we can't tell if Oscar is the chosen farmer (although that's probably the only reason why he's relevant early on anyway, and he very likely is if this is true). But let's take a look back even further at Ozpin's character. "The hell does Ozpin have to do with the farmer? He's the Wizard of Oz!" EEEEEXXXACTLY! Let's piece it together again. The maidens have power besides their semblance. Powers.... Like MAGIC!!! A Wizard wields magic.... and somehow, after being "killed", Ozpin ends up in Oscar's head. It's likely possible that this means two things: Ozpin is still alive and with some telepathy crap all his own (along with some crazy powers with however he fought Cinder), the Wiz directly can speak to Oscar. OR. Ozpin's "Oz", is actually a wizard who is also granted the powers of the farmer, who not only has granted this power to the maidens but is able to pass down his power throughout the line. This would have to suggest that Ozpin is dead, and yet, through that death his power travels to Oscar and BAM! Oscar is Ozpin. Seems farfetched, but I just know if anything, Oscar has to be the farmer in the Maidens' story. Edited December 5, 2016 by Mystics Apprentice
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted December 1, 2016 Well, I dunno about all of you humans, but things are certainly getting interesting with Rwby! I'm loving the character development going on, and that downtime with Yang and the others was a nice little moment! AND FINALLY, AFTER SO LONG, BEAUTIFUL RAVEN HAS COME TO PLAY! She looks just as feisty as way back when! She's one to keep an eye out for! Qrow is obviously a cool dude, and the Episode overall was pretty neat! That moment with Qrow and Raven at the end was the best for me, though... But yes humans, Volume 4 is definitely turning out to be really, extraordinarily great! And also, Sun's theory on old man Oz sounds pretty legit! O.O 1 Clouded Sun reacted to this
