Lady Aleister 1,677 Posted November 29, 2014 So I went to go get news shoes today and the MANAGER, THE MANAGER. He came up to me and was like: "Is that a RWBY Jacket?" I was scared, but I'm just like. "YEsssss." He was like: "I need to start the series." and I replied: "It is amazing. Go watch it. Tonight." It was funny. 2 Firaga and Xiro reacted to this
OmegaForte 1,674 Posted November 29, 2014 (edited) Definitely! I'd love to get the figures, but the price is asking too much. They're on par with the price for Real Action Heroes figures but haven't the quality set to produce such a price. Now, GoodSmileCompany and Max Factory could profit by getting the rights to produce figma figures instead. Better quality, better prices...only problem is Japanese manufacturing. I do believe we have an English GoodSmileCompany though. Those are just my thoughts on the matter though.Quality is like comparing apples to oranges: different style. These have some clothing, so if anything, these would be similar to those (creepy) doll figures. I forgot what company does those, but they have great quality with a different style compared to static and/or articulated figures. Same can be said for this one, save it for the lack of interchangeable faces. ThreeZero failed there.I will agree on the price being a tad overpriced, but considering that it's a 1/6 scale, the cheapest I've seen for any figure that size was $120, not including shipping. Do note ThreeZero included shipping costs. Calculating how big the package will be+assuming it's being shipped overseas, it would range from $25-$35, and not even EMS.Speaking of the figure, I hope preorders are open for more than a few weeks. I wouldn't be sadden if I can't get her, but the size and quality intrigues me to buy one. (+Ruby Rose fan, so I don't mind having another figure) Speak of the devil, a very unexpected figure was announced+ready for preorder+available next month. What the fudge 2014, you're killing me. Mysterious Figure 353 Posted November 29, 2014 Be very careful once you start getting to the last part, because that's when the story starts to fall apart. I blame Neo 1 SorrowSurvivor reacted to this
Firaga 5,947 Posted November 29, 2014 (edited) I blame Neo I don't like Neo that much, but it's not her as to why I think the ending dived. It's due to the way the season ended, it was super lazy and contrived. Edited November 29, 2014 by Firaga Sensei

I thought they'd at least leave it at a cliffhanger that wasn't "oh here's Adam, blah blah blah the end." Just too obvious. Maybe a cliffhanger as in the fight not ending just like that. Not to mention the development that Team RWBY got was sort of left to the side and it didn't matter a bit. It's like "We need to really understand why were doing what we're doing" but then "Nah, let's just wrap things up and forget all about it." 1 OmegaForte reacted to this

It's like "We need to really understand why were doing what we're doing" but then "Nah, let's just wrap things up and forget all about it." I think the problem is the writers are seeing this as a long-term project, and cause of that there is so much build-up that it seems like nothing is ever actually happening I want the whole Cinder arc to have a proper conclusion next volume, I'm a lot more interested in seeing the Grimm make they're move 1 Firaga reacted to this
BlankShell 638 Posted November 29, 2014 I feel like a lot of these issues wouldn't matter as much if there wasn't a year gap between the volumes; it's very clear they know where the series is going and what the plot is going to be, but a micro-series on a regular TV show schedule works against it. That said, I didn't mind the ending that much, but I was behind and watched it back-to-back with two other episodes, so the pacing felt less ridiculous. SorrowSurvivor 191 Posted November 30, 2014 The last part started off great with the train crash and the feeling of "this is going to be a desperate struggle". Then they start killing Grimm easier than ever before with more than enough reinforcement quickly arriving. It turned into a cool light-hearted battle when it should have been more serious. On top of that covering that one hole wouldn't stop Grimm from gathering in the tunnel. Maybe the writers had planned something better but just ran out of time or weren't allowed more episodes since volume 2 was longer time-wise. What do you guys think would have been a better conclusion to volume 2? I think it would have been better if they had acknowledged that team RWBY should have been exhausted from fighting all day and most of the night especially since they lost some fights. Which would have gone well with the whole "why do they want to be huntresses?" thing. Then after RWBY struggles for a bit have the robots go into the tunnels to clear out the Grimm and block all the holes from the bombs while the 3 teams plus Glynda stop the Grimm who would be actually doing damage to the town and spreading out. Also, as cool as she is, they should have toned down Coco's gatling gun; "the Grimm destroyed my favorite clothing store so I'll just destroy everything else in this plaza." 1 Firaga reacted to this

Taeyeon 1,137 Posted November 30, 2014 The figure looks cool but for all the money I'd pay it would probably just stay in the box on a shelf- so not worth it for meI'm gonna pass and save my money for RWBY Volume 2, the soundtrack, and the video game! Quality is like comparing apples to oranges: different style. These have some clothing, so if anything, these would be similar to those (creepy) doll figures. And this is the problem I see with RWBY state side, due to to the fact it's American made were more than likely to get 2 optiions in figure form. 1. Low End cheap figures, 2. Super highly detailed figures that cost a fortune. I really wish in the future that Good Smile Company or Bandai and Roosterteeth can come into some sort of contract so I can buy Figma Version or Figuarts of the RWBY figures. While ThreeZero is ok, but I think Medicom Real Action HEro would've fit better here, because Yang and Blake look so off to me from those photos we saw all the figures together before. 3 Skai, OmegaForte and Hero of Winds reacted to this
Yang 1,859 Posted December 1, 2014 I admit the writing was really weak this volume. Like Hero of Winds said, the battle at the end was really underwhelming. It's like they built up so much pressure in the episode before and then. . . fart noise As much as I enjoy seeing CFVY and all those other side characters in action, I felt like it wasn't worth putting towards the end, where the plot mattered most. As much as I hate to say it, I think Monty and Miles and Kerry are trying too hard to please their audience. As in ALL their audience, filled with tons of different opinions of the show. Last volume people wanted more action, this volume the action was overshadowing the plot. I hope that they can find that happy medium. 2 Lady Aleister and Firaga reacted to this

Skai 3,961 Posted December 5, 2014 Wow, there was some draaaaaaaaaaaama in this forum. And by drama I mean that there's less of Jaune Arc here and I'm very dramatically sad. Storytelling is something that has to be done right, even if the main point of the show is "fight fight fight". Thank you! Actually, I'm agreeing with all your backlog posts. *is late to the party* 2 Clouded Sun and Firaga reacted to this
