Grotesquery 603 Posted October 31, 2014 I'm guessing she's Yang's twin sister, and also the reason why their mom left. Perhaps she was born with some kind of genetic trait that Yang wasn't (i.e, she had some kind of crazy power like Yang's, but it was far more dangerous) that forced their mother to take her and leave. Either that, or she's a figment of Yang's imagination that represented her getting some sort of dark-side power up in the fight with Neo, but I doubt it. Lady Aleister 1,677 Posted October 31, 2014 That sunglasses girl was amazing. I think it is Yangs mama. Adam is evil?! Is Adam evil? He seems evil... Why has mah baby turned evil?! It seems like that episode was a little bit rushed. Sadly it was the final episode of season II. What was Monty's troll with Velvets weapon again? What was the name of that ending song. I liked it. I know but I couldn't help but laugh at that For those of you who don't know they had a live stream Q&A at 7:30 and a question was asked what was your favorite weapon that was debuted in season 2 and Monty said Velvets and everyone was like you troll and he was like well you did see it you just didn't see what it did Also I love Coco's weapon it is firetrucking amazing
Grotesquery 603 Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) Am I the only one who doesn't think Raven is Yang's mother? Her Aunt, maybe, but her mom? Even now, I don't see her being anywhere older than her late twenties. Raven looks a little young for someone who, at the very least, would have to be in her thirties. Maybe even older, we have no idea how long Taiyang was married before Yang was born. Edited October 31, 2014 by Arcmin
Firaga 5,947 Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) Volume 2 ends on a big note, no doubt... but behind the glamor of a season finale, is there something else left to be desired? Let's find out: First, the good: The action continues! Yes, it just keeps coming and coming. Following last week's episode, the invasion of Grimm is fought back by Team RWBY as well as other members of Beacon Academy, including my favorite team Team JNPR, who put all their cards on the table this week; Jaune even managed not to look like a fool half the time. Signs of character development, my friends. We also got to see Velvet's team in action. Her team consists of the bunny Brit herself, which is always good to see, but also comes with two Generic McCoolguys who are basically there just to look cool and beat shit up. Hopefully we get into their personalities (and their damn names) later on. The spotlight goes to the fourth member, a fashionista decked out in shades who fights with a breifcase that can turn into a machine gun. She definitely had the most personality out of everybody in Team Velvet and I hope to see more of her in the future as well. Other than that, we had some cameos from Sun and Neptune being chickenshits and doing nothing (seriously Sun, you're the freaking Monkey King, Son freaking Goku, start doing stuff already), as well as Oobleck and Mr. Port, who both shilled out some nice power blasts. Then we had Glynda the Goodbitch come in and fix a road. Yay, magic... the rest of the episode seeks to tie up some loose ideas as well as present new ones for the next volume. Typical season finale stuff. Team RWBY gets to rest and relax before the big tournament, Ozpin is on thin ice for being the worst headmaster ever (with Ironwood and co. being assigned to be security at the upcoming tournament) and then we get three twists: 1) Ironwood and Torchwick are working together! (To be honest, this was sort of hinted at and I really don't support him as much as I used to now... stillbetterthanOzpinandGlyndathough.) 2) Adam, Blake's former partner, is going to be working with Cinder's gang and getting the White Fang on their side. Lots of drama to follow that, I'm sure. And 3) We get a scene where Yang meets up with the woman in the mask from last week, who happens to be *gasps* ... somebody. She ain't Summer Rose, that's for sure... OR IS SHE?! ... Is she? I don't know. We'll find out in Volume 3 I guess. Now for the bad: ... I really didn't want there to be any bad this week because the episodes were doing fine and on a great roll... but then that middle part happened... after the Grimm invasion, things just... go back to normal. There's a scene where everybody is gathered up afterwards but... nothing happens. Just Torchwick getting arrested and once again, nobody suspecting that Emerald and Mercury are working with Cinder. Then we cut to Team RWBY, once again emphasizing that they know jackshit about what the hell is going on but its okay because la la la, happy sunshine and rainbows. I am getting sick of this mentality. What happened to the things they learned while on their mission? That they all need to step it up and start knowing their roles as Huntresses? Oh sure, we have a tournament arc coming up for them, but really, a little freaking compromise and/or recognition of events going on and/or anything like that would be appreciated! ... But no. We get nothing. I know its early, I know its only Volume 2 but... ugh, when are our protagonists, our main characters, going to stop acting like ignorant kids? Where is the growth that was hinted at two weeks ago?? It sure didn't seem like it rubbed off on any of them this week, I'll tell you that! *sigh* Anyways... the only other thing I didn't like was Ozpin... doing things, because at this point, he's going to have to do something pretty damn good to get me to stop seeing him as a shitty headmaster. Oh yeah, and the other stuff I sort of complained about too, including Glynda, Ironwood, and Sun and Neptune not doing jackshit. This episode for me gets an 8/10. It could have been a lot better if not for some details here and there, but it was still a good way to end off this season. I don't think Ironwood and Torchwick are working together I mean it looked that way but it seemed like Ironwood is keeping him to interrogate him. As for the women Yang saw at the end of the credits her name is Raven Branwen as said in the credits and people are saying she is Yang's mom but it is too soon to say for obvious reasons. While I agree with some of the stuff you said in the bad stuff but the part where you said that team RWBY just said that they don't know everything that is going on, while that is true I don't think they have that mentality that you said they do because they now have to focus on the tournament right now there will be a time and place for them to get back into the mentality that they had while on their mission. But overall I agree with both your goods and most of your bads and have to agree with your rating for the episode as well it wasn't the strongest episode of the season but it also wasn't the weakest Also X-RAY AND VAV November 27th be there watch it and you will all love it!! 2 Firaga and Yang reacted to this

OhsweetLordthankyou You know, that actually never crossed my mind, and it probably should have. Yeah, actually it does make sense, Ironwood does strike me as "aggressive" but I don't think he's too over-the-top to want to side with Torchwick for anything. Then again, we'll just have to see what keeping Torchwick in Ironwood's custody brings us... Ah, so it is a brand new character! Good, now I don't have to feel stupid for not knowing who she is right away. They have to focus on the tournament, sure... but all I'm asking is a little taste of "what exactly is going on right now?" from the team, instead of just "ah, who cares, we got other shit to do." Just a little bit. One step at a time. 1 TheKingdomkid reacted to this
Arya Stark 1,337 Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) And now I wait for half the people who post on this thread to tear me apart...Nah, it was good. I agree. I think your still being critical about them not figuring out that Cinder, Merc, and Emerald are evil though. I mean, sure, it's obvious to us, the audience, a classic example of dramatic irony, but to them, they've done absolutely nothing suspicious. I mean, how much did Ruby see of Cinder when they fought. She saw long black hair, a mask, and glass. That's extremely ambiguous, especially since no one has seen Cinder actually fight in public. It's not just you calling the characters stupid for not realizing it either, I'm just getting it out now.In other news. Did I say I wanted them to find out that Cinder and her gang are evil? No. I want them to at least get a clue. A clue to what's going on. They don't have to believe it at first, they don't have to start asking questions, they don't have to spend the rest of the story hunting them down and exposing them, just get a whiff of the bullshit smell that Cinder and co. are giving off. They're not exactly the chummiest bunch so that should at least garner something. At this point, I'm willing to accept anything. I'm really just sick of the whole "we don't know shit, but that's fine" mentality. That kind of attitude just makes them seem ignorant and they should be a little bit more mature than that at this point in the series.
