This is a book I'm working on. And it's the first story I write that I feel REALLY confident about. However, if I really ever plan to publish it I'll have to delet the topic, so read while you can. Haha xD.

Most of the chapters were written in portuguese, So I'll have to translate them before posting. And my english is not very good, so EVERY correction and advice is welcome.

The chapters that have been written in portuguese will have a spoiler field on the top of the post with the portuguese content, and the english content will be right under the spoiler, normally posted.

You'll probably feel like reading A Game of Thrones because of the way chapters are disposed, but each chapter is narrated by the character itself, in 1st person and real time action.

This story may contain:

  • Homossexuality/Bisexiality/Heterosexiality
  • Transexuality
  • Prostitution
  • Drugs
  • Explicit Sex
  • Heavy language
  • Gore
  • Mischief
  • Distortion of Moral Values
So don't say I didn't warn ya!

Setting (Will be updated as I have more ideas):

This is the world of Midétaphos. A world of fantasies, with honorable kings, valorous warriors, cunning rougues, dedicated priests and clever mages. The islands of the Caedaphos Empire are known as the center of the cilized world. And it's colonies extend to the western continent of Vortheim and to the eastern continent of Veinia. Veinia however is also home to the Nitaya Empire and the Bei Republic to the north, and to the Sahamat Empire to the South, wich refuse to unite with de Caedaphos Empire. The same happens with some minor countries on Vortheim.

This story starts in one of the Caedaphos Colonies on Vortheim, with one of it's cities beeing attacked by something even more fowl than any savage tribe sacattered in the entire continent.

Introduction

My skin melts inside this furnace. How long until the castle? I’ve been running for what seems to be hours and it still looks so far away. Good thing I can rely on Ara. I’ve never seen a horse as strong as this one, and she’s already so old.

The vision is limited inside this helmet. Why haven’t I take it off already? No time to think. I gotta keep running and running until Ara can’t handle it anymore. I guess she knows better than I do what’s at stake here.

The noises are now long gone behind us. The fire and the blood of the battlefield. But how can we risk stopping when we’re the only survivors? Damned massacre. Those images of burnt corpses hanging from the towers, children’s heads on spikes and what was left of those women being raped by the monsters are still ringing on my head. The screams, the despair.

Everything we can do now is run. Run and warn anyone who’s still alive. We can do it, girl! We gotta do it. Otherwise…

We finally arrived to the forest, and as it gets thicker, we are forced to slow down… I don’t like it. It’s too quiet in here, and this forest isn’t known for being a peaceful place.

We gotta be careful inside this forest. I heard horrific stories about this place when I was a child, but of course, nothing as horrific as what me and Ara have just experienced, but still I don’t think it’s a good idea to be eaten by trolls just yet.

It’s best that I dismount her, and so I do. I take my helmet off and put it inside the beg tied down to Ara’s saddle. Finally some fresh air!

I didn’t realize it was night until now. Probably because I was so worried about running.

Doesn’t matter.

I get my arrows prepared and grab my bow. No fowl creature of the forest is going to get us until we get to the castle.

We start walking side by side. I might be looking paranoid looking at the trees like this, but I can’t let my guard down, even though I can barely see a thing.

This forest is so thick that it looks like a cave, and to see the moonlight through a hole in the middle of all those leafs is like a blessing. Still, I’m not used to so much darkness…

I hear the sound of something cutting the wind.

“Who’s There?!” I cry preparing my arrows, but there is no answer.

I relax my arms thinking it was nothing but my imagination, only to then see something moving between the top of the trees.

I pull my bow’s cord and point the arrow in the direction of the movement.

Nothing happens...

We keep walking, and I keep watching the trees. Once again I hear a noise, coming from behind. My head rapidly turns around and I see some kind of humanoid up on the trees holding what appears to be a blowpipe.

“ARA, GO!” I scream in desperation hitting her back with my hands, making her run.

Then… I sense the blowpipe’s needle hitting right on my left shoulder. It drains my strength with it’s poison and I am brought to my knees as I see Ara running.

As my head is down I see a pair of naked feet coming from above, and before I am able to raise my eyes to see whose feet are those, everything turns black.

Whatever caught me didn’t worry about the horse… Or at least I hope it didn’t.
