I think since they had the rights for use in KH1, they'll be able to use it again when adapting it to HD - I just don't think they'll be able to add new features to the world (which they aren't doing with any world), like extra areas or anything. Though tbh we can't really know without seeing the actual contract that existed between Disney and The Burroughs.

This is somewhat off topic, but why exactly can't they use Tarzan in future KH anyways? What's going on with the copyright problems?

Actually, DJ was my favorite world in the original. Yes there was a lot of back and forth but, with the Jungle Slider, you could get just about anywhere in a matter of seconds. Even the basic route connected the Tree House and the Campsite which were the 2 most visited area in the world. I'm not even sure you had to clear the world to stat unlocking the others, though I could be wrong. It has been a while after all. But I think the only thing in that world that frustrated me was the Vine Swinging. But that's just a matter of timing so the only real obstacle is the player's own skill.

I'm sure that worse come to worst, it would involve a simple pay off to use Tarzan in the game, but seeing as they don't seem to be changing anything plot or map wise in the worlds I doubt there would be a case. Although I really didn't like this world (Damn Chameleon Heartless....) it really wouldn't be a proper re-release without it, would it?

Disney no longer owns the copyright to Tarzan. That's part of why the world never reappeared again in any KH games. Now as far as them being able to use it, seeing as the game has already been made, and all they are doing is remastering the graphics (along with a few control changes to model KH2), both Square Enix and Disney have full rights to the content of that game. There is no reason that Deep Jungle cannot be in the game.
