Joker 1,560 Posted November 2, 2012 Do you count Dissdia in The final fantasy world.i think it is.what about all of you?
NightfallXIII 68 Posted November 2, 2012 Yes and no. Yes as in it happened, and no because no one ever brings it up, even in the remakes.
Elijah Gravenhorst 480 Posted November 2, 2012 Nah. It could be because, in the end, everyone is just returned without any memory of it, So they could get away with calling it cannon, but I don't think it matters 1 Khrulesbbs reacted to this
freer709 44 Posted November 2, 2012 It's officialy canon, they made it canon in duodecim. I wouldn't consider it myself canon, but who am i argue with the developers themself?
Namikaze 654 Posted November 2, 2012 well you could say it is canon. The ending of dissidia can indicate the start of the series,as WoL walking the same way started in the first Final Fantasy.
CloakedSchemerX 1,011 Posted November 2, 2012 I agree with Namikaze. WoL did begin to go into that direction, towards Corneria, his first city?kingdom place. I think FF4 is the only one that can conflict with the canon of Dissidia, mainly because of the whol After Years thing. Oh and Onion Knight is who in FF3? He's not Luneth, in fact, Onion Knight in Dissidia, has one personality trait from each of the four in FF3.
deathrebirthsenshi 279 Posted November 2, 2012 Yes and no; you could definately argue that it's canon, seeing as they apparently go back to where they come from once they die/at the end of the conflict, but...it just never really clicks for me to apply any events that went on in Dissidia to the actual games. Dissidia is, quite literally in game and outside, an alternate universe where all of the characters come together; it feels sort of like what happens in Dissidia stays in Dissidia. 1 Ultima Weapon reacted to this
hatok 6,413 Posted November 3, 2012 No. It's not canon. That's why it's a spin off. There's a really easy way to check, which I'm tentatively calling the Terra Test:it's a very simpe test, you jsut ask yourself "Is Terra acting like she would in her game?" If the answer is no, it's not canon. And to answer the OP's question, not, I don't consider Dissidia to be a form of a heavy artillery. 4 Dave, Ultima Weapon, axele and 1 other reacted to this

Kirux 1,224 Posted November 3, 2012 That as an aspect of her in the first place? o.O yeah, the very first part of the game, when she's introduced in FFVI is the slave crown. That all they focus on in Dissidia. It makes me rage. Also I kind of really hate Laguna's VA. 1 axele reacted to this
Daniel Black 1,981 Posted November 3, 2012 Mmm i really doubt is Canon... it explain more deep the time loop on FF1 but... meh...
axele 151 Posted November 3, 2012 It better not firetucking be ! I hate so much what they did to Terra's character, Bartz and even Squall and Zidane feel different. Okay Bartz is meant to be scared of heights so WHAT'S HE'S DOING FLYING IN THE SKY ?!? Terra they made her a weak and annoying damsel in distress. Terra was only like that in the very first part of the game, in the end she grows and develops into a very strong hero of her game. Instead they ingore that part and they let Onion Knight babysit her because Terra a eighteen year old girl needs a ten year old to babysit her ? That's just.... not right. It annoys me so much that I want to punch a wall. Squall feels way too different. It would of been maybe or cool to read his thoughts more instead of hearing his speak. He's too vocal on his opinions which is very un-Squall. Zidane has been replaced by Locke Cole. Zidane was more of a flirty drama actor that sometimes did treasure hunting but he wasn't ALL about that. I swear that Locke was mad that he wasn't included so he found Zidane in the pub, smashed him up and then stole his clothes and found a blonde wig. That makes more sense. Speaking of treasure hunting, when was Bartz a huge treasure hunter too ? Locke can't be at two places out once. Maybe he cloned himself. Bartz was a adventurer, not a treasure hunter. There is a difference. So no. It better not be canon. Otherwise I'm grabbing a Kefka cosplay and tickets to Japan and pay a nice vist to SE's main office. I mean I would so love to see more characters that I love in the game like Zack but I'm also scared that they would make Zack scared of Sephiroth or something, hates Cloud and is just as anti-social as Squall. Because they have already ruined the SNES and PSONE era heroes why not this gen too ?. Euck. 1 Ultima Weapon reacted to this
Phill Devil 48 Posted November 5, 2012 What do you mean by cannon? I suppose you don't mean that thing that throws giant metal balls at people. 1 Dave reacted to this

I was thinking of correcting the name of this thread...but meh. Unless you're just joking, they meant canon not cannon. As in (I think) an actual part of the storyline. Number XV 490 Posted November 6, 2012 Well, mostly yes, at least in the sense of Wol. But I think the question isn't whether it IS canon, but whether it MATTERS. Which is no. So I don't give a crap.
Roxas Seeking Light 93 Posted November 12, 2012 I definitely have to go with no, because I feel it carries no relevancy to the real series.
barry2255 48 Posted November 18, 2012 No. It's a spinoff, no one mentions it in other final fantasies.
CardCaptorDeadpool 386 Posted December 7, 2012 i dunno i mean sephiroth never mentions fighting squall in kingdom hearts 2, plus Laguna doesn't seem ta notice that Squall is his boy!

NightfallXIII 68 Posted December 24, 2012 i dunno i mean sephiroth never mentions fighting squall in kingdom hearts 2, plus Laguna doesn't seem ta notice that Squall is his boy! Well, in Dissidia at least, the gods messed with time, so the Laguna in Dissidia isn't the president yet.
