I've been doing some thinking lately and I'm not sure I know who I am. If anyone could know me as well as myself or possibly even better than myself, it would be my friends. So I wanted to ask you all what you think of me. What do you like about me and/or dislike about me and just be honest. If you hate my guts, tell me and tell me why. I just want to better myself, because you all deserve the best I can give.

 

btw, You don't have to be one of my friends to answer. If you even know a little bit about me, I'd love to hear your answer, as well.

I think you're a great person, it's really easy for me to talk to you, which usually isn't very easy for me. Hearing what you've said lately reminds me of something I went through before. I was really, really depressed for a long time, so much so that I had even thought about suicide. Luckily for me, I'm afraid of death, so that was put off immediately. I really...hate letting people know how I feel, it feels like a weakness to me, so I dealt with it on my own until I finally was able to actually smile and be happy. You just have to do what you want and hang in there, and you'll see who it is that you are.

I understand you're trying to change yourself a bit, but if you force it some people may not react the way you want to. You also worry too much and takes things too seriously/personally. Sometimes a joke is a joke and you just have to laugh it off. If someone actually upsets you, tell them about it and move on, you don't need to get SO upset.

 

You're really sweet, Trey, but you need to have a bit thicker skin and just let things go every now and then and if someone compliments you take it and stfu, even if you disagree.

I don't really know you that well, but I can say that this is a normal thing to go through. We all go through childhood not really thinking about who we are until we get to a certain age we start comparing ourselves to others. I learned a lot about myself from what my mother has told (because mothers do know best), and just through my personal struggles. So I guess I'm saying that you'll get there. You'll eventually come to a point in life where you really understand both the good and bad. I just hope when you start to understand who you are you'll find things that you like about yourself ^^

A human being has a ridiculously difficult time trying to perceive the complexities of another human being, and can never sustain it for long, so you should worry less about others and more about yourself.

Yeah, I'm not that familiar with you, so I can only say that you seem a nice guy, and you, like a lot of people here, make this site a better place, because, well you belong here, that's how I think. You have many friends as far as I know, seeing how many people seem to care about you.

Finding out who you are, by the way, is not easy. I don't know anyone that actually knows himself like that, you shouldn't worry about it that much... I too, would like to have the answer, and I'm still looking for it, but just don't make a big deal out of it, ok? As long as you keep living, you'll find it out, I know we all will.

You are actually a very nice, funny and caring person. I like you for that. You don't need to better yourself. You're already a great person. If people don't like you for who you are then that's their problem. They'll be missing out on a great person.

Tery, you are a great guy! I mean, sure you can get emotional here and there but thats not bad at all. Being emotional isn't awful, its pretty good to be emotional, of course you need to control your emotions so they don't get out of hand .

Still, you aren't awful, you are a really nice guy, you aren't bad at all. You shouldn't change, but everyone changes all the time. You don't have to force yourself to change drastically, since you are amazing. ;D

Trey, the moment I realized you were one of the most important people I knew was the night you heard me sobbing on that Skype conversation. And then you made me feel better by making me laugh, by joking around. That's what I like best about you. You're hilarious.

But I do feel you get far too emotional, sometimes so emotional I don't know what to say. You try really hard to please everyone, it can be ridiculous. You say it's fine but I know it's really not.

You need to be yourself and try to please yourself, not everyone else, Trey. That's how it worked out for me, especially on this forum. I was myself, I stood by what I believed in and look where I am now.

I'm pretty sure if you do the same thing, the good things in your life will become even better.

When I was depressed, YOU were there to comfort me, even when I didn't feel like talking to you or anybody else, you made me feel that I had a good friend who is trying his best to comfort his friend.
