Being chairman of student council...

Recommended Posts

So yeah, I was just selected as chairman of student council. It's kind of weird story so I would like to share it for you guys:

Most of you probably don't know, but I am straight A student and I get some really good grades although I don't seem and sound like that. I have been part of my student coucil since I begun junior highschool.

Now there was election in my school for new prez for our student council and there wasn't too many people trying to become one. The one reason maybe that my school's student council is a bit powerless and lazy and that is why I decided to go for it.

Actually many teacher suggested me trying to become prez for some time and I was like: "Nah, I have too much stuff to do anyways.." and ingnored it. Few weeks ago I started to think how nice it would be if school's students would have more changes to organize special events and improve our school's mood. Naturally this would be the job of student council, but as I said it's way too lazy. So now I am the chairman/president (what ever you want to call me) of my school's student council and it's weird because I wanted to become one, but same time I felt that I was little bit forced to it, that is because so many people said that "You must go for it! I want you to become one!"

Yesterday I had speech on school , it was pretty hard to talk in front of all other students and teachers..

Then now I have arranged things so that we have meeting with council once in a week. I also arranged the feedback box to school, so people can say things anonymously to me and only I have key to it. Now I can read more suggestions how to improve our school's mood and all that jazz.

Also I'm arranging some kind of different activity for halloween in my school.

Finally I would like to ask you guys: How can I make myself more impresionate and how can I make other students to respect me more? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I would say ask around see what people say. Dont limit yourself to only what your friends think but try as many people as possible. As for right now I say your doing a good job. As for the students respecting you it will come with time. Keep up the good work.
