protoave14 21 Posted October 24, 2012 Did anyone else have really high expectations of KH3D? It wasn't a bad game, I had a lot of fun with it. But with the trailers showing Vanitas, events from 358/2 days, and the revival of the organization, I thought a lot more would happen than just what happened in TWTNW (it had some key details but I didn't think we'd find out a whole bunch of stuff in just 1 or 2 cut scenes). I thought we'd get to fight some Organization members, find out a lot more about some of the events in Birth by Sleep, and with the opening sequence showing everyone together fighting Xehanort, I thought that maybe a few of the "hurting" characters would be saved in some way. So it felt a bit weird for me to only be getting key plot points at the end of a world and find out everything in TWTNW. Did anyone else have a similar feeling or is it just me? 5 DG20, Setting Sun<3, Xalaru and 2 others reacted to this
King Riku 2,063 Posted October 24, 2012 I thought it was perfect, definitely one of my favorites after KH2. It definitely lived up to expectations.
Queen Tery 4,591 Posted October 24, 2012 (edited) I expected 3D to be my favorite KH game thus far. Turned out it just wasn't as good as the hype. I liked it, but I felt like all the story was crammed into the end. Riku became a far more likable character in my eyes, he had some great lines like: "I wish I could take my own advice." or "I'm the one Nightmares fear!" I just felt like David Gallagher really handled the lines well in this game, however I found Sora to be far more naive and less likable than usual. He's always been pretty childish, but this game takes the cake. Edited October 24, 2012 by Ertyx 1 protoave14 reacted to this
Caity 3,946 Posted October 24, 2012 I liked the game but I thought more would happen. I actually expected Aqua, Terra and Ventus to be saved in the game, so that KH3 would open with the great war and it would have a lot of time and coverage (whereas now in KH3 they also need to do the whole saving TAV thing first). But meh. I enjoyed the game either way.

Ruran 481 Posted October 24, 2012 Nomura mentioned in an interview that none of the tormented characters would be saved in this game so that people wouldn't get their hopes up. tbh I wasn't expecting a lot from this game per say. Something else we were told was that this game was rushed and even the ending had to be changed because they couldn't make it work so I always had some doubts about it. Shana09 5,769 Posted October 24, 2012 I was expecting a lot more to the game, it didn't live up to my expectations. I didn't like how everything that was of high importance was crammed at the end, it was really rushed, like what Nomura technically said. It was enjoyable, it is like my 2nd or 3rd favourite game in the series, but I was expecting something more amazing that Birth By Sleep, which it didn't become. Also the worlds were great, but no people which made me feel really lonely, especially when they have huge areas. It did give a lot of information which makes it good to me atleast, but it was really crammed. The rest everyone else said.
GN_Otaku 70 Posted October 24, 2012 Same here! It was a good game in all but too much hype! Traverse town was really good, but everything else was just crammed into twtnw, did anyone else like the announcement trailler a bit better?
LordOfTheCastle 92 Posted October 24, 2012 I agree, there was something about the game that felt really contrived. It did feel rushed and the storytelling was very haphazard. The gameplay was good and I liked the game, but it really didn't live up to expectations
HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted October 24, 2012 I was disappointed that Nomura brought time travel in the way he did .I feel like it cheapened the plot . 2 Demyx. and Robbie the Wise reacted to this

DragonMaster 1,166 Posted October 24, 2012 I thought the pacing was terrible. The worlds were sorely lacking in NPCs. However, I did like the story overall (it just could have been handled much better), and liked all of the worlds except the Pinocchio world. The game play, I thought, was the best in the series, and they finally added boss re-fights. Basically, I thought the game didn't quite live up to expectations story wise, but from a game play standard it was fantastic.
xoblivionx13 1,133 Posted October 24, 2012 In my opinion, 3D didn't really live up to my expectations...it was an enjoyable game but the story didn't feel like the usual tangle of mysteries we typically receive in a KH game (which might be a good thing for some people...I dunno, I like mysteries and puzzle solving). For me, it started out interesting then got eh....the TWEWY came and I spazzed Then was eh again...freaked out during La Cite del Cloches (spelling ;_ with the confrontations with darkness. Some parts were more intriguing than others but I feel like the biggest hunk of the story was the last bit of the game (as it should since it's the ending, but I didn't feel as engrossed throughout the game as I usually would). Apart from the storyline, I actually enjoy the gameplay part....it was a different style (which made that aspect memorable for me ).......it's much easier and entertaining to bounce of walls to kick butt then run in circles (which is what I usually do) O_____o It was fun making Dream Eaters as well X3 I have to admit, the last 2 battles were fan-freakin-tastic! :DDD This game made me like Riku much more then I did before...his story was interesting and made me want to play as him all the time (which is weird...because I liked Sora much better). We got to see Riku be a totally awesome friend. I expected to see more of the BbS and 358/2 Days trios.... Oh well, more awesomeness for KH3

Well I was confused about flowmotion and I REALLY wish there was an explanation to why you could do that crazy shit and some more about dream eaters and the ranks and it would be really cool if you could have had more multiplayer and stuff but meh and another thing is that while I was playing kh 1 and I was in traverse town I realized the game moved extremely fast which isnt horrid but.. The worlds could have been more fleshed out and it really could have used more disney cutscenes .. I dont really know why they didnt do SOMETHING EXTRA WITH THE TRON CYCLE RACE cause alot of people were hyped for tron in 3d again.. The story well I liked it I was wtf'ing the secret ending with kairi and the ending with lea and there keyblades well it should have been revealed in the ending.. Another thing is that I did'nt really understand why junglebook wasnt used since it was completely fleshed out but meh its a good game that is memorable and im clocked into 260 hours and im level 1 proud moding it

I had a ton of fun with flowmotion and dream eaters, but the worlds feel kind of empty without the NPCs. This game in general didn't have enough Disney in it for me. I'm usually one to argue the other side of how there's sometimes too much Disney, but I mean come on! We didn't even get to fight Frollo!
