Tails 6,690 Posted October 20, 2012 Well you know how in the first KH game the Disney characers were more involved with the plot (mainly the villians)? Well what would you think if the Disney characters were more involved of the plot of newer KH games like the were in KH1? I mean in KH1 it felt like Disney characters were important to the plot. Now, it's more like Disney characters play a minor role in the series. So, your thoughts? 6 heyitsdeven, Setrex, coolwings and 3 others reacted to this

FireRubies1 1,325 Posted October 20, 2012 So I'm not the only one who thinks that . In KH1 they used the DIsney characters very well and beyond the Disney characters were there just to be there
darkchaser 788 Posted October 20, 2012 I really like how in KH1 Beast made it to HB and help out. I would like to see that more. I would like to have disney members join the team and more than just their world 1 PillowHead reacted to this
deathrebirthsenshi 279 Posted October 20, 2012 I think the reason they used so much disney in kh1 was because it was a pilot; they also had Final Fantasy characters play sort of a large role in helping Sora start off his journey. It was probably more just to get the series kickstarting; now, since Kingdom Hearts is pretty much hugely popular, Nomura can get away with pretty much anything, even time travel http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/sleep.png; Its also because Kingdom Hearts now has enough of its own characters that Disney and Final Fantasy characters don't need to be featured as much. I really like how in KH1 Beast made it to HB and help out. I would like to see that more. I would like to have disney members join the team and more than just their world I think more of that would be interesting, I really love what they did with Beauty and the Beast there. It definately gave disney characters some validity. I think the disney worlds could definately make more of a comeback in the next game; afterall, probably all of the worlds will be headed towards ruin, so all kinds of things could happen. The plots of some of the other games didn't really allow for roles like this 1 xBerserkerSaix07x reacted to this
Spectrum of Life 188 Posted October 20, 2012 Yes. This has bugged me in every game after 2. Everyone except for Mickey, his friends,Pete and Maleficent have been demoted quite painfully. Mind you, I'm not even that much of a Disney fan. (If you're wondering how someone like me would have even get interested in the series, My sister had me try the 2nd game many years ago and I found I liked it.) VanitasisKirby 1,227 Posted October 20, 2012 Agreed. I feel as if they're just there to "be there."
coolwings 1,546 Posted October 20, 2012 I totally agree, the Disney characters in KH1 were so involved in the storyline with them all trying to get the keyhole or the princess of heart. But now it's just not the same, most of the time the villains aren't even the boss and they just shove in a giant heartless/Nobody/Unversed/Dream Eater boss in instead
MAKS 86 Posted October 20, 2012 So I'm not the only one who thinks that . In KH1 they used the DIsney characters very well and beyond the Disney characters were there just to be there I'm not the only one either? WOOO HHOOOO.

Jim 2,990 Posted October 20, 2012 DON'T DO IT MAN! YOU HAVE SO MUCH TO STAY FOR! IT'S NOT WORTH IT! Oh, I will. At least it's not as flawed as FFVIII.

Caity 3,946 Posted October 20, 2012 Tbh I think the involvement of Disney (and FF characters) was really just to try and pull people in "oh hey look, you can battle the villains of your childhood with the help of some of your beloved characters, YOU KNOW YOU WANT THIS" But now so far along in the series, the original characters (SKR, TAV, RLX etc) have their own storylines and plots that can take up a whole game, so there doesn't need to be as much focus on other minor characters (much in the same way we're seeing less and less FF characters) Granted I'd don't mind Disney, I'd actually like to see every past world in KH3 (would be a nice conclusion to the saga to revisit them all after (from Sora's perspective ) growing up and advancing throughout all the games, but I know it won't happen since the whole Tarzan copyrights thing). I don't think there was enough disc space on previous consoles to add that much plot or storyline to Disney or DD characters (unless they sacrifice the main story) but seeing as the future games consoles they'll be using are more powerful, they'd probably have the space for it. VisitJoan 2,713 Posted October 20, 2012 I like when they add parts of the KH story to the Disney worlds, like Beast's Castle in KH2. Otherwise it just feels like some side story. If the Disney Characters played a major part, I would like it to be a bigger part in the story of KH.
heyitsdeven 131 Posted October 21, 2012 Disney > Final Fantasy c: I do agree that the original characters had much more involvement in KH2, as well as pretty much every other game. It would be nice if Disney characters would have more impact on the story in future games. 1 Deadpool reacted to this
Henne 150 Posted October 21, 2012 I really like how in KH1 Beast made it to HB and help out. I would like to see that more. I would like to have disney members join the team and more than just their world I would like to see more of my beloved Beast... but no, he had to become Prince Adam Ugly again... T_T That aside: what character/s could do more for the main story?
Setrex 1,031 Posted October 22, 2012 (edited) I think it has a lot to do with how the series has evolved since the first game. Sure there hasn't been a major focus on the Disney side that much recently but you have to remember that the Organization and Xehanort were never in the first game and the series is so far from what the original game was. I really think they do all they can when it comes to Disney now in the games. I mean Birth by Sleep, KH1 and KH2 were the only titles (in my opinion) that really showed the Disney side at its best. Though I can't ignore 3D because I loved the worlds used but they really just felt forced at times and very empty and even the small scene with Maleficent and Pete seemed to have been just thrown in so we could get the coded memento I kid of course because Axel appears in this scene as well so... But yeah, I do love the Disney side to the game but there really is only so much they can do, granted there are a ton of worlds that they have yet to even explore and villains to throw in but with Kingdom Hearts 3 around the corner I doubt we'll see anything drastic. Still though I know what you mean in general and I fully support more Disney involvement. Edited October 22, 2012 by KHSoraKeyBlade
mfampait 49 Posted October 22, 2012 (edited) I think it'd be awesome if the Disney characters stayed in their own worlds but they stayed well away from their movie's plots and just have Sora raking in all the favors he's earned over the years and have the juxtaposition working in reverse, rather than having the Square characters getting involved with the Disney setting, have the Disney characters getting involved with the Square setting. And if they do end up following the plot of the movies they should have Disney characters going to other worlds at the end of their world, like Captain Jack stows away on the gummi ship and ends up in the coliseum.
