Yeah, but all the Final Fantasy characters' lives changed when they're world was lost and they had to ditch. This Sephiroth could have a completely different backstory. Like he actually didn't exist until the gambling world was devoured by darkness, and it's mighty king was turned into a Heartless and Nobody.

So far he's been duped by Hades, had to be rescued by Hercules, lost to Sora more times than I can count, and wandered around Radiant Garden wondering where Sephiroth is.
