Spectrum of Life 188 Posted October 18, 2012 In-story, It would be redundant as Riku can harness darkness in tandem with light with no adverse effects after he was purged of Notsem. In terms of game design, the developers probably didn't know what to do with it after CoM. I imagine that's also the reason why Drives haven't been used since 2. Notice how every game seems to replace or modify a lot of mechanics as opposed to adding new ones on top of the old. (Drive forms->Command Styles-> Riku's Dream eater combos), (Static abilities->Panels-> ability crystals -> Dream Eater skill trees) (Combo Finishers->Limit Breaks->Command Style Finishers-> Sora's Dream Eater Combos) 1 Kinode reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The reason why he even had that dark suit was because he didn't have a full handle on darkness quite yet. At least, not until later in his story anyway.
