Firaga 5,947 Posted October 7, 2012 .... I .... have something to admit. Something I'm a bit ashamed of as a gamer.... So, like last year, I was browsing games at my local Target (Not really local, it was actually in the next town, but I digress). I was snoopin' around, seeing if I could add a little something to my collection.....and in right in front of me, was a super, mondo, excellent deal.... Assassin's Creed 1 and 2. On sale. About 30$ or 40$ bucks for BOTH games..... Did I cash in? NO. I said to myself, "I haven't had much to do with this series in the past....I've played a little of 1 at my cousin's place, but that's about it....so now would be a perfect time to get into the series, while there's only two games in the franchise....but....I think I'll buy something else..." (By now, you're probably thinking......what? ) "I think I'll go for something out of my element, something not having to do with the fighting, action/adventure, or RPG genre..." ... So, instead I picked up a copy of Modnation Racers......let the facepalms begin....I'll start. (facepalms) I don't what I was thinking....I mean, don't get me wrong, Modnation Racers is actually a pretty good game....what with the wacky races and creative content up the ass and all that....but, in full honesty, it wasn't for me. It wound up being a game my 5 year old brother would play now and again....and only when I was at my dad's place would I play with him....and of course, check out the billions of Mods and Karts avaliable...mostly I searched for stuff based on other games and the like.....I didn't create anything really, I just downloaded other people's creations, lol.....I just wasn't that creative.....another reason I couldn't get into the game..,.. Anyways, for me, that was a bad call on my own part. Not sayin' MR is bad....but in hindsight, I shoulda gone with the Assassin's Creed deal....my friend Charles and I would have more to talk about.....oh well. I mean, who cares if my main genres are fighting, a/a, and RPG? I'm still open minded.... Anyways, enough of my shame, how about yours? Come on, guys....nobody's perfect....you know you've probably made a regrettable purchase......go ahead. Gather around the campfire! Oh wait, there isn't a campfire....wait a sec....(gathers firewood) FIRAGA! (sets wood on fire) Okay, there we go! Now that that's out of the way, share your stories below. 1 Soul Eater Evans reacted to this

Amon 4,279 Posted October 7, 2012 So I was really excited for MW2 and I bought it. I really expected a lot from COD4 and even WaW. The COD games seemed to be on a role with story telling and I couldn't wait for what happened next. The multiplayer was also greatly improved. When I heard you could be the gunner of an AC-130 I almost had to play the multiplayer. But, it was a huge let down. The campaign was pretty bad. Some missions were really cool, but each one felt like the last mission just with different scenery, especially the ones in Washington DC. And the plot made no sense at all. What would Makarov possibly gain from starting a war between the US and Russia? Better yet, how come the Russians just assumed it was Americans that shot up the airport? Did they not have security cameras which would make it very clear Makarov was leading the attack? How the hell could the entire Russian Airforce fly over North America without anyone noticing? Was it international "Nobody look at the sky, or your radar day?" Why is Captain Price in jail? Why did Shepard kill Ghost and Roach, he had no reason to! If he wanted to stage a military coup or whatever the hell he wanted (they never really said it) what sense is there in killing off two of your best soldiers and forcing the other two to flee? SO MANY PLOT HOLES. So after that let down, I thought the multiplayer would be better. Turns out I was wrong. Every weapon is either horribly overpowered, or downright useless. The killstreaks were poorly implemented too. Nukes were suppose to be uncommon but because of how overpowered the Harrier and the Chopper Gunner were you technically only need to get 7 kills without dying to get a nuke. And lets not forget the firetrucking grenade launchers. 2 Firaga and Xail reacted to this

hatok 6,413 Posted October 7, 2012 Well, the deal was just for 1 and 2. Yeah, about that. Where are you from? Because I`m Canadian and I got AC 1, 2 and Brotherhood for thirty bucks back in January...
Soul Eater Evans 4,045 Posted October 7, 2012 Well, the deal was just for 1 and 2. I bought them all separately. AC1 for 20$ back in 2007, AC2 was "free" thanks to a friend on psn, AC Brotherhood for 30$, and AC Revelations for 20$. . . . Wait, no one was asking. mikethegamer 53 Posted October 7, 2012 I haven't made any stupid game purchases. I always run background checks on any video game I think I want to buy. Every now and then I'll make a blind purchase and it always pays off big time (Persona 3 Portable, Tales of the Abyss 3D and Pshyconauts are a few examples of this). 1 Firaga reacted to this
Emo/Yami 37 Posted October 7, 2012 Not bad as in regrettable, more like bad as in "this game is taking up way too much of my free time" with Persona 3 FES, which I had to buy again digitally on PSN for $10. Played that game all last night without really taking any breaks except for food and to use the bathroom. 1 Firaga reacted to this
King Riku 2,063 Posted October 7, 2012 As for that Assassin's Creed bit, Best Buy sells the set of Assassin's Creed 1 and 2 Ultimate Collection, both games, for 20$. So you not buying them then was actually a good thing. 1 Firaga reacted to this
Rob 5,571 Posted October 8, 2012 I have no stupid game purchase story, but if I have to answer the question........I bought Black Ops.
Jilly Shears 2,144 Posted October 8, 2012 This is more like a "Foolish Almost-Game Purchase", but I'll never forget the day my mom passed on buying a lot of SNES games from Goodwill for about $20. Which contained stuff like E.V.O., Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Lufia II...basically every major SNES RPG released in the US besides EarthBound. ;__; 1 Firaga reacted to this

Setrex 1,031 Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) I bought Tales of the Abyss 3D amongst hype it was getting. Literally have played 29mins of it since I bought it a couple of months back. (Going by my Activity Log on the 3DS because I actually didn't know). I wouldn't say it was a stupid purchase but I just don't have the time to ever play it so I sorta don't care for it as much as my other games... dusk 910 Posted October 9, 2012 Well last year I went to local game store and I saw new game from Square Enix there: MindJack. There were also other games on sale like Bioshock and other very great games. I orginally planned to go and buy Bioshock, but then I looked trailer of MindJack and thought that it looked pretty good and of course I was like: "It's Square Enix: They make lot of good games and they have made Final Fantasies" What I got was very bad game, horrible! I Still regret that I bought that horrible game and hope that I would have bought BioShock instead.. 1 Firaga reacted to this
