KHRecoded How is Re:coded not a remake of the first?

I know a couple of things are differend but is most of it a remake?

 

say a friend of mine didnt have a ps2, if they play this will they get the story?

Its a totally different story involving the data worlds ...Yes it talks about KH1 events since it takes place mostly in the journal but its NOT KH1..It also takes place after ....Also playing this is definitely not a substitute for the first at all...by a long mile.

The plot is a continuation of the series, and not just a retelling of KH1... well, the real world plot isn't a retelling of KH1.

The actual Sora isn't used and the stories in the worlds are different as well. The overall story is different and it has different keyblades but I see where your coming from with their similar worlds

This game is a continuation of the series and has it's own story. So, it would probably be very confusing for them.

No. He must play all of the games before this one, or at least look up what happens up to it somehow. But by taking the second option, he's cheating himself out of some really good games.
