To be honest, there was only really three talking threads. Us, Superior's Table of Normal Talking with Roleplaying without any quotes i totally forgot the actual name, and then Gubby's thread which started out as a derpy RP.

 

At least we were wrong about the raids though sis. 

 

5 talking threads moved..talking also meaning even if it started out as 'rp' but ended up just being a chatting thread it goes in random. Mainly bc we had too many complaints from other roleplay members that too many of these took up the RP forum space.

Really? Complaints? Considering a lot of RPers were a part of those threads, that's made even more interesting. In any case, I have no real dispute with the movement, seems like a decent idea.

Really? Complaints? Considering a lot of RPers were a part of those threads, that's made even more interesting. In any case, I have no real dispute with the movement, seems like a decent idea.

 

Just bc there is a certain group of you that are regs on these chat threads in RP that does not mean everyone that RPs appreciates all the non- RP threads

Basically speaking, if the discussion became a chat thread either from the start or later on, it will be moved to Random. It isn't RP anymore.

Also if you guys were so afraid of people joining a public thread, you should've made a chatroom at the bottom of the screen or use some sort of other platform (seeing as PMs wont host this many members in one PM, and if it can, then I don't see why you guys didn't make a PM).

 

Also to say, if someone joins this thread, you guys cant hate or attack said member. We can't allow elitism and that kind of behavior and we never did that before. It makes the site cliquish too.

The concern over random user's joining in was more a cause of not wanting spam/pictures that were unrelated/random content being posted, not with the members themselves. The chat is Generally set to some sort of general topic, we were concerned with it being overrun with spam more than anything else. Also, it was enjoyable to have it as a general thread for chat as that way if someone wanted to join at any time they could. Eventually a PM gets too large and can be mildly confusing, especially if it gets up to 20+ people.

 

And as for the Chat Room suggestion, it is nice to have the posts archived so if, say, we're not able to be in said chat room when discussion is occouring, it's still there for people to read/respond to later. This, as well as a number of us browse on mobile where the chat system isn't the most... effective way to talk due to lack of desktop site support for usage on mobile and the mobile style being rather unfriendly at times to users. I'm currently responding via mobile myself as an example.

However, a very large number of users attend these thread kinds, I would say a majority, as far as I know, of the public RP community on this site attend at least one. Generally, the majority rules over the minority, but then again, we never saw an actual vote for this to determine what side was the majorty, it just sort of happened. You guys spam these threads all the time on your own to be fair Really a social chat is a social chat and should've always taken place in Random. If you want an exclusive chat we encourage this in private bc we do not allow people to feel excluded as a rule when it comes to public posting.

It just kind of happened, like this thread is a book itself that is still going on today (lol, were talking about this in class), like good old Foster says, a journey sometimes never ends but develops on and on till we the Reader have fully seen our characters grow. It's a statement the Author of ATO uses as well as how I look at this thread. Were all characters still developing, watching each other grow by giving the simple sentence "How was your day?" Lee can honestly say she feels close to many of you and am glad we have witness each other grow. Not to sound like the end though.... Sure, this may just seem like, "Oh she's just being daydreamy or whatever," but deep down it's how I really view this thread. This thread is a story, and I want others to read it with me. 

 

Lee wants more characters, more stories, more adventures with a group I created at a very young age. Lee can't really explain how this thread happened the way it did, but Lee's glad it did.

 

My only fear is if another "incident" happens again, if someone were to be rude, how do we stop them by not ridding of this thread?

Everyone in these threads spam anyways, it would be a shame to tell other members that they have to do something different. If you meant spam like pictures and videos constantly to annoy people...that never happens ever.

We ask your opinions about reorganizing out of courtesy but we do not have to have permission to enforce the natural RP posting order and rules that were established from the very beginning.

1. There are rules to posting in RP that you are suppose to abide by. I suggest you read them.

 

2. We do not make these rules we enforce them.

 

3. If everyone's opinions about what rules they felt like obeying applied this would be an anarchy.

 

4. This is not an anarchy.

 

5. You complain about spam on threads that are already full of your spam. Making that point invalid.

 

6. The RP forum rules were designed so that people could participate in quality RP. The Random forum is designed for socializing and fun. These moved threads were social and for fun so they got moved to Random where they should've always been.

 

7. If there are ever issues with problem members you should always report and we will gladly take care of it.

 

8. We cannot keep track of every single post or thread on this site on the dot so we also go by reports and complaints. When those occur we will look into them and that's what was done here. I do not feel like we should have to babysit the forum to make sure you guys aren't breaking rules left and right. We expect you to follow the rules responsibly. Until we are called in to see otherwise.

Rules are rules, this is not a free playground and never was. You don't get special treatment and neither does this thread. It doesn't work that way.

We enforce them we don't make them.

Whether we did it before and whether we did it now doesn't matter since what is done, is done and the same amount of complaints would be the same.

People complained about those threads more now and we did what we had to do. These threads do not belong in RP forum. That forum is not protected from mods and admins. There are more glad that its moved than those who are sad about it.

 

Besides, what major difference does it make to you guys if its in RP or Random? You guys can still do the same exact thing (but without being elitist towards newcomers coming to this thread, but we already discussed that).

 

This isn't a democracy. There is no majority rules.

I understand that this is our group's special place, a sanctum in the roleplaying section, but it is really against what the roleplaying section is for. I'm happy that it was tolerated for this long (possible due to my poor performance as a mod... and no, that's not why I'm not a mod anymore), but rules are rules, as said.

I can't speak for everyone, but I'm pretty sure that those comments were jokes that weren't meant to be taken seriously. New members are completely fine with us. Heck, I'm a new member in this thread myself. Our goal wasn't to exclude others, we were just making jokes.
