Ultimate Oblivion 52 Posted October 4, 2012 what is the point of remaking the kh games in hd. i mean, the only good thing is kh 358/2 in cutscenes, but it is a waste of money. i mean, they can remake kh358/2 days but why remake 3 games only in hd. it is clear enough for me
coolwings 1,546 Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) Because some people can't get Re:CoM or KH1 final mix on PS2 and also I think it would be great to replay these games before we start playing KH3 Edited October 4, 2012 by coolwings 2 replika13 and HarLea Quinn reacted to this
Weiss 8,279 Posted October 4, 2012 Well I'll list the main reasons. 1. Because some people haven't played the originals 2. Because some people would like to play it in hd 3. Because some people may want to get into the series and this collection would help with that. There are several others too but these are the big ones. 1 replika13 reacted to this
MrSanderss 80 Posted October 4, 2012 This is a way to re-introduce new people to the series, since the older games are on last-gen hardware. It's also a way for people over seas to get the final mix versoins of the games.

Demyx. 10,064 Posted October 4, 2012 The point is they wanted to make me happy.
Noobles 301 Posted October 4, 2012 I don't think it's a waste of money. Some people may want to replay the game in HD Quality. Plus the KH1 was released back in 2002. That was about 10 years ago. Between that time space, there has been an increasing number of Kingdom Heart Fans. Some might have not played KH1 before because they don't have a PS2 or aren't able to get it. Remastering it in HD for the PS3 will allow more people to play Kingdom Hearts 1.
VisitJoan 2,713 Posted October 4, 2012 You also have to remember that fans were asking for an HD remake.
Columned-Munny 274 Posted October 4, 2012 1) Money. 2) Allowing new players to familiarize themselves with the series in a modern fashion. 3) Giving fans what they've been asking for. People have been clamoring for some sort of HD Kingdom Hearts remaster since these sort of collections were introduced. 4) Longevity of the titles. By bringing them to a current gen console the games are able to stay relevant longer. 5) Options. Updating a game in HD is no different than re-releasing a movie from DVD to Blu-ray. Lots of people like the idea of playing these titles in HD. If they didn't the whole HD re-release movement wouldn't have been as successful as it's been. Loki 1,184 Posted October 4, 2012 they can remake kh358/2 days but why remake 3 games only in hd Famitsu asked “Is there gonna be a high-definition version of Kingdom Hearts II later?”, and Nomura replied “It’d be unusual if there wasn’t.”
xxClouDxxmoon 901 Posted October 4, 2012 Having a re-release of the games will attract more fans and in turn create more anticipation for KH3? 1) Money. 2) Allowing new players to familiarize themselves with the series in a modern fashion. 3) Giving fans what they've been asking for. People have been clamoring for some sort of HD Kingdom Hearts remaster since these sort of collections were introduced. 4) Longevity of the titles. Lots of people like the idea of playing these titles in HD. If they didn't the whole HD re-release movement wouldn't have been as successful as it's been. It is true, once I got a Blue-Ray Player I wanted every movie on BR especially the ones I already had.
mikethegamer 53 Posted October 4, 2012 Pretty much what everyone else said....But I'll just repeat it in case you were just skimming through their posts: 1. Money. 2. It's giving fans a reason to play the games again because they're giving us the Final Mix versions (or at least I assume thats what they're doing). 3. Fans have been asking for an HD remaster for years. 4. husfiuwheohwragor ok I'm done. Everyone else has it down pretty well.
Rob 5,571 Posted October 5, 2012 They aren't remaking them. Their remastering them. But it's a remaster(KH1, RE:COM)........and remake(Days cutscenes).
Flying Cattle 48 Posted October 5, 2012 So people like me can replay these games again, but in HD. Also, people may not have a PS2, so they couldn't play the original Kingdom Hearts or Chain of Memories. I have talked a lot about Kingdom Hearts to my friends who have yet to play it because they do not own a PS2, so they're pretty excited about the HD remake, that is, if it ships overseas. It also gives people something to do while we wait for Kingdom Hearts III.
kingskater4 19 Posted October 5, 2012 I've replayed KH1 and KH2 so many times, including the Final Mix games, I would definitely want to play them again in HD, it's mainly to introduce new players to the series, most people will be very confused if they play KH3D or KH3 before playing the past titles. Setrex 1,031 Posted October 7, 2012 Anyone outside of Japan didn't have a chance to play Final Mix and nobody in Europe got to play Re:CoM (myself included) It isn't halting the development of any other KH game so why not? A load of people like the idea of HD titles, if you don't then nevermind. (I am of course not counting importing in my first point)
Tetsujin 43 Posted October 7, 2012 They aren't remaking them. Their remastering them. More people need to be aware of the difference imo. I always cringe when even gaming mags use the term "HD remake". They ought to know better...
