VisitJoan 2,713 Posted October 2, 2012 Each time I play a Pokemon game I capture a whole bunch of pokemon so I can have a diverse team. However, when I come to gym half the pokemon I would like to use are seriously underleveled (how do you spell that?). I tried to fix this by switching out pokemon each time one gained a level, but that became a pain in the butt when I had to go back through caves trying to avoid wild pokemon to get back to a Pokemon Center. How do you guys handle having lots of pokemon while keeping the game fun?
_The Door To Light_ 1,507 Posted October 2, 2012 (edited) inb4 Shana Personally, I like to give my pokemon the best items to hold as possible. It's good for boosting their stats. Use plenty of battle items too. Edited October 2, 2012 by _The Door To Light_
SoraBlade 832 Posted October 2, 2012 I dunno.......I never had that problem. I ussually keep the under leveled ones (Though they're like nearly 30-56) in the PC for trading.
darkchaser 788 Posted October 2, 2012 well i usually plan my team ahead of time so i don't catch pokemon i dont need. That way i can focus on the team i got without worrying about random pokemon on my team 1 FireRubies1 reacted to this
ryudra27 14 Posted October 2, 2012 Plan out your team with all the pokemon you've caught so far, and focus on only those 6. If you're underlevel, then grind grind grind!! Use the exp. share for lower level pokemon if you need to. Good held items help a lot too! And keep a good amount of healing items and such on you so you don't have to go to the pokemon center and back constantly. Also, honestly, in-game you can basically use any kind of pokemon you like, if they have the right moves and if you train them to a high enough level. So pick whatever 6 pokemon you want, make sure they have good type coverage, train them up enough and you should be good to go. Good luck!! 2 darkchaser and FireRubies1 reacted to this

VisitJoan 2,713 Posted October 3, 2012 Wait... how many Pokemon are you actually training??? I end up with like 20 or so. Looks like I need to limit it down to 6.
wayfinder823 477 Posted October 3, 2012 I end up with like 20 or so. Looks like I need to limit it down to 6. I always pick a team of six and focus on training them first. The others, i leave at the Daycare and rotate them periodically.
Weedanort 8,786 Posted October 3, 2012 I always keep a team of 4 usable Pokémons (2 of them are HM Slaves *cough Bidoof *chough) Of course in Black and White, you can train 6 Pokémon without the problem of HM moves (until Victory Road).
