Tails 6,690 Posted October 1, 2012 It appears as though Sony’s latest handheld, PlayStation Vita, which released February 2012 in North America and Europe, will not receive a price cut this year. Sony’s managing director of PlayStation UK, Fergal Gara, confirmed the PlayStation Vita’s price will be reduced sometime next year, 2013. Nintendo 3DS, which launched March 2011 in North America and Europe, received a major price drop less than five months after its debut. Your thoughts on this? I think this is exciting news. This should help boost sales for the PS Via. Now all Sony needs to do is get more 3rd party developers making games for the Vita and we'll have a selling system. 1 kingdomlanelover reacted to this
HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted October 1, 2012 A price cut was inevitable in my eyes from the start . I wouldn't buy a Vita for its current price especially with its current shitty game selection .And if they don't start releasing more games that i would care about I probably still won't ever get one .We shall see . 4 FireRubies1, Kirux, Demyx. and 1 other reacted to this

Robbie the Wise 5,050 Posted October 1, 2012 At the end of the day there is still not enough stand alone titles for the vita that would make me want to purchase it, even with the price cut. 1 FireRubies1 reacted to this
DChiuch 5,773 Posted October 1, 2012 And now they've ruined any chance of a good Christmas holiday period because people will hold off, waiting for the sale. 6 LordOfTheCastle, HarLea Quinn, DragonMaster and 3 others reacted to this
dusk 910 Posted October 1, 2012 I don't understand why people complain so much about VITA's games.. It already have really good games and there is already coming lot of cool looking games. Uncharted Golden Abyss is very good, Wipeout 2048 is high quality racing game, Recistance Burning Skies, Blazblue Continium Shift, P4 arena, Gravity Rush and lot others. Very sad that Sony lost monster hunter to Nintendo, really enjoyed the games that came for PSP and really looked forward to play one on VITA Same was with PSP, everyone was like "Hurr there is just 2 or 3 good PSP games" I have about 30 PSP games and I have enjoyed most of them really much. Queen Tery 4,591 Posted October 1, 2012 The Vita is an alright system. The game library just isn't very satisfying. Gravity Rush and Uncharted Golden Abyss are about all that does it for me and even that's a stretch. Luckily, AC Liberations is coming out soon, so that'll make it better for me, personally. RikuVazquez 108 Posted October 1, 2012 The only reason I will get a PS Vita is because of Persona 4 Golden and Final Fantasy X HD 1 Namikaze reacted to this
darkchaser 788 Posted October 1, 2012 I am already getting the Assassin Creed PS Vita on Oct 30th and i don't want to wait longer for this price cut. I agree they shouldn't have announce a price cut for next year.
Xalaru 445 Posted October 1, 2012 Unless a KH game comes out for the Vita I have no desire to ever own one. 1 LordOfTheCastle reacted to this
Namikaze 654 Posted October 1, 2012 Also Persona 4: Golden will be coming to the vita November 20th. Main reason why I bought a vita. It's going to be the best game on the vita. The only reason I will get a PS Vita is because of Persona 4 Golden and Final Fantasy X HD Finally, Someone other than me who is excited about Persona 4. Main reason why i got a vita too! Weiss 8,279 Posted October 1, 2012 I find that the ps vita doesn't have enough games to make it's current price worth it. But it's price cut should help it's sells.
NumberXIII.Roxas 64 Posted October 1, 2012 I will only every get a Vita for Assassin's Creed and Uncharted, unless other good games come out.
Spectrum of Life 188 Posted October 1, 2012 The one time I actually get a Sony console before a price cut... mrrhrrmmrhr. I imported Persona 4 Golden in a Heartbeat. Finished it twice already.
Kirux 1,224 Posted October 1, 2012 ...I didn't even get a psp until just this past June, just to play BBS before DreamDrop. I mean, it's okay just a lot of the games don't really do anything for me. I do like the ability to DL old PS games to play on it though, or even older PSP games. Their DL library is much more expanse than Nintendo, IMHO. I feel that Nintendo shouldn't be so stingy about what they have available to DL from eShop.
TheKingdomkid 1,194 Posted October 1, 2012 I already planed on getting on, I plan on getting the Assassin Creed III Liberation Vita Bundle for only $250 which I think is pretty good with the game and system and memory card, can't complain about that but still it would've been better I think if they did the price cut this year, but oh well still good job on there part for doing a price cut. 1 darkchaser reacted to this
King Riku 2,063 Posted October 1, 2012 Always knew this was going to happen. It didn't exactly have a good launch period, and just doesn't seem that popular. 1 Queen Tery reacted to this
LordOfTheCastle 92 Posted October 1, 2012 The way I see it, with a really high asking price with comparatively even more outrageous memory card prices (proprietary Sony memory cards, no less) along with a virtually non-existent library of games, the Vita is useless without a price cut Anyone I've talked to who's owned a Vita either bought it for 1 game, bought it and was disappointed, or bought it just to "look rich" as some sort of status symbol... or something o.O But, if they really slash the price AND the memory card price AND actually release games worth having on it, I could see myself getting one. That's a lot of "if's" though
xxClouDxxmoon 901 Posted October 1, 2012 Well they better have a price drop if they want any chance of me purchasing one!

DragonMaster 1,166 Posted October 2, 2012 Good that its getting a price cut, as it was badly needed (how about cutting those memory card prices too, Sony? *winkwinknudgenudge*). But... And now they've ruined any chance of a good Christmas holiday period because people will hold off, waiting for the sale. This. I mean really, go an entire, pitiful (sales wise) year being over priced, announce a price cut to happen next year, right before the holidays when you might actually get a noticeable bump in sales? Really, doesn't make much sense. 1 DChiuch reacted to this
