Brofist for Super Smash Bros 4

C'mon, Who is PUMPED for Super Smash Bros 4! For those who didn't know YES its been confirmed and its going to be on the Wii U AND 3DS.

 

 

The only piece of information released so far (as far as I know)

• Its going to have Wii U and 3DS compatibilities.

• This time, Namco Bandai Games and Sora ltd. is making the game.

• Sakurai (Lead Developer of the game) wants the 3DS version to be more of an "individual" and "customizable" experience where, hypothetically, the player could take a customized character and upload it to the Wii U version.

• Sakurai said of a possibility of adding a Capcom character to the game.
• Sakurai didn't want to start to develop on the game until Kid Icarus was finished.
• By June 2012, Sakurai said that they have just begun development of the game.
• In August 2012, Sakurai stated that while the addition of third-party characters appealed to fans and broadened the Smash Bros. audience, he recognized the need to narrow down their inclusion since introducing non-Nintendo characters "willy-nilly" would lose focus of the game.
• The big problem, though, comes from the idea of trying to get characters from a completely different universe to fit with the style that has been dictated by Nintendo's characters in a fighting game.
• In September 2011, a photo of a supposed leaked document suggested a possible title of Super Smash Bros. Universe.
• The balance of the characters' powers before were only measured by Sakurai, but he will involve his staff more in this game to make sure the characters are competitively balanced.
• Rumors are going around that they aren't going to increase the number of characters in the rooster but take out characters considered "Clone" characters and replace them with another, more different characters. (Ex: Fox,Falco and Wolf have a lot of similarities, they are possibly replace Falco and Wolf with other characters.)

   

   

  So far this is all that is out and like I said, I'm pumped. As SOON as I saw that that it was developed with Sora ltd. I got so excited thinking that Sora was going to be in the game lol, I HOPE he does . But the Rumor is concerning me, cause I actually like playing as Falco and Meta Knight in the game so I hope they don't replace them.

Yeah just looked it up (on Wikipedia) and it said they officially closed June 30th of 2012

Scratch what I just said, Project Sora closed down, but Sora ltd is still going and an article on IGN said that they are in the works for new SSB for WiiU and 3DS

As for the roster I think at this point any character that was in both Melee and Brawl is most likely going to feature alongside the Veteran fighters of the series who have featured in all games thus far. It's strange but Smash 4's roster will be the most interesting yet.

 

As for getting rid of "clone" characters I think Falco has very much set himself apart from Fox even though the similarities. At least he wasn't as usless as Pichu was in Melee or even Dr Mario

OMG!! My friend and I were just playing Brawl over the weekend and we were talking about how we wished another Super Smash Bros. game came out! Dude, he will be so excited when I tell him!!

I'm glad they're trying to cut down on clone characters.

 

But I wish they would keep Falco. He's so much better than fox in every way

 

But I'm still pretty excited. I just hope skill is a little more of a factor than it was in Brawl. You really just get lucky in Brawl, unless you're really competitive and do FOX ONLY, NO ITEMS, FINAL DESTINATION.

Wasn't sure if it was the same development team or not. Thanks for clearing that up.
