Strangely enough, I realized this possibility while eating a cupcake. Sugar does wonderful things.

 

Anyway, those of you who are up to date on the manga will know that in the Madara/Obito flashbacks, older Madara tells Obito that he'd intrusted his eyes(Which had awoken the Rinnegan) to someone he trusted. And Obito claimed that it was he who gave Nagato the Rinnegan, the only possible way being an eye transplant like Kakashi's. He also said Nagato's Rinnegan was 'to be used for my benefit'.

It is very possible that Madara and Obito used Nagato by giving him Madara's Rinnegan, ensuring Madara would be revived into the form he had wanted.

It could also explain why Obito was so anxious to get those eyes back. If you think about it, he had only two reasons for wanting them. Either he'd given up hope that Madara could be revived as they'd planned and moved forward, or he was planning to revive Madara himself.

 

It's very likely that this won't be the case, but after hearing Obito tell Konan that he was the one who gave Nagato the Rinnegan again, it just came to me.

Well I'm pretty sure that MADARA gave Nagato his Rinnegan, but Obito only said that he did it because he wanted everyone to think he was Madara.

I'm not a Naruto fan, but looking at the names on this thread has made my brain trippy. What's wrong with Steve, Benjamin, William, John, Frank, and Bob? Even could is a good name compared to these!

Because this is a Japanese anime, therefor they have Japanese names. I can say the same about Kingdom Hearts.
