Kingdom Hearts Future Vol. 14 You can always be a Light in the Dark

 

Yen Sid and Mickey have been brought safely to the Tower, still unconscious but alive. Sora and Kairi told the Seekers that once again they had lost their leader to Anti-Sora. Xemnas and Ansem the Seeker of Darkness both new and had been feeling weak for a while, but Sora did explain to them that they still could save Xehanort.

Xemnas: What do you mean? He's gone we are powerless to do anything.

Ansem: I think he is trying to say we use a sort of metamorphosis and combine our bodies.

Sora: Right.

Kairi: But, unfortunately we don't know how to make that happen. When I saved Sora it was different, but to fuse you both without killing you, that's the difficult part.

Ansem the Wise: There's nothing we can do to help them without destroying their bodies I'm afraid that this is the only way to get Xehanort back.

Xemnas: Okay, let's do it.

Sora: Really?

Ansem: Yes we'd be more powerful together, we need this upper hand on Anti-Sora!

Suddenly the rest of the Seekers of Darkness approached Sora, Kairi, and Ansem the Wise pleading for the help that Xemnas and Ansem would receive. Unsure that they would be able to survive or even if their heartless had been destroyed they were all ready to take the risk. Sora and Kairi quickly struck down everyone of them in the hope they'd surface again and be a better person. Only Xehanort now around the age of fifty, Isa and Braig appeared the others hadn't been revived.

Sora: Well, this is kinda depressing. What do we do now?

Kairi: I don't know, what else can we do?

Xehanort: We take out Anti-Sora!

Sora: What? You think we stand a chance?

Isa: Yeah, with this new power we have we can take him down for the count.

Braig: Right, now stand aside while we end Anti-Sora and make our fallen comrades proud.

Sora: Or, we can stay here and work on a strategy. Even with your newfound powers your still no match alone. What if he absorbs your power like he did before?

There was along silence that ended in Isa, Braig and Xehanort heading off to find Anti-Sora. After the three had left Sora and Kairi went off to find their students training for the battle ahead. Sora had never seen them so focused on training before. Kairi walked over to them, looking at them she was very proud of how they were taking the situation, then the two began to tell their students that they were to continue their training under Eraqus, Ventus Sr., Aqua Sr.and Terra Sr. The group looked confused and wondered why the sudden change of Masters, Sora and Kairi explained that there was nothing more to teach them and the students should have a new style of fighting with their Keyblades. Sora and Kairi also asked them not to go looking for them later they were going to find Riku and bring him back.

Aqua Jr.: But Masters, we can help this is what we've been training for after all!

Roxas Jr.: Yeah, this isn't fair!

Xion Jr.: We want to be with you!

Terra Jr.: You're gonna need us.

Sora: Now, listen you're going to do as we say, Aqua, you are the oldest, I'd expect you to be reasonable. I want you all to stay just in case Kairi and I walk into a trap.

Lea and Mickey jump from the tower to meet Sora and Kairi.

Lea: What's this about you leaving-

Sora: Don't try to talk us out of it Lea, Riku has been our friend for years and he's always been there for us, now it's our turn to save him.

Kairi: Sora's right don't try to stand in our way.

Lea: I was just gonna ask if you needed help?

Mickey: Whether you know it or not Lea and I know how you feel. Lea couldn't save Isa twenty years ago, and Riku is a friend of mine too, years ago in Castle Oblivion we helped each other all the time. We're coming with you.

Sora: No.

Lea: We weren't asking.

Sora: Stay here and protect each other.

Lea: Not a chance, you know as well as I do you won't beat him if its just the two of you.

Sora: Don't care, and Riku will help us too. This time he won't get away.

Mickey: The Seekers! Where are they?

Kairi: They went to go find Anti-Sora and have their revenge.

Lea: We must go now they'll need our help. Sora, Kairi, come on. We can summon a portal that will be the fasted way there!

Sora: Fine. But kids WILL stay here.

The four departed for the Keyblade Graveyard to confront a dark power. They arrive to find Riku tied up to a pillar upside down and seemed to be close to death.

Sora: Kairi! Look its Riku!

Kairi: Sora look at him. Is he alive?

Lea: Barely.

Mickey: Sora cut him down!

Sora cut through the chains of darkness and Riku fell to the ground and Mickey cast cure. Healing his wounds but not regaining his strength, Riku tried to sit up and started to look around him seeing his friends he was filled with joy.

Riku: Sora, Kairi, Mickey, Lea thank you, but we need to go now. Anti-Sora has set a trap, I don't know what but he wanted to make us weaker somehow, something about bringing up the past?

Dark fire separated the Keyblade Masters and formed a tornado of fire around each one. Anti-Sora entered their heads and chanted "Turn back the clock of time, turn back the ages, victims to this rhyme, turn back the clock of time, lives turn to pages, turn back the clock of time!"

Sora: What the? I look twenty years younger.

Kairi: This is strange.

Riku: I haven't felt like this in ages.

Mickey: I've got more energy than before.

Lea: Cool! This is awesome! I'm a kid again!

Sora: What have you done?

Anti-Sora: I've just made it that more easy to kill all of you. Is that a problem?

Lea: For us, no. You think you've won? Look at us, you've given us more time than anyone else in this world. You've lost.

Anti-Sora: Really try to summon your Keyblade.

They all summoned their Keyblades but they could tell that they too had changed. They were weaker and they had changed their looks too.

Anti-Sora: So what now? You've only got one chance to beat me. The X-Blade but how will you get it? It's at the Tower but you can't get it fast enough, oh, that's so sad and unfortunate.

Xehanort: Oh yeah? We've got it right here!

Anti-Sora: What? Who's there? Where are you show yourself!

Isa: Hello there, miss us? Lea? What happened your young again that's not fair.

Lea: Well you didn't age for twenty years. Hey now people will have to remember me, I'm young again.

Xehanort: Kairi, take it, it's yours, Princess of Heart.

Kairi: Thanks.

Sora: Now, Anti-Sora, we finish this! Everyone on three! One...... Two......

Anti-Sora: No! Wait! Forgive me!

Sora: It's too late, you've caused too much pain, you've killed too many people! Time for you to pay for what you've done! Three!

All at one time the Keyblades and X-Blade had eradicated Anti-Sora in a flash of light. With the worlds freed from evil once again it was a time for peace. But there is always darkness in the hearts of all people. Would the peace last for long? Who knows, but for now our heroes need a long vacation.

Kingdom Hearts Vol. 15 Hope, Faith and Joy

 

It has been five years since Anti-Sora was defeated by Sora and the others. So far there has been no attempt to take over the worlds and Sora, Kairi and Riku have enjoyed the fact that they haven't aged since that day the beat Anti-Sora. Master Yen Sid has retired leaving Riku to take his place, but he still pops in every now and again to observe Riku's data of the worlds. Lea and Mickey along with the students have formed a peace keeping group. While the other Keyblade Masters, like Roxas sr., Xion sr., Terra sr., Aqua sr. and Ventus sr. etc. have all taken official teaching jobs for those future Keyblade Wielders. Sora and Kairi have gotten married and are expecting triplets. After the fall of Anti-Sora they didn't waste anytime into starting a relationship they had failed before and they weren't gonna let it happen again, now that they weren't aging and found that they could very well be immortal they wanted to spend eternity protecting others for the powers of darkness. The Seekers of Darkness hadn't shown themselves for awhile but our heroes were waiting, Riku knew that if anything they were probably gathering more followers and if he had heard any rumors that he would look into it right away.

Ansem the Wise: Anything Riku?

Riku: No, just another dead end.

Eraqus: Riku, you need a break my friend, you work too hard to keep the worlds safe, let us take over for awhile or call in Mickey's and Lea's team. Do they have a name yet?

Ansem the Wise: No. It's not that hard to figure out a name either, maybe something like Key to the Light or something.

Riku: I have too much to do, no time for breaks. When we catch them I will have a rest but knowing that any moment we could be attacked, I just can't.

Eraqus: Fine, I'll call the team in to hunt down the Seekers, where's the last place they were spotted?

Riku: They were in Hallow Bastion, killing and recruiting for their army.

Eraqus: Do you want me to call Sora and Kairi?

Riku: No, we can't bring them into this well, not Kairi anyway.

Ansem the Wise: Oh right, how is she?

Riku: Two months left. They've been thinking about names actually.

Eraqus: Well?

Riku: They're not sure yet.

In Disney Castle the King and Queen were celebrating five years of peace with a festival in the honor of the X-Blade which had disappeared after the fall of Anti-Sora, the others thought that they could only use it when needed. So they hoped they'd never see it again, but they knew that with the growing number of followers that the Seekers were gaining it wouldn't be long until they found themselves in trouble again.

In Destiny Islands Sora and Kairi were getting ready for their upcoming children and a new chapter in their lives.

Kairi: Sora?

Sora: Yeah?

Kairi: Can you feel that?

Sora: We have a visitor, Xehanort.

Kairi: It's been five years, can't he just leave us alone?

Xehanort: No, not anymore, I need you to summon the X-Blade once more.

Sora: Get out of our house!

Xehanort: I said no! Give me the X-Blade now!

Xehanort charged at Kairi in an attempt to force the X-Blade to re-appear but it didn't and Xehanort came to a sudden stop. Sora rushed for Xehanort and slammed him on the ground and summoned his Keyblade pointing it between Xehanort's eyes.

Sora: You dare do that again and you won't get up.

Xehanort: Fine. One day I will return and then you'll have no choice than to give me what I desire. Isa! Briag! Now!

In a blink of an eye the shack fell on top of Sora, Kairi and Xehanort. Soon afterwards Isa and Braig could be heard laughing in the distance. Sora started to move around under the ruble to find Kairi, he found her in an unconscious state, he went to move her but she signaled back to him to stay where he was. Sora was thankful to see that she wasn't hurt. The sky turned black when Xehanort, Isa and Braig combined their negative energy into a moogle sized ball of energy.

Sora: Kairi, we have to move now into the water near the cave.

Kairi: Right behind you.

Xehanort: I hope you both enjoy eternal rest! Say goodbye to the peaceful world all of you have created! I must say Sora and Kairi, I'm a little disappointed with the way you've met your end. Braig, Isa now.

In a flash half of the island fire and Xehanort, Isa and Braig had left, Sora and Kairi were safe for now. Later Sora called Riku and Kairi called Mickey to be on the lookout for Xehanort.

Sora: He thinks we are dead.

Riku: He left in a bit of a hurry then?

Sora: Yeah, we'll talk later, I've got a lot to do here.

Riku: Ok, see ya, thanks for the information Sora. Eraqus see if you can find the Seekers, they're not too far from Destiny Islands. Ansem I need you to keep your eyes on anything that might be a miss in the Realm of Darkness.

Ansem: You fear they rally there, very well Riku I will keep my eye on that place. If anything should seem out of order I will inform you immediately.

Over the next two months no signs were shown that would give a hint to the Seekers whereabouts. Kairi was just about to give birth to the triplets in Disney Castle where she would be safe from any type of threat.

Kairi: Sora! Where's Sora!

Mickey: He's almost here, Riku's bringing him.

Sora: Kairi!

Kairi: Sora! You almost missed it, Xehanort would have been the least of your problems.

Riku: Kairi, he would never miss something this important.

Lea: Is that so?

Sora: Yeah, why?

Lea: Just messing with you Sora, chill bro.

After the birth Sora and Kairi still hadn't thought of names for their one son and two girls. Lea, making jokes asked for their son to be named Axel or Lea, Kairi started thinking of people from their past, but nothing stuck. Sora thought of names form tv shows, Kairi quickly put an end to that. Riku eventually thought of names of peace Hope for the boy and Faith and Joy for the girls.

Kairi: I think that's perfect.

Sora: What was wrong with Goku?

Lea: Sora you'd better quit while your ahead.

Riku: Yeah Sora, you're not in the dog house yet.

Mickey: Is he close Kairi?

Kairi: Holding on by a thread, Sora.

The whole room had a laugh and enjoyed the days that followed, spending the days with Sora and Kairi and the newest members of the family.

20 years after Masters Xehanorts defeat, Sora Riku Kairi and Lea have all become Keyblade Masters, they have started teaching whom ever can wield a Keyblade, the students are named after fallen heroes, Roxas, Xion, Namie, Aqua, Ventus, and Terra. Sora teaches basic combat, Kairi teaches magic, Riku is a teacher on controlling Darkness. Lea is now an assign, and protector of Disney Castle. Yen Sid is still around and keeps an eye on the Lanes Between as Mickey, Donald and Goofy train with their new Keyblades.

Sora Riku and Kairi are putting their students threw the Mark of Mastery, when suddenly Yen Sid makes an alarming discovery and gives our three heroes a terrifying message

Yen Sid: Sora Riku Kairi! There is a terrible Darkness appearing in the Lanes Between. Go there and destroy it.

Sora Riku Kairi: Right, understood Master Yen Sid!

They find themselves in a pickle when they get there and see Master Xehanorts ghost holding the X-Blade and mouthing the words "Your students will be slaves to my darkness" and the figure disappears. The trio returns to their home to find their students missing, they immediately call Yen Sid, they discuss what has passed and Yen Sid put word out to Lea Mickey Donald and Goofy. The seven race to the Keybalde Graveyard to find all the students passed out and a dark figure standing over them.

All: Who are you?!

The figure turns and raises its arm and summons a weapon the others start to feel a horrible darkness come over them. They all start hearing voices from the past talking down on them and suddenly all of it stops. They all have been sent into there hearts and the figure shows no mercy, his goal is to take there hearts and use them to recreate the true Kingdom Hearts, the figure gains the upper hand on all of them but Yen Sid shows up in all their hearts, he upgrades their Keybaldes and enhances their powers, the figure is defeated. Our heroes awake and come to find all but one student is still there. Roxas, Xion Namine Aqua and Terra are told to continue their training under Master Yen Sid. Yen Sid puts them under the most intense training he can( worse than dream worlds). Sora Riku and Kairi are to fight their students not holding back anything until the five have become Keybalde Masters. Only Roxas Xion and Terra pass, their Keybaldes are now transformed into Ultimate Keybaldes. Ventus shows up in Disney Castle, easily defeating Lea Mickey Donald and Goofy, he takes them as well as Minnie and the rest of Disney Castle, Ventus then turn to the figure and the figure throws back his coat.

All: Sora?!

Anti-Sora: No, not even close. Turn them into the slaves of darkness.

Now with six seekers of darkness and eight lights the new Keybalde war is close. The others soon get the news and start training even harder. Yen Sid looks at his book and finds reason for why all of this is happening. The Keybalde War 20 years ago was only the beginning for the resurrection for a more powerful version of Kingdom Hearts.

Kingdom Hearts Volume 16 All is fair in Love and War

 

A few months had past since the birth of Sora and Kairi's children, Faith, Hope and Joy. The Seekers were in hiding for reasons unknown, Riku continued his work at Yen Sids Tower with Ansem the Wise and Master Eraqus, Lea and Mickey lead the future of Keyblade Weilders in their studies and practice now and again. These times were peaceful and carefree. It would not last long a new band of warriors started attacking the worlds throwing them all into state of darkness the universe had never seen before. Coming to confront the the team of evildoers were Aqua sr, Terra sr and Ventus sr. The attackers had civilians cornered, throwing small bombs at their feet.

Terra sr: Stop!

Aqua sr: Who are you?

Ventus sr: Why are you doing this?

???: Because we have to. Now leave or suffer the consequences!

Ventus sr: We won't go down easy! You'll see, you're in for it now.

???: Fine. But remember you asked for it.

Aqua sr: Ven watch out!

With not even a second passed one of the warriors dashed at him and Ventus sr was struck down.

???: Now take your friend and leave.

Terra sr: Yeah right, you don't scare me.

???: Did you see what we just did to your friend, that was a warning. You'd be wise not to attack.

Aqua sr: They're right, if we take them now we'll lose. Ventus is unconscious. Do you want to try? You could die.

???: Smart girl. Listen to her. Like my comrade said we have to do this.

Aqua sr: Why?

???: Lives are at steak thats why.

Terra sr: Who's?

???: My sister's, and countless others, including his son.

Aqua sr: We can help.

???: It's too late for that.

The group of warriors disappeared into the smoke, it started to rain, the townspeople were in shock, and finally it all ended when lighting struck the rivers allowing the water to hit parts of the town that were on fire. Ventus woke up and saw Terra and Aqua sitting near him. The two filled him in.

Ventus sr: What are we going to do now? First Xehanort's followers start acting up, now this.

Aqua sr: We'll jusy need to keep a watchful eye.

Back on Destiny Islands Sora and Kairi are taking care of their children. Riku and the others often visit, helping the island expand and setting up defense's just in case of any unwelcomed guests. Some weeks past and the new gang of warriors attacked several worlds but our hero's weren't able to track them down. One day Mickey, Lea and the students were attacked in Disney Castle, explosions were going off everywhere until everything was destroyed except for the Throne Room.

Minnie: Mickey! What's going on?

Mickey: I have an idea but I hope I'm wrong.

???: Majesties. Come with us, and no one will get hurt.

Lea: Who do you think you are? You think we'll just surrender? I don't think so! Prepare to pay for your crimes!

???: I'll take this one.

Lea and the mysterious fight battle it out both are evenly matched. But as time passed Lea grew tired, and the other fighter grew more aggressive.

???: I've played with you long enough weakling.

Lea: I'm only getting started.

???: Is that so? Fine then, I will finish you here and now!

The fighter moved quickly in for the kill, but Lea jumps over the fighter and pulls back the hood, revealing a woman with pink hair. She took out her weapon and charged again, Lea knocks the weapon from her hand. The dark corridor opens and Riku along with Ansem the Wise and Master Eraqus walk through it.

Ansem the Wise: Stop! Lighting, we know why you are here.

Eraqus: Along with your teammates we can help you in your quest.

Lighting: How could you know?

Riku: Yen Sid still is more active than you might think.

Lighting: Yen Sid?

Mickey: An overseer of the worlds, a wizard, and a very wise man.

Lea: Wait a minute, you look like Sarah Farron's sister, I thought you died.

Lighting: No, I'm alive but her life hangs in the balance.

Riku: Lea you know her?

Lea: Yeah, we were childhood friends before I came to Radiant Graden.

Lighting: We'll if your serious I'd like to introduce my team. This is Snow Villers my future brother in law. Hope Estine and Vanille, along with Fang and Sazh.

Riku: Nice to meet you now why are you after Mickey and Minnie?

Lighting: We need their DNA. A man named Xehanort entered our lives nearly five years ago. Many warriors stormed the castle but he summoned these monsters one by one they fell. I tried to get everyone I could out, but four years later Xehanort finally found us, he captured my sister and Sazh's son. If we bring him the DNA of every powerful Keyblade Weilder we can find there's a reward. We hope it will be our loved ones.

Riku: Lighting, Xehanort is one of the most evil people out there. He almost brought everything we know in our universe to its knees. Not to mention Anti-Sora five years ago.

Lighting: Anti-Sora? Thats Xehanort's right-hand man, his top warrior, a monster who delights in killing innocent people.

Riku: Xehanort, if he wants the most powerful Keyblade Weilders, then he's got us.

Lighting: What? You'll come with us?

Riku: Yes, this is the last time he gets away.

Mickey: He will never be gone unless his Seekers are whipped out as well.

Riku: True, half of us must stay here and continue the search. Lea, Mickey and I will go pay a visit to Xehanort, Minnie can you transport Ansem, Eraqus and the students to Yen Sid's Tower and Destiny Islands?

Minnie: I can transport to Destiny Islands but I'm not sure if I can make the second jump.

Lea: Thats fine I'll open a corridor in Destiny Islands, when you get there Eraqus and Ansem can just walk through the door.

Ansem: Be careful Riku, I feel there is a force behind even Xehanort with a higher power. These fighters could easily stand up to Xehanort and do some serious damage.

Lea: We'll be fine. Just think of it as a training session.

Lighting: We need to go.

Lea: Lets get this over with. Where is he?

Lighting: Oerba, a place where many people lived in peace before Ragnarock. A monster whose soul purpose was to destroy.

The groups went their separate ways and began their missions. Sora and Kairi were notified of what has transpired, Sora and Kairi asked if Minnie could watch their children while Sora went on to find someone who could open a gateway to the other universe and Kairi would join him after she took the students to Yen Sids Tower.

kingdom Hearts Vol. 17 A Girl Named Serah

 

Sora, Lightning and Lea were stepping out of the portal that lead Lightning's team to the different worlds. PSICOM troops were roaming the streets arresting innocent people that Xehanort thought might have connections with the rebel forces.

Woman: Help me! Please someone!

Sora: Lightning we've gotta help her.

Lightning: We will help her Sora, but not now.

Lea: Why not?

Lightning: We have more important matters to attend to. Besides this is Snow's and Sazh's job.

Sora: So you're just gonna turn around and walk away?

Lightning: Would you listen to me! Nothing we do now will help us, if it were up to me Xehanort would already be dead. Then none of this would have ever happened, this hell would never had existed. But I was too weak, I've been in the cells, I only escaped when Snow and Sazh came to rescue me.

Lea: Where were the rest of your team?

Lightning: Fang was a decoy, and Hope and Vanille were told to stay behind just in case.

Sora: I see. We'd better find a place to hide for now, until the others get here.

Lightning: My team will be here shortly after noon tomorrow.

Lea: You have a connection with them?

Lightning: It's what I told them, Snow will bring Mickey, Riku, Kairi and your students, Sazh will bring Terra sr, Aqua sr and Ventus sr, and finally Fang will bring Hope, Vanille, Ansem the Wise and Eraqus.

Sora: Good that way we all will be able to beat Xehanort with ease.

Lea: I don't know Sora I fought Lightning and she says Xehanort is too powerful for her to handle. We might not be strong enough with all the PSICOM troops he'll have guarding him. Lightning does he have an apprentice?

Lightning: Yes, several, unfortunately. They are mind controlled rebel troops, Xehanort is taking them to slow us down and thinks we won't find a way to break the hold over them.

Sora: Friends against each other, one is ruthless the other is afraid to hurt their friend.

Lightning: Family against family too. My sister and Sazh's son. We have them but the doctors can't figure out what to do. PSICOM has a new technology, this is the outcome.

The three went on to the rebel hideout to see if there were any new developments, the doctors had to resort to injecting them with a sleeping drug. The three went on to find the rebel responsible for creating the army.

Cloud: Lightning come in, wait, Sora! You haven't aged a day since the last time I saw you in Hollow Bastion decades ago.

Sora: Oh right, well I was aging up till five years ago when a villain named Anti-Sora thought the team would be weaker if they were younger but that didn't happen. Remember Xemnas?

Cloud: The man responsible for the outbreak of heartless in Hollow Bastion?

Sora: Close enough, he was half of Xehanort.

Sora filled Cloud in on all he missed over the years. Lea and Lightning went back to the doctors working on the mind controlled friends.

Lightning: This is my sister, Serah. She and Snow are engaged, but now look at her now. When we first found her she tried to take his head off. Snow thinks he has to be the one to save everyone from Xehanort but he can't even save the love of his life. He's always been that way just thinking he can do this but when the time comes his mouth proves him wrong, constantly.

Doctor: General Lightning, who's he?

Lightning: A new recruit, Lea.

Doctor: Well his weapon looks like something Xehanort has, young man that wouldn't happen to be the X-Blade would it?

Lea: No, but Sora does have the power to summon it. I'll go get him.

Lightning: Of course, our weapons aren't enough to overpower the darkness in their minds but theirs might be.

Lea ran as fast as he could to Sora and Cloud. A sudden explosion stopped Lea in his tracks, the smoked cleared it was Xehanort but something was different, he was younger, his body build was like Riku's, he looked to be about thirty.

Xehanort: Well if it isn't Lea, you look younger but then again you're probably thinking of the same about me. How'd you like to resume your post but this time as second in command?

Lea: The offer is tempting but I decline. Seriously Xehanort, we will find a way to finish you.

Lightning: Lea, are you alright? Xehanort!

Xehanort: Lightning, ready for another round already? Didn't I teach you a lesson last time?

Cloud: Xehanort!

Xehanort: You must be Cloud, yes, I know all about you and your little attempts to try to stop me, know this, this world is mine and darkness will roam these skies forever.

Lightning: What do you want?

Xehanort: You stole something from me, I'm not done with Sarah.

Lightning: What the hell are you talking about, leave her out of this you monster!

Xehanort: Make me.

Sora: Lightning has backup this time, and it doesn't look like you do.

Xehanort: Sora? You think you have what it takes to beat me?

Sora: I have the X-Blade Xehanort! You think you're going to win now?

Xehanort: The X-Blade, how? Oh well I think you've got enough power for now but I'll be back tomorrow enjoy your last 24 hours.

Xehanort disappeared and our heroes were given a break for now. Sarah was safe, by luck the X-Blade did work, Sarah was unconscious but she seemed to be back to normal. Lea and Lightning were watching the tests going on outside the room.

Lea: This must be a relief, huh?

Lightning: Yes, to know she is safe, but how safe are we?

Lea: As long as Sora keeps up with his training with the X-Blade then we should have a good chance against Xehanort. Trust me we'll be fine. We always are.

Lightning: What about when you go back to your world, and what if Xehanort shows up again, will Sora have the strength to kill him this time?

Lea: We will do what needs to be done.

Tomorrow is the day that the fate of the world will be decided. Lea and Lightning will need to form a strategy, reinforcements will be needed, and Sora needs to train with the X-Blade.

Kingdom Hearts Vol. 18 First Strike

 

With the upcoming battle with Xehanort nearing Sora, Lightning and the gang continue with their resistance, everyday it seems like the people are being captured or killed. Cloud has left Lightning in charge while he goes off to free his captured teammates, Leon, Yuffie, Tidus and Aireth. At the Resistance headquarters Lightning speaks with Sora Mickey and Lea.

Lightning: You're all crazy! You think Xehanort will just let you walk through the door!

Sora: Lightning calm down, we've got a plan.

Lightning: Yeah to get yourselves killed! You're some of the strongest warriors I've ever met. The resistance can't loose you!

Mickey: Relax Lightning its not a suicide mission, we're not planning on fighting at all. All we need to do is scope the place out, who knows we might to make a quick exit when we charge in there.

Lightning: Fine. But wait for Cloud to get back with the others so I can come with you.

Sora: Sounds good when's he getting back?

Lea: He said he'd be back tomorrow.

Sora: That's good but we need to go as soon as we can.

Lightning: Be patient, tomorrow we'll go in guns blazing.

Mickey: Only if we get caught.

Lightning: There's a 95% chance we'll get caught, the place is crawling with PISCOM troops.

Lea: Is there another topic we need to discuss?

Snow bursts through the doors and turns on the television. Flipping through the channels trying to find the news.

Lightning: Snow! What's going on? What's the meaning of this?

Snow: Cloud's been captured by the PISCOM and I'Ce armies. Xehanort is ordering an execution!

Lightning: What! What about Leon, Yuffie, Tidus and Aireth?

Snow: He never even made it to them, the army was waiting for him.

Lightning: Of course, how was I so blind? All of them in one spot, it was a trap from the beginning. Xehanort! Sora, Mickey, Lea, wait here. Snow lets go!

Snow: Right behind you, let's go get Cloud back!

Mickey: Lightning, Snow wait. You won't make it Xehanort is there, even if you set Cloud free, the three of you won't be able beat him.

Lea: Mickey's right. Let us come with.

Lightning: I'm in charge of this operation! It's Snow and I that I'll go.

Sora: Stand down Lightning, you're not in charge of us.

Lightning: You're right. Sazh, Fang now!

Sazh and Fang jump out from the shadows, and face towards Sora, Lea and Mickey.

Sazh: Sorry kid, don't move, there's your warning.

Fang: Trust us mate, we don't wanna hurt you. But we will if you move.

Lightning and Snow run off, Sazh and Fang lower their weapons.

Fang: Alright now listen up kiddies. We're gonna go help Snow and Light, all of us.

Sazh: Nothin personal guys, we just needed to look good for Lightning.

Sora: So what are we waiting for?

Fang: The two of 'em need a head start don't they?

Lea: Ok, yeah I get it now. We need to get a move on people.

Snow and Lightning arrived at the prison, Cloud was coming out of the prison with two PISCOM guards behind him. They shoved Cloud into a freshly dug pit where a gathering of PISCOM and I'Ce were waiting. Xehanort threw him his sword, Cloud quickly fought off everyone in the pit.

Xehanort: Ah, very good young warrior. You've proven more than a match for the PISCOM and I'Ce, but I wonder what would happen if you fought your friends. Bring out Leon, Tidus, Yuffie and Aireth!

Cloud: You're stupid old man! They won't fight me.

Xehanort: I wouldn't be too sure of that young man. Let's just say they've had a change of heart.

Cloud turns around to see a blank look on all their faces. Leon doesn't hesitate, he pulls out his weapon and fires at Cloud, Leon stops then charges at Cloud. They seem to be moving so fast that the others except Xehanort can't seem to follow at all, Yuffie blindly throws her knives eventually hits Cloud in his arm. Cloud drops to the ground, before he looks up Tidus and Aireth draw they're weapons and striking Cloud repeatedly until he's almost lost consciousness.

Cloud: Xehanort! What the hell have you done to them?

Xehanort: I told you they'd had a change of heart, don't you sense their dark, primal nature? They've lost their hearts boy. Can't tell you how long they suffered before the darkness set in.

Cloud: You monster! Curse you to hell!

Xehanort: You'll see hell before I do. Playtime is over pets, you can kill him now.

Lightning: Enough! Snow you get Cloud I'll handle Xehanort.

Snow: Light you only need to stall him don't do anything reckless.

Snow made quick work of Leon and Yuffie. Tidus and Aireth still over Cloud trembled as Snow walked towards them. Sora arrived and knocked Tidus out cold Fang jumped down behind Aireth and gave her a good hit on the head. Lightning was losing the battle with Xehanort, until Lea and Mickey came between them.

Lea: Sorry, are we interrupting?

Xehanort: Not at all, in fact now Anti-Sora can test his strength. I'm sure you've grown stronger since the old days, but then again so has he.

Mickey: Fine then Xehanort, bring it on. Where is he?

Xehanort: Why don't you worry about your surroundings? Goodbye friends, it's been nice but I must lead an attack elsewhere. Anti-Sora you can kill them now.

Anti-Sora came out from the prison walls, expanding his arms around Mickey, Lightning, and Lea. Anti-Sora's mouth grew and ate the three warriors casting them into darkness. They awoke in a dark cavern, Lea used fire to light up the cavern but as soon as he'd finished Anti-Sora was there ready to strike.

Lea: But how?

Mickey: I don't know but it doesn't matter now. No holding back let's finish him once and for all!

Lea: Last time we had the X-Blade, and backup.

Lightning: We don't need backup.

Mickey: Lightning, are you sure you're ready to fight?

Lightning: I have to.

Mickey: Cura!

Anti-Sora: You won't stop me. I've come back from the dead once, I'll do it again.

Mickey: Not this time.

Lea: Mickey? What's your plan?

Mickey: Lightning and I will keep him busy, you work on opening a portal to Castle Oblivion.

Lightning: Sounds like a plan. What's Castle Oblivion?

Lea: It's a castle that if you keep wandering through it you'll forget everything and be doomed to oblivion.

Lightning: Okay, and we'll kill him there?

Mickey: Yes but not right away. He must have enough time to forget who he is.

Lightning and Mickey attack Anti-Sora without hesitation, but they're both caught off guard. Mickey gets knocked out and Lightning stumbles to her feet, Anti-Sora charges at her and knocks Lightning on her back.

Anti-Sora: Well I must say I am disappointed. You're one of the strongest warriors in your rebellion, aren't you? What's the matter, afraid to die? Hope that's not gonna be a problem if I make your dying as slow and as painful as possible.

Lea: Anti-Sora!

Anti-Sora: Sorry I'm busy give me a minu-.

Anti-Sora is knocked to the floor, Lea blindly swings his Keyblade, his body in pieces, as he attempts to reform, Anti-Sora tries to speak but nothing comes out. Lea picks up the pieces of Anti-Sora's body and throws him in the portal opened deep inside Castle Oblivion. Lea and Lightning start walking towards Mickey and the dark cavern disappears, they're standing right in front of the pit.

Lea: We never left?

Lightning: Guess not.

Mickey woke up and darted towards the pit where Sora and the others had been fighting.

Mickey: Well looks like our friends are fairing pretty well. Lightning, do you have room for four more patients at the base?

Lightning: We have cells to hold them but we only have one doctor and one operating table.

Lea: That'll work.

Leon, Yuffie, Tidus and Aireth were taken to base, as for Sora and Cloud, they went on to free more captives such as Noel, Zack and Cid.

Kingdom Hearts Vol. 19 Return of Sephrioth

 

Sora and Cloud approached the prison gates, strangely enough there were no guards anywhere in sight. As the dashed towards the prison walls they jumped over them in an instant. Still no guards on the other side, but Sora and Cloud were visited by an orb of darkness. The orb began to spat nonsense, and quickly vanished back into the prison.

Sora: What was that all about?

Cloud: Well Sora, I'm not sure, but something was defiantly familiar about that orb.

Sora: Now that you mention it, I think so too.

Cloud: But we must focus on the task at hand for now.

Sora: Right, we have to find, Zack, Cid, and Noel. Where do you think they'd be?

Cloud: My guess, at the center of it all.

Sora: Right. Did you hear that?

Suddenly an alarm sounded and the two heroes were surrounded by PSICOM troops.

PSICOM: Halt! This is as far as you go, scum!

Cloud: Sora, why must we continue to prove our strength to these guys?

Sora: Not sure Cloud. Maybe they just have a bad memory.

Cloud: PSICOM troops! Prepare to fight your last battle! Sora use your magic.

Sora: Gravity!

The PSICOM troops flew up into the sky and Sora and Cloud quickly dispatched them all. Sora then used Aeroga and blew them all away. The two continued their journey inside, quickly making their way to the center of the prison. The orb had once again made an appearance outside the door holding Zack, Cid and Noel.

Sora: You again? What do you want?

Cloud: Sora, I remember now. That voice, but it can't be. I killed him!

Orb: Cloud, you're a fool to think you killed me. You can't kill your own darkness. Ah, Sora, how you tried several times, but to no avail. Now we can finally settle things, today, now, you two will never get the upper hand on me ever again.

The orb changed into Sephiroth, but older, wearing a hooded jacket much like Organization XIII. Cloud and Sephiroth begin their heated battle and start forming craters all around them, even setting the ground on fire when they finally landed.

Sora: Cloud, you wanna tag out?

Cloud: Sora, get to the others, get them out of here now! I'll fight Sephiroth alone.

Sora: Cloud that's stupid, at this rate you can't afford to fight him alone. I'm staying, we'll beat him together.

Cloud: Even with your help we won't have much of a chance. It'd be a waste if we fought him together here.

Sora: The army needs you, I'm not leaving.

Suddenly a portal opened, emerging from the darkness was Xehanort.

Xehanort: No one is leaving this place, sorry Sora but your time in my world has come to an end. Prepare for your demise, in the most brutal way possible.

An explosion of darkness came from behind Xehanort, revealing Lea, Mickey and Lightning. Lea carried a PSICOM troop over his shoulder, Lightning held a communication device in her hand and Mickey, along with his Keyblade, had an old book of spells.

Xehanort: You again? Oh this is a treat I have all of you, my enemies, in one spot.

Sazh: Think again old coot. You're about to get more than you bargained for.

Sazh, Snow, Fang Vanille and Hope all jumped from their Eidolens in the sky. Xehanort is shocked to see all these powerful fighter, but still not showing any fear, but a smile on his face is quickly followed by laughter.

Xehanort: Is this all you've got? I must say I'm impressed but you've only evened the odds. Sephiroth and I could still over power all of you, in time. But please call more to your aid.

Lightning: Well Xehanort we have. As we speak Leon, Yuffie, Aireth, Tidus, and Serah have probably already freed Noel, Cid and Zack. It shouldn't be long until they arrive. In the mean time, Eidolens attack!

The Eidolens caught Sephiroth of balance and started their assault, constantly being healed by Hope, Vanille, and Sazh. The remaining members of the alliance attacked Xehanort proving to be more than a match for the old Keyblade master. For a while the assault continued until the pair of dark warriors fell unconscious. Cloud walked over towards Sephiroth and stabbed him continuously until Sephiroth was in pieces.

Cloud: Lea, I heard about what you did with Anti-Sora. Mind giving me a hand?

Lea: Sure. I'll open up the portal and you'll never have to worry about Sephiroth again.

The two tossed him in the basement of Castle Oblivion where the pieces of his body scattered themselves throughout the space. Lea closed the portal and wandered over to where the other were, beside Xehanort's unconscious body.

Sora: Now what to do with you? You've killed so many. Ruined lives. Done unforgivable things.

Cloud: Kill him!

Lea: No, that's not an option. Sora let's take him back to Yen Sid's.

Serah: Ok we're here. Where's Xehanort?

Lightning: Somewhere inside his mind.

Sora: Lea has a good point but we won't take him just yet. Lightning he must answer for his crimes in your world.

Lightning: Sora, he can't undo what he's done.

Lea: Right, so Sora, when do you want to take him back?

Sora: Tomorrow perhaps.

Mickey: Sora's right we need to take pride in what happened here today. Cloud with the threat no longer here, we should throw a party back at the base.

Cloud: The base? No, tonight we celebrate our victory at the Kingdom!

The Kingdom was a beautiful place surrounded by pillars, stain glass windows and newly created statues of the heroes who saved the world. There was dancing, storytelling, and various other activities. Sora turns towards the door to a balcony and walks out to see the night sky, lightning struck the balcony, Sora was hanging on by the edge, quickly Sora jumped to his feet and ran inside the Kingdom.

Lea: Man, Sora. What happened out there?

Lightning: We thought you'd fallen off.

Mickey: See guys, what did I tell ya. You can't keep Sora down.

Sora: I heard a voice as the lightning hit.

Mickey: Whoa did you see anyone?

Sora: A skeleton. He had a Keyblade.

Mickey: This isn't good.

Lea: Mickey, do you know something?

Mickey: Well Lea, back when I was training under Yen Sid I came across a book. It was labeled as the Legends of the Keyblade War.

Sora: Mickey, could this be something do to do with the book you saw.

Mickey: It might be, the book had all kinds of prophecies, and a timeline in which these events might occur. The first was the fight with the Shadows which I understand now to be the War between the time in which Sora first fought Xehanort through the time the fall of Anti-Sora came about. Then the War Between Worlds, which we've just won, and now the War Between Time.

Sora: The War Between Time?

Mickey: Yes Sora, in this legend the Light must combat the ancient Light and Dark, if we win the Keyblade War will not affect our lives in the present, however if we lose we're doomed to suffer the fate of war the rest of eternity.

Lea: That's terrible!

Mickey: That's not the worst part, at least half of the Lights from the present are destined to fall. If we can't win the Keyblade War it will destroy everything we know. Sora we must go back and rally everyone, our friends, the Seekers, anyone we can!

Sora: Right, Lea open up a portal.

Lea: On it.

Lightning: You won't need to, if the skeleton came to this world our worlds must be in the process of connecting. Soon we will combine our two worlds and a new, stronger world will be formed.

Mickey: Our universe is full of worlds.

Lightning: As is ours. Soon all the planets will form into one. Chaos will start up as it did before, the sky will be different, the environment will have characteristics of all the worlds, people will create bigger cities to accommodate everyone. History will repeat itself in that matter.

Lea: Whoa cool.

Sora: Well I guess we should start introducing our team, as soon as they get here anyway. Mickey are there any other legends we need to know about?

Mickey: Sorry Sora, that's as far as I ever got. Yen Sid told me I wasn't ready for all of that.

Lightning struck the ground outside but it did not vanish. Buildings began to form, in the distance the others could see Yen Sid's tower, not only the tower but the familiar land under it appeared as well soon it began to slowly rise up into the air, there was a good twenty feet between the tower and the ground. Traverse Town was just outside the Kingdom with Twilight Town on the other side. Disney Castle and Destiny Islands were out further than Yen Sid's tower but still kind of close. Destiny Islands was still surrounded by water, and Disney Castle was perched on a hill.

Sora: Do you see anyone Lea?

Lea: Well we've got Riku, Kairi and your students coming from the Destiny Islands.

Mickey: Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Eraqus, coming from Disney Castle.

Sora: Roxas, Xion, Namine, from Twilight Town. Looks like everyone else are coming out of Traverse town. This is great we're all here! Hey! Guys! Over here!

Shortly the gang was reunited, they spoke of the danger but also the success in their missions. Riku and Kairi fought off the Seekers whenever the showed their faces, but also had a strange skeleton visit them, Eraqus studied the material he could find but the clues didn't exactly add up until he, Riku, Kairi, Terra, Aqua and Ventus heard from Yen Sid that there was a book on his shelf telling tales about the Keyblade War. Everyone knew what was going to happen but now they have no idea how to combat this new threat. Would they find help? Could they find a way to end this before it even begins? All this and more will be answered next time in, Kingdom Hearts Vol. 20 The Past Reawakened.
