Tails 6,690 Posted September 22, 2012 (edited) They both have that magical feeling you get when you play the games. I mean, have you ever played any other game that gets you all emotional at some parts, if not maybe throughout the whole game? Zelda and Kingdom hearts are the only 2 games that just have that magic feeling to them. Well...Kingdom hearts is starting to lose that feeling with each new game that comes out. I mean to me the newer Kingdom Hearts games feels sort of like an anime to me. Especially with BBS While Zelda, on the other had, still retains that magical feeling you get when you play each new game. And the music, the music in both franchises are both good. Square and Nintendo never disappoint with the music of both games. Then there's the story, both franchises have amazing stories. Not one KH game has a disappointing story (okay maybe Coded/Re:Coded does ut you know what i mean). Same thing could be said about the Zelda games. Not one Zelda game has a bad storyline. Silent Fantasy 43 Posted September 22, 2012 (edited) Zelda never really relies on story, so most games have very thin stories if you actually look at them. The gameplay is most important in that series and Nintendo knows that. And Kingdom Hearts may seem like an anime because, basically, it is. (Though, anime doesn't equel bad. There's good anime just as much as bad like anything else) I have to agree with the comment about the MGS series. All of those are excellent and able to hit many different cords. (goofy, serious, epic, dramatic, touching, awsome, sad) Great game series. Edited September 22, 2012 by Silent Fantasy
Weiss 8,279 Posted September 22, 2012 The only games that have ever made me have a really strong emotion are KH1 and Chrono cross. Both had very good endings.
WakelessDream 2,278 Posted September 22, 2012 Zelda is my number 2 favorite video game series, KH takes the cake for number one, I get really into the story of the Zelda games, as I do with KH and they both have have such loveable musical tracks. For me they both have their separate individual flare that just makes the games so lovable. And they both get me emotional sometimes, especially KH does more than Zelda, but Zelda especially Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, and TP, all made me emotional so yeaaa :
Dracozombie 4,554 Posted September 22, 2012 How about FFVI and Mother 3 for some emotional torques? FFIX and X had their moments, too.

Amon 4,279 Posted September 22, 2012 Especially the story I wouldn't even call it a story since conflicts never get resolved. Stuff just keeps on happening and it builds up to nothing. Rather, it starts to build up but then completely collapses and it's back to square one. 1 hatok reacted to this

XIIISwords 1,059 Posted September 22, 2012 I would agree with you. Those two series both have that special feel to them. I don't mean to break the chain, but I'd put Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games in a similar category. Each game has a beautifully compelling story and although the playstyles are identical, they all seem new and magical. The music is some of the best of the Pokemon series. Indeed, confusing but indeed does the Zelda games have no bad storylines at all, i think it's just the connecting the dots up part that needs some work on. MAtgS 70 Posted September 23, 2012 You Know What KH And Zelda Have In Common? -Light & Darkness as sources of power? -Pointy eared, dark-skinned main villains with a knack of cheating death? -Common shapes taught to preschoolers becoming key iconography for their lore? -Main heroes who have like a ton of alternate versions of themselves? -Including 1 life as female? (BS Zelda, look it up) -Main heroes having to fight their own shadows? -Main heroes who lament that they'll never be as famous as the short stacked white glove wearing mascots they're associated with? -Cute shotas with creepy older men BFFs? -Forcing obnoxious flying mini-games in order to travel to other areas? -Really shitty games made by an outside party that the original creators rightfully refuse to acknowledge? -Convoluted timelines with too damn many retcons for their own good? -Water levels that sucked everytime? -Whales that are overly fond of snacking on main characters? -& highly dubious internal anatomy? -Handheld entries set in dream worlds? -That feeling they'll never make another console game that pleases the fanbase? *reads OP's post* Oh that was going be my next guess. 1 Caity reacted to this

Lol Zelda sucks? Why don't you try Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Minish Cap, Oracle of Ages, the first Zelda, Zelda II, and Skyward Sword? Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted September 24, 2012 It's very hard to compare Kingdom Hearts and Zelda, because both are well-developed and amazing! While I tend to agree that Zelda doesn't have quite as much plot or character development as a typical RPG (since, actually, it's not one), the gameplay more than makes up for this area. Still, I'd probably say that I enjoy Kingdom Hearts a smidgen more, since I'm all about character development!
