KHDays Considering A Days Remake

Let me put it out there- DAYS IS NOT GOING TO BE REMADE FOR KH 1.5! ONLY ITS CUTSCENES ARE GOING TO BE INCLUDED!

 

I'm using that prior statement to write about Days, but this is not a thread about the recent announcement. With all this talk about Days not getting a real remake, the question becomes if we want one or not, and not necessarily now, but maybe in years down the line.

 

I'd love a remake, as it is the only title other than Re:coded without PS2-level graphics. The story was fun and it would be great to have Roxas and Xion in HD. Days was a personal favorite in the KH series for me, although BBS is my favorite gameplay-wise.

 

What would it play like? Would it be it's typical system with the gears? Or would it turn into a Command System like BBS?

 

I'd like to keep it the same, to keep with the game's tradition, but I'll also be the first one to say that if it had a Command System it would be a great (if not better) game. An extension of available moves would be interesting too while preserving the original playstyle- instead of stocking 5 Fires, you could stock 3 Strike Raids. I'd also want Mission Mode to make each character a little more unique.

 

What system would it be for? Would it be joining KH 1.5 on the PS3? What about a 3DS release? Or Vita?

 

I would doubt it's release for the PS3, considering that it will already have its cutscenes on the system. 3DS would make a lot of sense, and it could easily run off of 3D's engine while keeping with the tradition of the game. Vita would be an interesting option too. It would be unique and extend the market to non-Nintendo players. I would be behind 3DS or Vita because Days was stated to be designed for portable play.

Are you kidding me? How can you just include the cutscenes without the actual game? It makes no sense.

People kept saying there was to be a remake, and that was whaty I wanted most. I don't want Kingdom Hearts, I've played RE:CoM way too much, this whole HD set is kind of disappointing now.

Days remake was really the only reason I wanted 1.5. Now that it is revealed that its only the cut scenes, I really don't care.

 

I would love a 3DS remake (since a console remake would be on PS3, which I don't have/want). Days has my favorite story in the series, would love a reason to play it again.

I really wanted 358/2 days HD so badly, pretty disappointed its just the cutscenes.

KH1 final mix is the only thing I'm looking for, KH:Re:CoM...ehhhhhh

I think Days would highly benefit from a remake more than any other game in the series. It would be awesome to see more HD cut scene's in the game and even a better battle system, maybe something similar to Birth By Sleep. I was really disappointed hearing that only the Days cut scenes will be in the HD remake.

They should have just not included anything about Days at all. Including just the cut scenes is pointless. This is kinda like TWEWY iOS, they gave us hope, and then killed it. At least this time they had the decency to kill the hope quickly. I am also questioning how they would go about the Final Mix remake if 1.5 comes out in Japan. If they wanted Days in, but were to lazy to actually put it in, whose to say they'll go through the extra effort to localize the FM additions?

It's supposed to be another 'newcomer's' introduction title, and making it cost-efficiently too. I also don't think they'll be localizing this. Edited September 20, 2012 by Uncle Dolan

Days was the only game I was desperate for in HD.

Now they're being lazy and just doing cutscenes along with two other games that were already decent graphics as it is. I'll be grateful if Europe finally gets Re:CoM... but other than that...

Disappointed big time.

I don't mind the cutscenes being it, but I would like to see them actually appear in game, like, you finish KH1, and see the important cutscenes to where Axel is sent to CO, then you play COM and see the scenes where they need to be. For outsiders (people who haven't played all titles or the series) it would help them understand if it was put in correct order

However that isn't going to happen. So boo.

I'm not sure if is possible to remake the game without the mission system, because that was key to the story. If you want more openness, maybe they could open the worlds up to free roaming and activate the missions inside of each world instead.

Probably what you said where you can activate the missions inside the world. Like, you go to a world (could have an interesting travel system (gummi ship, glider thing) where you fight as you go through the Corridors of Darkness), and there's certain landmarks/items (e.g. moogle, sigil, nobody sign, people) that you can interact with to start a mission and be free to drop out yet stay in the world

A total remake would have been nice, a fully expanded version, with more Organization revealing, and if the only thing new is Final Mix, I don't intend to buy it, I'll I want are some decent Days cutscenes, preferably with Organization voicing)

i dont like kh1 'n com in HD. i can play it in emulator with more HD.

but 358'2Days is impressed in HD and Versus/duel modes.
