Sorage55 10 Posted February 13, 2010 I'm in a real jam here. For some reason I have no interest in AMV creating anymore. I used to love doing it but now, idk. Of course my AMVs were never that good, I made countless amounts of them. Perhaps I should retire? Perhaps I should completely focus m attention on making gifs instead of vids. I've worked hard all the time and they still turn out crappy! Maybe I should just give up. What do you all think? -_- http://www.youtube.com/user/Sorage55
Aaron 579 Posted February 13, 2010 You cant really ask anyone else that question. If you enjoy it, do it. If you dont enjoy it. GIVE IT UP Did you make your signature? If you did its really good lol.

Sorage55 10 Posted February 13, 2010 Uhh, yeah. I made that sig using Pivot. Well I just don't know if I enjoy AMV creating anymore. I'm dangling off the edge of a cliff, i'm able to get up, but, do I want to?
Kaiso 2,764 Posted February 13, 2010 Well, if you know you don't want to give it up, don't. Keep practicing and trying to find new things to do to make your amv's more unique or creative. Also, working on something else from time to time always helps me. If you don't give up and you use wmm, have you tried adding a few extra downloaded effects just for fun? http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/Forums/Default.aspx has a nice section for add-ons. Though you can still learn to make really awesome videos with out it, it sometimes is nice to have a few extra effects for a little more uniqueness. AMV's are also just for fun. If you're having no fun, either take a break from it, or try something else. It's a hobby just like everything else. x3 Who knows, maybe you'll miss it to where you'll come back and try it again. I've done that many times.

Oblivion 15 Posted February 13, 2010 Take a break, at least. Starve yourself of AMV making. That way, when you do go back to it, you'll have alot a fresh ideas and you'll be excited about what you're doing. Until then,if it bores you, don't keep trying. Basically and metaphorically, even though someone ay enjoy ham sandwiches, that doesn't mean they have them all the time or they'll get bored. However, if take a break from them, then when you do go back it'll be better. I wouldn't give it up though. I suck at explaining this.
Sorage55 10 Posted February 14, 2010 you've explained well enough. And thank you, I guess I should starve myself of AMV creating. And find if I have any want for it still after awhile.

darklighter 4 Posted February 14, 2010 Listen, do what makes yourself happy. If making AMVS is your thing youll know. Dont get a job you hate, do what makes you happy. -Zach
Sorage55 10 Posted February 14, 2010 Well, I guess i'll return back to AMVs but I have this entirely new MM system I need to get used to. It doesn't have the signature effects and transitions I usually use, but it has different ones. I've already made a Valentine's Day Tribute with it (visible in the videos section) and I think I might be able to get used to it.
I-like-my-sitar 0 Posted February 15, 2010 I don't see why you should retire, if you think your anmvs and gmvs and all that other stuff suk then y dont you try a new style? and i also think if you enjoy it, then you should keep on doing it! i bet there good but u just THINK they suck! don't compare it with other people either, they have their style, you have yours! hope i helped
SquallxRinoa 0 Posted February 15, 2010 Ya don't have to give it up just...take a break or something (I do this ALL the time). It could just be a bad case of block : You should really only edit if you WANT to and not as a chore. I mean if you keep saying to yourself you HAVE to edit because you know..you're an editor then it just makes it worse. Anyway, I'm just curious but you said you're using a new MM system just now for your videos...what is it? (I'm nosy )

But unlike my other movie maker, this one doesn't take gifs. (So I cannot make gif vids which I WAS doing) But it is still good for KH AMVs.
