hatok 6,413 Posted September 5, 2012 I'm not sure what to think of this so far. At the most I'm sort of confused. At the moment it doesn't really feel like the 3rd part to Final Fantasy XIII. Is everybody else dead ? Did they kill everybody else off ? That seems a tad unfair. But it's all too early and everything. Though I'm hoping that Noel, Hope and the others are still around. Odds are it'll deal with saving Noel, Hope, Serah, and pretty much everybody else
Queen Tery 4,591 Posted September 5, 2012 Odds are it'll deal with saving Noel, Hope, Serah, and pretty much everybody else I kind of don't want them to save Serah, but I feel like they will. It doesn't really have anything to do with her character, I just feel like it would be more meaningful if she stayed dead.

They left Snow without any closure.sure, having Lightning and Snow actually cope with the permanence of death would make for a GREAT story... but it won't happen Edited September 5, 2012 by hatok 1 Queen Tery reacted to this

razuthor72 89 Posted September 5, 2012 Finally we can be done with Lightning. Hater alert. Back in my day FF games actually had good gameplay AND excellent storytelling. No trilogies to cover up extreme failure FF edition. I'm super tired of all these FFXIII fan boys/girls.
RikuVazquez 108 Posted September 5, 2012 The fanboy in me is jumpin around all over the place, looking foward to this game I'm getting impatient for versus xii
baylaust 2,531 Posted September 5, 2012 (edited) This all seems interesting, and I definitely await seeing how it will end up playing out, seeing as how it looks like they're almost completely revamping how the game plays. One thing I am curious about, is how Noel will fit into this. Assuming Caius is still around causing trouble, which I'm fairly certain he is, he and Noel are more or less destined enemies. There was never really that much feeling you get between him and Lightning, despite the opening of the game and the DLC. I guess though, assuming Caius is around and probably stronger than ever, Lightning would be the only one powerful enough to take him down. Still, if Hope is in this game, then I'm guessing Noel will play a decent role in it as well. Overall, interested, but I won't go as far as to say I'm excited yet. I'll wait for a trailer. XIII ended perfectly well, the trilogy wasn't covering anything up, it was a cash grab.(Also, technically FFIV is a trilogy now) (Never mind VII) Edited September 5, 2012 by hatok
RikuVazquez 108 Posted September 5, 2012 http://kotaku.com/59...t-final-fantasy From reading the article it seems like you have 312 hours to complete the game...this better be a REALLY long game. Either way I can't see how the story will be any good. I'll honestly say I only play Final Fantasy XII and XIII-2 for the visuals cause they are BEAUTIFUL, but I hate the gameplay. XIII-2 improved on the whole thing. But I haven't finished either and probably won't...I"m still buying this game though...damn you Square Enix, why must you make your games look so desirable and pretty I hope it is long and it lives up to the hype, I'm impatient for this already

Okay I honestly haven't played the whole game, bout 10 hours logged. I was going off of the opinions of a few close friends who hold FF in high regards and stated that XIII was a huge disappointment. Suppose I should experience it for myself to make a better judgement, sorry for the ignorance.

True that, the original playstation final fantasy games were more polished in the gameplay and story, though they came on multiple discs because dvd were not available at the time They should hurry up with Versus XIII it has been 6 years since it's announcement

So polished. That's why I can create infinite numbers of any item in VII, or force Garnet to stay mute in IX. Or kill the final boss with a death spell in VI And why there are plot contradictions and typos in the dialog in all of the games, and plot points that lead nowhere, and completely random final bosses I'm sorry, XIII is THE most polished numbered FF... it's just that it's polished because they trimmed away most of the features from previous games

hatok 6,413 Posted September 6, 2012 Well each one has their own opinion, so I'll respect yours, to me XIII is the best one after VII Huh? I didn't say anything about anything being better than anything else. It's a fact that XIII has less features than previous FF games, and it's a fact that it's the most polished Okay, I'll give you "polished", but id much rather have features from previous games (good ones not all the glitches and such) than a really polished, boring game. Well of course having lots of great, polished features is nice, but in practice you usually need to pick one or the other.

KeyOfVentus 90 Posted September 6, 2012 I hope it is long and it lives up to the hype, I'm impatient for this already But a lot of people are just really mad it's being made. So the hype is mostly negative. Like I said I'm still gonna buy it if only to complete my collection...

But if I get this I probably won't get Versus what, are you going to die if you buy another FF? Or do you only have enough money for one more video game ever? (If so, save it for KH3)
KeybladeWielder_ 161 Posted September 11, 2012 what, are you going to die if you buy another FF? Or do you only have enough money for one more video game ever? (If so, save it for KH3) No, my mother believes in not spending much money on games and so enforces the same idea upon me. Therefore I decide to not buy games from the same series, besides Kingdom Hearts. That is why I only have one CoD, one Harry Potter, one GT, one NFS, one Star Wars and why I've only just started playing Final Fantasy. Relax.

That's different, you can't get Death until you beat the game, right? So it's an Easter Egg, if anything. The thing in VI is a straight up glitch
