hatok 6,413 Posted September 1, 2012 Final Fantasy XIII Episode VI: Return of the Lightning Her abilities change with her clothes? Will she be singing pop songs as well? Dawn of the thirteenth day, 312 hours remain There, I think I covered my bases. Gotta say, I'm hating the idea of a 312 hours real time world... but I'm loving the look of the world itself. Lightning being able to move is nice... though they're implying she is the ONLY playable character... And it's pretty obvious that Nobus is the result of the end of time Butyeah, overall seems nteresting. I'll pick it up if I have the money. Well it's based 100's of years after XIII-2, so i can safely say that it's a sequel Hundreds of years after a game about time travel? How does that even work? Crown Unlimit 234 Posted September 1, 2012 (edited) Cool. I'm pretty excited. I like that you can actually MOVE while fighting now. I hope this game is the great conclusion to Lightning's story that we've been waiting for. EDIT: I also kinda would like to play as other people than Lightning though, as they're almost implying that she's the only playable character. XIIISwords 1,059 Posted September 1, 2012 please tell me this isn't going to be a short game and its not going to have a good story Well, that is about 312 hours. I'm sure gameplay will move faster though, and there will be a way to add time somehow. Remember, they said that she's pushing back doomsday, so maybe that 13 will turn into 15 if you beat a certain boss. I don't think this is the end of the XIII Saga, just of LIghtning's story, unless Lightning somehow saves all of time. It would be disappointing for the game not to allow other playable characters. I know it's "Lightning's" game, but are they really going to misstep in the same way that XIII-2 did and not allow more playable human characters? AirbagVII 386 Posted September 1, 2012 I've made a quick video (1m20s) where I resumed all the details we know so far about the game. I thought it could be useful to resume everything in a short video. Hope you enjoy!

XIIISwords 1,059 Posted September 1, 2012 The gameplay sounds fascinating. I wonder if it's anything like the original XIII battle system seen here- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM3P15hTnfA It starts at 0:
Peanut 26 Posted September 1, 2012 After sleeping on the topic, I have a few more concerns. How does this have to do with the end of XIII-2? I thought that time was destroyed. Obviously it isn't, considering that it's 13 days till the end. Also, they described a ton about the environment but gave almost zero attention to the story. I'm really concerned about that, because we all want to see Lightning get her happy ending. Unless we get a proper story, I won't be happy. And what about the other characters? I get that this is hundreds of years after XIII-2 (again, how does that work if time ceases to flow?) but we fell in love with more characters than just Lightning. I hope I don't have anything to worry about, but they really messed up XIII-2 in terms of character focus and story, so I don't know what to think. I know this though: I am DEFINITELY getting the game and seeing it for myself.

I thought that time was destroyed.[...] I don't know if you played the Lightning DLC for FFXIII-2 (Requiem of the Goddess) or watched videos of it online (that's what I did), but after completing it, we can see that Lightning awakened from her crystal slumber in the Dying World in 700 AF (Noel's original timeline). My thoughts are that all the party members we knew from the previous games are dead already (after all, the end of the game was in 500 AF), so there's no way they would have survived 200 years (besides that, the world was also engulfed in Darkness/Chaos). Of course some humans must have survived and the survivors began a new life, recreating what was lost, recreating civilizations, etc. The new world is not even called Pulse anymore, but Novus Partus (which means New Births in Latin), which kinda supports this theory. I think that, somehow, Lightning must have some powers that were granted to her by Etro, which will allow her to correct the timeline and avoid the calamity that happened back in 500 AF. Maybe there's some kind of gate that is only accessible near these Last 13 Days, that will take us to where Caius actually is now. Of course these are only theories, but I think they do makes sense. I did play RotG, and that makes more questions for me. She woke up in Noel's time after all, so why wouldn't the next game take place in that universe? I suspect the others are dead as well for the story line, but even if that's logical, it makes me upset. I LOVE Lightning; she's my favorite character in FF. But I don't think it's right that she gets her own game and the others are just thrown away. Hopefully I'm proven wrong and everyone is incorporated somehow. I'm really curious about how they're going to explain away Valhalla. I don't want it to be a quick fix like what you explained because that makes everything in XIII-2 seem pointless. Sigh. It just seems like SE is ignoring the rules of their own universe, and that annoys me a lot.

All of time was destroyed. These aren't the remnants from 500 AF. These are the remnants of anybody ever. There is no time ever, Novus is clearly the result of time being destroyed, which is why it'll be destroyed in 13 days
AirbagVII 386 Posted September 1, 2012 I suspect the others are dead as well for the story line, but even if that's logical, it makes me upset [...] I thingk that in the hand of her journey, we'll be able to correct what happened and everyone will be alright! All of time was destroyed. These aren't the remnants from 500 AF. These are the remnants of anybody ever. There is no time ever, Novus is clearly the result of time being destroyed, which is why it'll be destroyed in 13 days That's what Caius intended: to create a world where the timeline was destroyed. Yet, I have the feeling that Lightning will also have some "time powers" which will allow her to correct that. The time must still be flowing somehow, otherwise, why would they say there are 13 days left till the End of the World? After all, if there is no time, there is no way to count these 13 days. Therefore, nothing would ever be able to destroy Novus Partus in the first place...
Oathkeeper_ 3 Posted September 3, 2012 I'm pretty excited for this, although part of me does wish they could of just had XIII-2 finish the story off. Oh well.
AirbagVII 386 Posted September 3, 2012 Yeah! I share the same feeling. I wasn't expecting XIII to become a trilogy in the first place (aka "The Lightning Saga"). But in the other hand, I really had a good time with both XIII and XIII-2 (love the characters), so I'm really curious about what's going to happen next. Queen Tery 4,591 Posted September 3, 2012 They are CLEARLY finishing off the story Seriously, does nobody see this? No she means she wishes that 13-2 would've been the end of it, so we don't have to have a 3rd one.

axele 151 Posted September 4, 2012 I'm not sure what to think of this so far. At the most I'm sort of confused. At the moment it doesn't really feel like the 3rd part to Final Fantasy XIII. Is everybody else dead ? Did they kill everybody else off ? That seems a tad unfair. But it's all too early and everything. Though I'm hoping that Noel, Hope and the others are still around.
