How can one obtain a job at the age of 17?

Recommended Posts

Just recommendations, I've had my eye for Gamestop, but I have to apply when I'm 18. Luckily I'll graduate on the 30th of May if I keep a good pace.

Lots of places hire 16 and 17 yr olds. But they also prefer 18 bc they dont have to abide by child labor laws and restrictions . Keep trying though bc you will find a place to still hire you .Places in the fast food and retail industries tend to hire under 18 so try those for now .

But she didn't say this: GameStop is a horrible place to work at. By all means if it's your only chance at getting a job, go for it. I would look elsewhere for the time being unless it seriously comes down to working there. Prepare for unpaid overtime almost daily if you wish to work there.

This sounds vague, but first I think it depends on the state you live in, then since you're under 18 you'd probably have to have some paperwork that shows you can work part time or something like that. I may be wrong though.

Oh and I don't want to sound mean or demoralizing or anything, but I've heard gamestop isn't the greatest place to work part time(not very employee friendly), but hey whatever floats your boat.

From former employee's that worked at Gstop: "You will lose your soul."

It can't be worse than fast food. A former employee threatened to rob us with a gun.
