America was attacked at Pearl Harbor and even before that problem the Depression was happening. Once the war began the demand for military supplies rose the economy up out of the Depression. Many companies’ changed their products to match to match the war demand. With all this going on two other American race’s had other hardships going on. Those two were the Japanese and African Americans.The Japanese Americans were always treated badly but it became much worse after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Their loyalty was questioned they were forced to voluntarily go to internment camps. The Japanese packed up and left without a fight. Some believed that the Japanese in America didn’t pose a threat but those claims were ignored. The Japanese in the camps did their best to make it a livable place. They had many ways to prove their loyally in the camps. Some even went to join the American Army once they were freed from the camps.The African Americans were given very little chances to be in the spotlight if at all. They were allowed to join the army but duties were limited to cooking, cleaning rooms, and shoe shining. Even back during military training the whites and the blacks were segregated. The first African American combat unit was made in the year of 1941. The African Americans made the Double V campaign which demanded that African Americans who were risking their lives abroad receive full citizen ship rights back at home.Both of these races had hardships and times of relief to go through. Those were the Japanese and African Americans. In the future people shouldn’t have to go through stuff like that again. Don’t assume some one is evil or there a threat to the country just because of their race.
