KH3D Starting a New Game (Probably SPOILERS)

Recommended Posts

So, I just beat the game, created a "cleared game" save file in the second save slot, and am now working to complete some miscellaneous tasks. Now, I know that you can start a new game while carrying over a chunk of the various information and items/allies you acquired the first time around, thus helping to make the game easier. However, I have a few questions about this process.

First (and probably most important): which file do I save over when starting a new game? The save file with Riku at the last Save Point in the game seems like the obvious choice, but will I lose anything by saving over it? (Normally in situations like this, I'll just make a third save file, but since that isn't possible in this situation...)

My second question is: what will I keep, and what will I lose? I know about some of the things you keep, like you Spirits and their Affinity levels, but is there some sort of comprehensive list of what carries over and what doesn't?

You should have a Clear save . and a new game save for both your saves. DONT delete the clear save

Ok, so the first one is from right before I beat the game (no crown) and the second one is my cleared-the-game, post-game adventures file (with the crown icon). So basically, unless I want a quick way to access the final bosses again, I should save over the first file when starting my New Game+?

Oh You can access the final bosses just as quick in the clear save data since it puts you right back at the last save point before you beat the game so there isn't any reason to keep the unbeaten one.

Save to a completely new file.

Save to a completely new file.

There is no completely new file; that's the problem. Save file 1 is my just-before-the-end-of-the-game file, and save file 2 is the beat-the-game-and-traipse-back-through-the-game-to-finish-whatever-remains-unfinished file. So, are you saying to save over the first file when starting a new game, or the second file? That's my big concern right now.

How far is your "just-before-the-end-of-the-game file"? I'd save over that date. If you're past the Anti-Coat Nightmare and Ansem battles then you really don't have any reason to keep that file. You can fight Xemnas and Riku's last bosses again in the "beat-the-game-and-traipse-back-through-the-game-to-finish-whatever-remains-unfinished" second file.

As for your second question: You have all your Dream Eaters but they reset to level 1(Affinity is unchanged), The Memento's and Reports sections are the same as when you beat the game(except for treasures) including trophies, The only items that carry over are recipes, Your Command Deck doesn't carry over.

Connect your DS to the computer and back up your saves, then go for it.
