Sony really needs to support their handhelds

Recommended Posts

I completely Agree with you tails........I really don't understand until this very day WHY SONY DIDN'T PUT ANY KIND OF FOCUS ON THE VITA DURING E3 and went on to present the stupid Wonderbook crappy PS Move game.......there isn't much to convince me to buy a Vita......most of the games are ports of games I already own and the Vita exclusive isn't that big or good except for Gravity Rush.........yet sony decided to promote a new Ps3 model instead of their newly born Handheld...the 3DS stepped it up in almost 5 months with good games like mario kart7, Super Mario 3D Land and many other games.......if sony won't think quickly to fix this.....then I'm afraid the Vita won't last very long

Well said I totally agree

Yeah ikr. Sony really needs to step up their game with the Vita. or it could easily fade from existence.

Yeah, Sony just isn't showing any concern for the Vita at all after all the hype they gave it. E3 could have been their big chance to show that the Vita had some potential and some. It could have gotten a lot more 3rd party support if they weren';t busy showing off their new PS3 models and giving it crappy games that nobody cares about. Then Sony probably would have won E3 this year.

You make a good point. Sonic for the Vita?

Sure, but it should be a PS Vita exclusive rather than on both the PS3 and the Vita. Otherwise there would be no point in getting it on Vita and it wouldn't help boost sales for Vita. Edited by Tails

Well I do own both a Vita and a 3DS and I have to say I do believe the Vita itself has much more potential than the 3DS. I didnt actually get the PSP until BBS, but I did actually want it earlier, so I cant say for sure if I'd have felt the same for the PSP/DS era.

I dont believe the problem with the Vita is how "Expensive" it is, I doubt if it'd even help sales that much, maybe it'd benefit in the case of peopel not wanting to pay that much for memory cards, but I think it really is just the games. It isnt getting enough games and out of those games that do come out, there isnt enough "Good" ones out of those few bunch.

I think a lot of it right now is just panic/over exaggeration...again... Look at 3DS, that done MUCH worse than Vita at this time. Took like 2 months for OOT3D + RE:M, then there was really NOTHING until Star Fox (Which I was disappointed with really), and Mario Kart/Super Mario Land.

The Vita is already performing better than the 3DS already really IMO, seeing I own more games for Vita now than I did for 3DS at that point. I totally agree about lack of support though. It really feels to me Vita is second to PS3, while MOST of their attention should be on Vita for now, then equalise it out. All those HD remakes they make for PS3, make for Vita too! I think for some games they could afford to have on both PS3/Vita too. Apart from that, only other thing I'd like sony to do is just improve Vita firmware wise, like notifications when people get a trophy or something, you're not alerted when someone comments on it, so you dont have a clue if someone posts something. And of course the constant blue pop up messages, but dont know what can be done about that much. Of course we need 3rd Party support, but its not all down to sony on that respect. Vita I think will definately pick up though, and sadly, as much as I hate COD with a PASSION!, I think that, as well as Assassins Creed Liberation will kick a start off for 3rd party support. Bioshock I'm looking forward to a lot on Vita!

I can't really agree with what you said about the psp game collection, (think about it, BBS, Star wars battlefront II, the Force unleashed, Motorstorm arctic edge, Dissidia FF, The list goes on...) and it was a ton better than the ds but I do get where your coming from with the lack of zeal in playstation portable promotions (try saying that 5 times fast! :D)

Coming from someone who owns both a psp and Vita I couldn't agree more. I only have like 3 games for my Vita since I bought it back in April and while I am not really complaining I just can't see Sony really pushing the console after it's really weak launch. As for the price, I think if they aren't going to lower the price they should at least bundle some kind of memory card with it. I myself only have a 4gb card because it was the best I could afford when I bought the system.

Gamescom showed though that Sony don't believe the Vita is quite dead yet but they really should have taken front stage at E3 when they had the chance.

I am looking forward to some games coming out for the Vita but they just can't compete with the line-up the 3DS has coming. Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion, Smash Bros are all titles that I am really looking forward to and Sony can't compete with Nintendo for 1st party titles. Though LittleBig Planet, Final Fantasy X, Tearaway, PSone Classics and the whole Cross-play thing is great and I'll enjoy them and whatever else Sony throw out for the Vita but at the end of the day they will not catch Nintendo no matter how hard they try but if they get some good jrpgs/rpgs like the psp had then I don't care because my Vita will be of some use to me.

Sony should have realised that having the best technology would never be instant victory, a console is only as good as its software after all.

wow you guys do that and never try looking into the company works its self the reason why they cant get many people working on the vita cause most of them alll say makeing a game on the vita would be the same as makeing one for a consul so you have to see it in there eyes as you can make a psvita game that would be the same as making a game on a home consul taking just as much work to put in the touch controls to or just make the consul game

so yeah the company when it comes down to the vita are stuck in a hard place in choosing

and in my view of Nintendo the wii is ok and the ds and 3ds but all there doing is making damn remakes of there better original super Nintendo games so yeah they have let there self go as well

and sony has become more creative then all the other guys in there psn area

tutti frutti. The PS Vita may be better than the 3DS in terms of hardware, and more so who you ask for opinions, but if there isn't the right support for the console/handheld in general, it's basically another paperweight. KHBBS, Crisis Core and the two GOW games were really the only ones that caught my attention in terms of what games I would get for it. If there isn't a solid list of games out there for people to buy, then there's really no reason whatsoever for people to go out and pay a couple hundred bucks for it. Nintendo did do a good thing by slashing prices for the 3DS, and more so making it up to those that paid the full $250 by having the ambassador program to help make up the difference. If something isn't considered affordable to the consumer then the product won't sell as well. And the thing that has bugged me is, why develop something that companies intend to sell, but not support? Sony is pretty much stabbing themselves in the foot by not supporting the PSP and Vita. The DS/3DS may not be the best thing in the world, but at the very least it is something I have found to have solid games that I enjoy.
