KHBbS Just Stumbled on a Major BBS Plothole

Right, so the part where Terra fights Braig, you know?

It's already pretty silly, as it has Terra believe Braig was able to overpower Xehanort but...

The REASON Braig gives for fighting Terra is that he believes that defeating him with grant him the keyblade.

But he already has Xehanort chained up.

Xehanort is a keyblade wielder. And he's chained up. That makes him a much easier target than Terra.

If Braig honestly thought beating a keyblade wielder would give him a keyblade, he would have done so by now. And Terra didn't notice

That was an act. Xehanort probably payed him to test Terra's power and motivate him to use the Darkness. He WAS a thug, after all.

Terra didn't wan Xehanort to get hurt, so seeing as he wasn't targeting Xehanort any longer, he just had to go along with it.

Yeah, I think they were already working with each other in order to mess with/or test Terra.

Yes, it was a trick, but Braigs excuse that he uses on Terra is ridiculously flimsy. He says he wants to defeat a keyblade wielder and claim his keyblade... so the thing he uses to ensure the keyblade wielder DOESN'T fight back is... a keyblade wielder he supposedly defeated and chained up.

Keep in mind that Terra also buys the idea that if he moves, Xehanort will "go boom" in spite of a complete lack of noticable triggering mechanisms, and the fact that Braig couldn't possibly have had enough time to set up that complex of a system.

Not to mention that if all Braig wanted was to take the keyblade, he could have just put an arrow in Terra's skull instead of casually conversing with him and telling him exactly where his captive is and where Terra should go.

Even if Braig attacked MX while he was chained up, MX would just use a dark corridor and easily escape.

How would he create a corridor if he was chained up?

I don't think it's much of a stretch to say he has a bomb and trigger, put the bomb where Xehanort is, and has the trigger in his pocket

And he DOES try to shoot Terra in the face. Terra just blocks it.

We have discovered the real reason why Terra will be saved last in KH3... Because if he was saved any sooner, the seven lights would fail miserably against the thirteen seekers of darkness.

Poor Terra would end up doing something that would put his entire team in jeopardy. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/smiley-confuse.png

I get what you mean.

Terra shoulda been all like WTF man?! You chained up an old guy but decide to fight me, a perfect fit sexy young man whos gonna totally give you scars that'll carry into your next lives.

And then Terra should have realised they were in leauge and that Xehanort was testing him and was gonna use him.

Then he should walked off, found Aqua and Ven and gone home to Eraqus for some sea salt ice cream.

Thus resulting in no Kingdom Hearts future.

Ever heard of a remote detonator, something that could easily be held by the user and used to activate a bomb by the designed input, say, a code or specific button input?

This is the problem when you write backwards, because Square Enix needed certain events to occur that explain what will happen later in the series, they had to make Terra a complete dumbass who can't do anything right alone.

Well, in his defense, Terra already had darkness in his heart and throughout the game when he found out what Master Eraqus had been doing (making Aqua keep tabs on him, planning to kill Ven) he didn't really have a reason to trust the good guys either. When you just fail your MoM exam because of spontaneous dark leakage, and your father-like figure seems to have abandoned you, you're not in a very good place to make good judgement calls. MX was there saying he had a way to help him and, to the best of Terra's knowledge until a certain point in the game, he was completely trustworthy. MX is a conniving, crafty, brilliant old man that has proven his ability to fool many people (Riku, Sora, Yen Sid, Mickey, most of the original Organization XIII) and even though, to us, things were really suspicious because we can look at it from the outside, if we had been in Terra's place we more than likely would have responded similarly.

Braig is clearly not holding such a device, given that both of his hands are busy holding the guns.

Code word?

Even so - it was still a lie and Terra was caught in the sweet moment of being a hero for his new bff.
