Weiss 8,279 Posted August 9, 2012 Ok so I have some questions concerning yen sid in 3d. 1. He pretty much knows everything and is shocked by nothing. But what was he doing while riku was in sora's dream of dream worlds (or however you say that)? Was he just waiting for something to go wrong? 2. How does he even know who kairi is when he asks riku to bring her to him in the secret ending? How does he know she can wield a keyblade? Can he see everything anywhere? 3. Why did he send them specifically to the past for there test? maybe I am overthinking this but he confuses me more than any other character.
HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted August 9, 2012 (edited) 1) He was stroking his magical beard while sitting on his ass bc hes BOSS 2) He was told there was another weilder. So he asked Riku to bring her . 3) He wanted them to learn their skills from scratch bc they were never trained Edited August 9, 2012 by Flaming Lea 3 Henne, Tails and Robbie the Wise reacted to this
Remains of Old 117 Posted August 9, 2012 1. I guess he just waited. 2. Like F. Lea said, he was told there was another wielder. 3. It's not really the past, it's the realm of sleep. I guess they dream with themselves like they were younger, before such dark things happened?
Imagination in Progress 30 Posted August 9, 2012 1. While, Yen Sid was aware that Riku was traveling through Sora's dreams of the Sleeping Worlds, he did not know that the 'True Organization XIII' was plotting to steer Sora off course. He did not realize that the many incarnations of Xehanort could possibly interfere during the exam. (Also keep in mind: Yen Sid was equally surprised when Lea summoned his Keyblade for the first time.) 2. Mickey and Yen Sid are seen conversing in 'Signs of What's Next', so Mickey could have quite easily mentioned that Kairi is able to wield the Keyblade, seeing as Riku had summoned one for her to wield in The World That Never Was in KH2. 3. Yen Sid had Sora and Riku undergo the Mark of Mastery as their younger selves, because they are self-taught Keyblade wielders (unlike Aqua, Terra and Ven). Therefore, he chose to have them both take the exam with their respective physical appearance of when they first gained the ability to wield the Keyblade in KH1. No he deliberately wanted them younger before they learned everything bc they were never trained .They just winged it . So he sent them in the past and thats how they also entered the realm of sleep 1 Tails reacted to this
SnowpointQuincy 11 Posted August 10, 2012 They way I understood it, Sora and Riku had to travel back in time to the real Destiny Islands before they were Lost to Darkness. (That is how MX was able interfere, because a past version of him was at DI at that moment in time. By being on that world when it was "Put to Sleep" thay would be in the Realm of Dreams. Though, I might be totaly wrong, but this would be a Legitimate reason for the time-travel. Otherwise, the time travel would have been mostly pointless. P.S. Is it just me, or was the time-travel not Established clearly in the first minutes of the game
mfampait 49 Posted August 10, 2012 I didn't understand that they had been sent back in time at the beginning until way after I completed the game, I thought he was sending them to the RoS where for some reason there was a dream of destiny islands from when it went into darkness. But I still don't get how the hell they can time travel seeing as THEY STILL HAVE THEIR FREAKING BODIES!!!. Maybe it's just after you turn eighteen or something you have to lose the body, because for some reason, Sora, Riku and young Xehanort can all time travel when it specifically says you can't do it with one. YX does have a body because the Heartless, who gave up it's body, does not have one anymore. He gave YX his ability so that the boy (YX) can still have a... body (body count, lol). That's probably the same way with Sora and Riku, if there is only just one way of time traveling. Yeah, Yen Sid does not have a... real body... eh...? Kirux 1,224 Posted August 11, 2012 I would assume that Yen Sid knows about Kairi because she's a princess of light and he knows about them sooo...Also I believe that when mickey is counting the keyblade wielders in front of MX, he probably wasn't counting Lea, but Kairi, because he had yet to manifest his keyblade at that point in time, so wasn't a wielder as of yet. From what I understood, as long as you have physically been somewhere in a point in point of time, no matter what form it takes, you are able to time travel there, and once you get there you can only go forward with the natural flow of time, until your trip voucher expires, or whatever arbitrary force tells you your done. My problem with the time traveling isn't that it happened, but the fact that they never explain HOW they are able to. Sure they give the rules for it once you do it, but what's the catalyst? Merlin has is timeless room, so maybe powerful magic? If that's the case, I can see how Yen Sid and MX can both do it. Some people have been saying it's a keyblade thing; but Xemnas neither Ansem SoD have keyblades, nor do Braig or Isa so we'd have to assume they were there real time, and if they were actually there, why did they have to leave when time ran out for the time traveling? Trying to figure these things out is like a mental rubix cube. I hate rubix cudes. I use them as things to throw out windows when I'm frustrated at rubix cubes. EDIT:WAIT NEVERMIND I JUST REMEMBERED!Sora and Riku used to use those wooden swords before the keyblades, but then, isnt that STILL self-taught?unless their parents told them how to beat the crap outta each other Edited August 11, 2012 by soniplushie
Kirux 1,224 Posted August 11, 2012 as far as I can tell, only Sora has a mom. The rest of them just sort of sprouted out of the depths.
