RikuVazquez 108 Posted August 13, 2012 Okay, so firstly I live in the UK so the game came out a week before America. The day had arrived, I'd been waiting for the game forever, the day comes I beg my mu to go out and we do, we call the place up and spend about 2 hours looking for the shop learning afterwards that we'd been looking for the wrong shop. My mum getting angry because I'd said to go into said shop earlier she says that I don't deserve the game, but what do you expect It's my mum, mums get mad at the smallest of things In the car I tried to play the game but the daylight was too bright, this meaning that I had to wait to play it at home, this was torture for me. When I got home I got right to it and started playing the game, me having played the demo about 30 times knew how the controls worked and was already to skip all the tutorials. By the end of day one, I'd finished The Grid and was having a blast, although finding the treasure chests was a pain, this I have still not done. By the end of day 3 I'd already finished the game with most of the treasures found and on proud, I'd also already crafted over 85% of the dream eaters being a good thing. When I finished the game after a cruel battle against YMX it asked me whether or not I wanted to make a new game, me being hesitant and not knowing what to do, I asked the forums what I should do and whether this would delete my data, getting answers such as all data will be transferred gave me great relief and I started the game again, although this time was time FOR CRITICAL MODE. Boyyy was this hardeer, the bosses were harder and I had to do a ton more grinding, I had to grind all the way to level 80 to beat JULIUS AND BOY was Julius HARD! I did this battle around 50 time and stayed up to ridiculous hours to finish this boss, this boss even encouraged me I could finally beat Vanitas' Remnant and Sephiroth, I did beat Seph, but the other boss is still yet impossible for me. In conclusion this game was a bunch of fun and I recommend it to everyone on the site! Although the game was a little shorter than expected it was packed full of fun, storyline and FRIENDSHIP, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Wow, you are a true warrior to have beaten the game in critical! RikuVazquez 108 Posted August 13, 2012 I first experienced Kingdom Hearts at a friends house in my elementary school years. He had trouble beating a boss and wished for me to give it a try. I succeeded and was immediately hooked by the wonderful mash-up of RPG elements and Disney worlds which I had grown up with. My friend sold his PS2 out of frustration so I was no longer able to play it. I then specifically went out to buy a PS2 with my savings just to experience the joy of this game all over again. After one of the best gaming experiences of my life I progressed on to Kingdom Hearts 2. My expectations were exceeded, with an amazing story, revamped game play and one of the best summers of my life. No game has has captured my excitement and imagination more than Kingdom Hearts 2. To this day I have been a diehard fan of the Kingdom Hearts series, playing each new addition that has come out. There is something special about the mixture of Final Fantasy and Disney elements that creates a unique, immersing gaming experience. The best part for me is the original characters that have been created for Kingdom Hearts. As you continue through each of the worlds, you become interested in the characters progression as new details are revealed. Some may oppose the prequel titles but they are truly essential in grasping the overall puzzle that is the Kingdom Hearts storyline. The added back story of each title truly gives the player an entire new outlook on the series as well as a yearning drive to replay previous titles to play through with a new mindset. Upon getting Kingdom Hearts 3D (which is 50% of the reason for me getting a 3DS), I was impressed how the game play felt like a balanced fusion of 358/2 Days and Birth By Sleep. Dream Eaters add a new feeling to the combat dynamic as I now feel more invested in leveling up my allies so that I could learn new abilities. The new worlds such as Tron: Legacy were pulled off well and did justice to the movies while doing its own adaptation to fit in the Kingdom Hearts characters. I found the story of the game to be a little slow at times but those with patience receive the reward of a rich back story as well as new story progression before KH3. I am very impressed with how the series has evolved and been kept alive for 10 years while still holding my interest. I am now 20 years old and still look forward to the future of the series as it keeps the inner child within me contempt while the adult in me experiences the beauty of the story. I really liked your review of the series, I got it the original Kingdom Hearts when it first came out because I'm a HUGE FINAL FANTASY FAN-NERD! and just like you I got the each of the following games and they got better, and I agree that Kingdom Hearts 2 was the best one and I loved how 3D improved almost everything, I'm turning 23 this Sunday, and I'm a bigger fan than I was 10 years ago. 1 Oathkeeper's Oblivion reacted to this
Oathkeeper's Oblivion 5 Posted August 13, 2012 I'm flattered that people thought my impression/review was one of the best. Thanks everyone for the kind words. I'd also like to congradulate Hatok and DragonMaster. Hatok's review was hilarious and clever on many levels. DragonMaster's was an excellent review that covered many aspects. Also great job to everyone else who submitted entries. 1 DragonMaster reacted to this
RikuVazquez 108 Posted August 14, 2012 I found out about this game not long after Re:Coded was released, and I knew I had to have it. I checked this website almost everyday, hoping for new information. When I found out about the Mark of Mastery Edition, I rushed to Gamestop and Pre-ordered my copy. I was so happy that I had Pre-ordered my copy, but waiting for the game to come out was agonizing. Finally July 31st came around, and I was overwhelmed with happiness. I got my Mark of Mastery Edition as soon as I could, and couldn't have been happier with it's contents. The 12 art cards were my favorite part of the Mark of Mastery Edition, other than the game itself of course. Everything, including the box itself was beautiful. Now to the game review. As a huge Kingdom Hearts fan, it doesn't take a lot to satisfy me, and this game did just that. Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] is a great edition to the series in many aspects. Three of the main things this series is known for are it's story, gameplay, and beautiful soundtracks. Every other Kingdom Hearts has executed all three of these things very well, and Kingdom Hearts 3D is no diffrent. One of the newest gameplay features called flowmotion, is where you use the environment to you're advantage, jumping from wall to wall, sliding on railings, and more. It's a great new feature that makes getting around and fighting enemies easier, and more fun. Reality Shift is another great feature that's new to the Kingdom Hearts series. Once you enter reality shift, you get to play a little mini-game that can open new paths, harm you're enemies, or progress the story. Each reality shift is diffrent for each world, so there are a variety of diffrent things you could do. You're companions in this game have never been seen before, the Dream Eaters. Dream Eaters are cute little creatures that will aid you in combat, and accompany you on you're journey. You can train, and play with the Dream Eaters you collect. There are two types of Dream Eaters, Spirits, you're companions, and the Nightmares, you're enemies throughout the game. The music in this game is calming, and beautiful, as it always has been. From classics to never before heard tracks, I'm sure you will fall in love with the music in Kingdom Hearts 3D, as I did. Now for the story. The story behind this game has left me breathless. I don't want to give anything away, but Kingdom Hearts has one of the most heart touching, well thought out stories I've ever experienced. It'll leave you speechless. I can however tell you what it's about. Kingdom Hearts 3D involves the two main protagonists, Sora and Riku, taking a test known as the Mark of Mastery. They must prepare themselves for the return of Xehanort, whose motives are currently unclear. Along the way, Sora and Riku will meet old friends, and new ones, same goes for the enemies. Kingdom Hearts 3D offers a vast variety of worlds and environments for you to explore. In this game you can play as both Sora and Riku, Dive from world to world, and Drop between which character you want to play as, at you're choosing. Diving to a new world is like the substitute for the Gummi Ship in this game, but with more freedom, and more exiting. The Drop system, is where you switch from character to character throughout the game. Sometimes you are forced to Drop, but ultimately it's up to, who you play as. These Kingdom Hearts games keep getting better and better. I can't wait to see what Square Enix has in store for us next. Until then I highly recomend Kingdom Hearts 3D for anyone and everyone! The graphics have never been better, it really takes advantage of the 3D aspect, and will give you hours upon hours of enjoyment. Even if this is you're first Kingdom Hearts game, you can unlock "Chronicles" as you progress through the story, and they will explain everything that has happended up to this point in the series. Definitely a great new feature for newcomers. With that being said, I really hope you pick up Kingdom Hearts 3D, you won't regret it, trust me. One of, if not the best Kingdom Hearts game in the series, 10/10. This has been my review for Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance], and I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for you're time. Really nice review

DChiuch 5,773 Posted August 15, 2012 Thank You! Means a lot. But I still lost to a shitty drawing. Wtf?.......waste of my time. I didn't want to pick 3 "professional" style reviews, then the results would all seem the same. I went for a variety. As yours was a professional kind of review (but also a personal account), you were really up against the other two winners, not so much hatok. If you're only entering the contest because of the slim chance you might win (no offense, but you're one person out of like 80), then it's kinda silly. You need to enjoy it as well. I understand, that you didnt want 3 similar reviews.
