KH3D Wants to know exactly what the Guardian is

From BBS all the way to 3D, we have seen the birth of the guardian to its many deaths, but each time we see it it gains more prominence. So what i want to know is... what is it?

We have no idea for sure exactly what it is. It's never actually been explained. It could just be an extension of the darkness in Xehanort's heart, or (from what we see in DDD) that of Terra's. Hopefully it will be explained further.

Its pretty self explanatory, the Guardian is just a Guardian for Ansem/Xehanort

He's talking about the Heartless that always appears behind Ansem SoD. Anyway ever since BbS I've had a theory that The Guardian is the true form of Xehanort's heartless (what's under the brown robe) while Ansem SoD is actually Terra's, but with Xehanort's memories and personality.

 

I came to this conclusion because.

1. It only appeared after Xehanort's heart possessed Terra

2. If you look closely at it's head, you can see some resemblace to MX

3. Ansem SoD is the only version of Xehanort (besides Terra-Xehanort) that the Guardian appears with.*

Not Xemnas, MX, YX, Braig/Xigbar or Isa/Saix

*I think this is because Terra's and MX's hearts are fused so their Heartless are physically connected.

After Aqua deafted Terranort in Raident Garden the 1st time, the Guardian was born out of Xehanort's Hate & Rage, and since Ansem is more Xehanort than Terra, Ansem can use the Guardian. It's like a unversed (but not) because it was created from Xehanort's emotions. Looks like a pureblood heartless to me...

It might be a substitute for his Keyblade... no version of Xehanort with the Guardian has ever wielded the Keyblade. I remember that scene at the end of BbS when Terra/MX stabbed himself infront of Aqua, and as soon as the Keyblade disappeared the Guardian appeared. Obviously it's just a theory but i came to this conclusion due to Ansem using the Guardian and not the Keyblade in KH1.

Actually, this is quite interesting. When you battle him in the 2nd round, Xehanort didn't fight with the Keyblade when the Guardian appeared.

But, when the Guardian grabs you, Xehanort attacks you with the Keyblade and so the Guardian disappears.

It's like he can't use both... i think the reason why Ansem uses the Guardian all the time is he lost the ability to wield due to becoming a Heartless.

I can actually believe it. Since Ansem is just the Darkness of Master Xehanort's heart. But I still wonder why. I think that the Guardian could be Terra's own darkness. It is pretty much characterised by Terra's Dark Impulse Command Style. Plus, it appears in Terra's heart in the final battle. But this is just a theory at the moment.

*SPOILER* after rewatching the riku vs ansem battle in 3D i have a new theory. is it possible that the guardian is part Vanitas or atleast part unverse because at the end of the fight the guardian can be seen reaching out for something, that something being, i presume, Riku's keyblade. was anyone else remind of the scene where Vanitas attempts to reach out for the X-blade as it drifts away from him... just food for thought

The Guardian is a Heartless being and comes from either Terra or Xehanort, or even both. I highly doubt it has any affiliation with Vanitas or The Unversed.

Why do people keep using the Wikia version when it's clearly full of fancruft? (I assume it's the Keyhole, because the wiki I use says no such thing)
