The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted August 3, 2012 Hey guys, I just wanted to express my opinion on the much popular Pokemon series. Okay, so to start off, the first Pokemon game I ever played was Pokemon Pearl and I simply loved it. After I played that game, I bought a bunch of others, and so up to this day I have: Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Crystal, Firered, Leafgreen, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, Heartgold, and White versions. I've played each of these games completely and I've analyzed the plot of each one. Although I love the Pokemon games a lot, I'm beginning to draw away from them. I mean seriously, the premise in all the games is the same, your the new kid in town, you meet a professor that studies pokemon, and he/she gives you one of 3 starters to choose from, and then you head off to complete the pokedex, become the pokemon league champion, and defeat an evil organization trying to use pokemon for their own evil needs. Although each game has different characters and regions obviously, the premise is the same on all of them. I just wish there was a Pokemon game where there was a more emotional plot with tragic twists and cliffhangers that keep you guessing at every turn. I also wish that combat with Pokemon would be just like in the TV series, where they actually move to do their attacks. In other words, the combat would be action/RPG. And also, they could make a 3D world just like in the Gamecube games. And it would be cool if the characters had voices. Hey, if Kid Icaurs Uprising did it, then why can't pokemon? Anyways, that's why I have so much faith on the 3DS. Since this system has so much potential, I imagine a very good pokemon game might release for it. I know some of you will disagree with my opinion, but I had to express it. So then, what do you think guys? Would you like changes in a next Pokemon game? 1 doom reacted to this

WakelessDream 2,280 Posted August 3, 2012 (edited) I drew away from them a long time ago, I love those games especially the Kanto~Hoenn region games, but I don't spend much time on them anymore its fun but its the same thing every game only difference is new region new pokemon new trainers, otherwise the jist of the games are the same as their predecessors. WakelessDream 2,280 Posted August 3, 2012 Exactly! Thank you for backing me up on this! Lol no problem just stating my opinion. I do pick them up and play them every once in a blue moon but that's a very rare occurrence.

You know, come to think of it, I'm not exactly psychopatticaly excited for Pokemon Black and White 2. I don't think I'll even buy them.

It was a revolution of Pokèmon. It had a more emotional plot and a lot more deeper than the other games. Maybe not as emotional as you are thinking, but it's pretty emotional. 1 Jilly Shears reacted to this

Maybe not as emotional as you are thinking, but it's pretty emotional. Yeah, I guess, but the game was pretty meh to me. I did like how the cities looked and all, but all in all, it still had the exact premise: new kid in town, professor gives you pokemon, battle to become the champion, and fight an evil organization. Still the same premise. I'd just like to see the people at Nintendo to take a risk and do something even more awesome with the Pokemon series. 1 doom reacted to this

If it worked once, why not do it again? Plus BW2 is coming out, and from the looks of it, its going to be possibly what you are looking for. I wanted to have this also, but PKMN BW was great enough to fill that missing hole in the series. I think BW2 is going to be better than that.

Zenithia 305 Posted August 17, 2012 tutti frutti. Pokemon Black and White had somewhat of a different turn in the story. In the past, the group seemed to have minimal evil reasons to use pokemon. But in Black and White I felt that there was more to the story. Though I more so play it to help tide myself over just in case I have nothing major to play and have to wait for the next new game I find interesting to come out. I don't find the main series, video games, to be too bad, but it's enough to help tide me over.
Shera Wizard 2,736 Posted August 29, 2012 First: Pokemon was my childhood . I just wanted to say that aloud. I didn't get much of the plot for PokemonBlack/White cause I played the game in Japanese But yeah, too lazy to play it aaallll over again http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/sleep.png Well I guess that's what's my problem: Long games=not worth replaying. But still pokemon Sapphire was my first and favourite GBA game and then I played all from Crystal to BW2 ^.^"
Moni_22 335 Posted August 31, 2012 I've played almost every Pokémon game since I played Yellow when I was a kid. I LOVE all Pokemon games, but guess what, my favourites are Black and White. Until these two games came out I was thinking like you "Pokemon is always the same", I like the plot, the villains, the characters, the music... but it's the same gameplay. But, when BW came out, then I change the idea. Because BW is different, and they changed a lot of thing, characters (like the rivals or the gym leaders) are now more important that before. In the other games, you almost see all the gym leaders in the gym and that's all, in BW they help in your journey. And the villains too, I've always wanted a character like N in Pokemon, with a good backstory and design. I've also played BW2, and men, it's amazing, much like the first. In my point of view, Pokemon is getting better and better. And I look forward to new games. In BW graphics were awesome, it has great music, storyline is a bit different, good characters, and a long post-game. Also, they included cutscenes with 3D graphics, and they are also awesome. Setrex 1,031 Posted September 12, 2012 Ruby and Sapphire need remakes for the 3DS. My first pokemon game was Ruby and I got a red gba sp the same day *o* Hard to believe that was nearly 10 years ago. Time flies
Weedanort 8,786 Posted September 13, 2012 I just wish there was a Pokemon game where there was a more emotional plot with tragic twists and cliffhangers that keep you guessing at every turn. The closest we have to that is Pokémon Black and White. You know, Competitive Battling has a lot to offer.
XIIISwords 1,059 Posted September 16, 2012 I love all the Pokemon games, but I understand your concerns. You want change. That's why the spinoffs are great. The Mystery Dungeon Series is a personal favorite. It's fresh, new, and has a moving storyline. A 3DS version has just been announced and looks promising. http://youtu.be/9toyo8_IApw
KHSonic 41 Posted September 16, 2012 After playing white, i can see that the plots are starting to get a little more epic. I don't have much more hope for the sequals but i feel like the creators are going to do a little more than same ol same ol. Its the darn kids they have to worry about not losing though cuz they are big money.
